I have been a member of the National Home Gardening Club since April 2006. I paid for a "Life Membership" also in April 2006. I thoroughly enjoyed the products received for reviews in the first couple of years, and the periodicals received, and I learned a great deal more than I had ever known about Gardening.
I only today, April 2024 discovered that the Club was found "Guilty" in a Class Action Law Suit decided in 2010, something I had never been advised of to be able to participate. I am sure at this late date, it is impossible to get what would have been my fair share of the suit payouts. That is quite frustrating.
I had known that things had dropped off gradually in the frequency of product and magazine receipts, as time went on, but I did not search for any concrete updates on the Club until now. I just today came across my "Life Membership" card, prompting my more in-depth research on this matter. Up until now, I honestly hadn't given it that much thought.
While I had assumed the Club went out of business at some point, I am most angered by the Class Action Law Suit and not having been made aware of this in 2010 when it was going on. I hadn't had a change in address, email, or phone number, so there is no reasonable rationale as to "why" I was not notified in any manner.
This is only one (1) of three (3) "Lifetime Memberships" I paid for, only to have them go out of business. I guess the different Clubs meant "The Club's Lifetime!"
I haven't, and will not, enter into any "Lifetime Memberships" for anything ever again.
Claimed loss: * Lost funds paid for a "Lifetime Membership" that I did not receive.* Inability to participate in, nor receive my fair share of disbursement resulting from Class Action Law Suit in 2010.
Desired outcome: * Refund of difference between the fee I paid for a "Lifetime Membership" & when I stopped receiving benefits.* Refund of the money owed me as a member who should have been included in the 2010 Class Action Suit.
