Yesterday, 4/18/10, my husband and I were looking for a blender that was strong enough to blend veggies and fruits. We happen to see Montel's infomercial and liked what we saw. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and purchased one for close to $200 minus their 20% discount coupon. New to juicing, we were very excited to try it out. I read the recipe books that came with the product and noticed that many of the recipes called for fructose. I thought that was strange because Montel talks about the health benefits of his blender but I don't think fructose is very good for you. Also, it said to throw in a whole orange and a whole kiwi. I assumed that meant the rind and all was to be blended. I had read in a juicing book that orange and kiwi rinds can be a bit toxic. Anyway, we were very excited to try it and threw in some fruits with ice and finally, after several tries to get the ingredients to blend, was able to drink our drink. My son came in a few minutes later and wanted to try a smoothie. The machine no longer worked! So tomorrow, 4/20/2010, the Montel Health Master is being returned. I cannot endorse this product. I usually research things but fell for the infomercial and Montel's name. Afterall, Montel wouldn't steer us wrong - would he?

After reading the comments here I will not buy the HealthMaster pushed by Montel, but am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a product that does similar things to what is advertised for the Health Master at a comparable or lower price.

I just received mine and one look at it didn't impress me. The blades looked cheap.

Just now I read the complaints about the poor customer service and the poor quality.

Also paid for Shipping and Handling @$40. I'm returning this machine too before I get stuck with it.

I've been raked over the coals with buying things from TV previously and if I thought the S&H was a rip off, I would rather be out the $40 (by the way when you return it they do not refund you the Shipping and Handling and you paid the cost of shipping it back. Which I am sure will not be $40 or anywhere near it.

I feel sorry for the lady would couldn't get service from the customer service people and the couple who had a Montel Healthmaster and it broke after making one drink. The blades weren't all the impressive when I unpacked it and one look at it told me "it is going back" and this was before I saw these complaints.

I too have gotten the run around from Customer Service. I ordered the Montel Healthmaster on December 20, 2009. It was received and I began using it. I was really thrilled with this new appliance. However, in the middle of March 2010, I noticed that under the container where it attaches to the machine - rust was appearing. In a few days, this became worse. Therefore, on March 26, 2010 @ 11:58 AM - I called the customer service number.

I spoke to "Marilyn" and described the rusting that was happening on my Health Master. To my surprise "Marilyn" told me not to be concerned; and that they would be sending me a replacement Health Master within 10-15 days. I then inquired about my returning the one I had so that the company could see what was happening. "Marilyn" told me that it would not be necessary for me to return the one that had the rust problem. This really surprised me since I felt that the machine I had should be looked at because this could be happening with other Healthmasters.

WELL - MY REAL SURPRISE IS THAT it has now been almost three months; and I have not received a replacement. The rusting problem has become so critical that when I use the machine - rust sprays out under the container.

I am appalled at the lack of customer service I have received. Just what is my next step? I did not pay almost $250 for a product that has gone bad in just three months. It is apparent that there is a flaw in the materials, and I need to know just what Montel Williams plans to do about this matter.

I don't need anymore false promises! I either want my money back or a product that I can depend upon.

I purchased the Health Master and at first I liked it but after a few times of using it, it has rust on the bottom of the container. I only washed it in the dishwasher one time because of the rust problem. I am not very happy with it. I have drink alot of smoothies and I juice alot of veggies and this does not hold up to what it says it can do. I am sooo disappointed with this product. If I would have known this I would have spent the extra money and bought a Vitamix!

Have had the health master for over 8 months and it works fine. I found that to blend a variety of veggies and fruits you have to turn it on, then set the power to the max of 8 then press the blend button. If this is not done the motor tends to lag. It does a great job. Recently the pitcher has begun to leak badly. I checked the blade assembly and it wiggles back and forth. I also noticed it is crudely assembly which may explain it's loosening up. I stopped using the machine until I get the new pitcher I ordered.

I got a Health Master a week ago at a really good deal. I have tried it twice with the intentions of using it more beginning tomorrow. After exploring websites including this one, I am hoping that I got a "good one" and it will do the job. I am very disappointed with the complaints. Wish I would have read them before coming across this and buying it. Thanks, Shape magazine for endorsing this:{

I have the Health Master Blender. I love the way it emulsifies fruits and vegetables, however I have yet to have one that works longer than 60 days. I bought my first one in August. By September the pitcher was leaking from the bottom. I returned it and bought another. I have done this five times. (Exchanging the ones that leak) I guess it is time to give up the effort of finding one that works. Each one eventually leaks out of the bottom. Montel Williams should be ashamed of himself. You are a thief and I refuse to even watch commercials where you advertise anything. I only see the devil when I see you. I am a veteran and presently a teacher. Montel Williams truly disgusts me.

What you all are saying about the picther is so true... after a short while the picther will leak. I had to purchase a new one. WHAT A RIP OFF!.

I have had the Health Master for 3 months and the same leaking and rust color over the bottom has happened to mine. When I called about it the person said that I needed a new container and that if I took the extended warranty for $20 the container would be covered. i would only need to pay shipping and handing of $24. So to get a new container that may only last 3 months I would pay $44 the first time and $24 S&H each time I needed a new container which could be every 3 months more or less. Fortunately I got this piece of junk on a good sale but will still lose money on it. It really worked well before this happened but is not worth buying because it appears that this is not an uncommon problem. BEWARE!

Because this Montel endorsed product no real bearing, this cheaply made blender is so loud it can wake up your neighborhood, seriously this thing is loud and in testing the decibel reading will indeed cause hearing loss and ear drum damage over time.

Secret Recipe...?
If your diet lacks iron or you have an iron deficiency, this blender magically produces rust that actually leaks past the seal into the pitcher, you can test for yourself by loading ice chunks and water an turn this blender on when completed, infuse your body with a rusty slushie.

Thanks for the hearing loss and rust infushion, class action lawsuit comming soon..

Wow! I thought I was the only one with the leaky pitcher. Mine looks like watery oil or grease leaking from the bottom. The bottom is also rusting. Unfortunately, I'm sure it's out of warranty now so I bought a new one. I'm afraid to use the new one and have the same thing happen. Very disappointed! Can I even get a pitcher replacement? Otherwise, blender works good. Haven't used it for making hot soup but making smoothies and juice is easy. I am going to try and call customer service again!
