Excellent course!
Excellent course! Especially for those of us who have taken First Aid/ CPR/AED for years in person. I found this website on my last renewal, in 2020, during the pandemic when it was downright dangerous to meet in person or share CPR models, even using PPE and simulating the techniques. So glad its legit and is accepted almost everywhere! Best parts for me are the high value for the price, and the small amount of time the classes take! I usually have to renew many certificates around the same time, so I'm usually so busy and so broke at this time of year. The low price really helps me out a lot! Thank you!
Very convenient for any schedules
Very convenient for any schedules. However I worry that because there is unlimited chances to retake the exam, that there might be people that take advantage of that and don't necessarily retain the information. I also think that there should be more questions to make sure that all aspects of the information are covered in the testing. Originally I had obtained my BLS through the American Heart Association. It was not nearly as easy, but very appropriate considering the field that I work in. It's just as important to make sure the information is learned and can be carried out with confidence and accuracy as it is to "pass" the testing.
The section on burns indicates Aloe Vera Ointment may be used on 1st degree burns
The section on burns indicates Aloe Vera Ointment may be used on 1st degree burns. I have been taught that a water base topical, cream or lotion, should be used as a petroleum base(ointment) is occlusive and burns need oxygen. Perhaps my earlier training has been superceeded? The question I got wrong was on Protective equipment should cover. The 2nd choice was coverings for body parts and do not need to be covered themselves and the third was inanimate equipment that also will not need to be covered, but certainly properly disinfected. The 4th answer was all of the above. You might want to review the wording of this question. Otherwise, the material presented was very informative and a good review.
Very good review for CPR and first aid however my employer would not accept my certification
Very good review for CPR and first aid however my employer would not accept my certification. So, check with your employer (mine is government funded and I care for special needs individual, have been for 19 years) before you pay for National CPR Foundation's certification. Sorry, I cannot recommend this certification if employers in WV will not accept it and that is why I rated it 3 stars. I'm being told my certification must be through American Heart Association and my employer does not care that these courses offered through this site are following AHA guidelines. I guess it's different in their eyes. I was trying to save some money as I have to pay for my own certifications. Don't cut corners; lesson learned.

I made a mistake in choosing and completing my course for work, I needed to complete the CPR / AED / 1st Aid course that cost $14.95 and instead completed the CPR / AED class that was $12.95; I would like to either pay the $2.00 difference and be allowed to take the test for the needed CPR / AED / 1st Aid test; or I need this company to reverse my payment so I can choose the proper course.
Unfortunately, I am unable to reach this business either through their website "contact us" or through the telephone # I ended up finding on this website.
The "contact us" fill in form goes to an error that states, "your request could not be processed at this time. Please try again later message: 1001" continuously the four times I tried to send for my issue.
The telephone # rings and rings until beeping comes on; this happened the 3 times I attempted to call.
I was not satisfied with the quality of the written training
I was not satisfied with the quality of the written training. Some of the info was difficult to understand - for example the description of the different numerical ratios for CPR and the inclusion of medical terminology without clear, simple definitions for the layperson. There were many typos (written errors) throughout the presentation. Also, given the large quantity of written info to absorb, I was surprised that there were only 10 questions on the test. Finally, although there were a few very short video clips, most of the test catered to fluent readers in English. I think that a series of short but comprehensive videos on each and every important topic would be a much easier format to understand and remember/ and be able to re-play as needed. Reading all of this material, I still have questions and did not have any chance to practice the techniques described. If a real-life emergency situation were to arise, I do not feel comfortable that I would quickly recall all of the necessary info. I'm glad that I was able to pass this short test but in reality, I don't think I absorbed the content sufficiently. I hope that someone actually reads these comments and takes my feedback into consideration.
