Auction is set to TAKE money from people who would not suspect that the PRICE of adding 1 penny to the bid costs 1 dollar.. ! Most online auctions you get what you spend.. if you spend $20 then you get $20 in total increments.. and do NOT spend one dollar to bid only 1 penny on an auction. YOUR COMPANY takes advantage of people use to EBAY.. and there is NO FUN (as your url states) in being USED...
The fact that I was not able to bid manually, added to the insult, with the mandatory Robot zipping thru my $$$ within Seconds!
Your company is a RUSE to steal from people! I want my $19. back.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I tried bid fun and was totally ripped off. I put my max bid in on the robt and all my credits were used up and looking in the history and my name never came up I want my $40.oo back this is a big scam beware.
sstock in the USA
I live in New Zealand as it is Bidfun.co.nz i asumed it would be in NZ$, i did a trial and bought $20. Found they took $52 off my card and did not give me any bids, Rip off, Rip off, They also you cant email to complain either
Its a clear a organised crime. The same biider names appear on all the items which clearly states its their own robots setup to rip off people.
Can anyone stop these thieves?
I am an eBay user... and now glad for this site and having done a little research on this outfit. Too much negativity means only one thing...trouble. I will not be releasing any money to an outfit overseas to begin with, little alone with so many unhappy customers. Past experience tells me to stay away from UK dealings.
I agree - this site is a total rip off - although I fully understood the way the site works before using it (ie. pay $1 for each 2 cent bid) when I was bidding on a couple of items the website crashed - it was not available for many hours after that and when I finally got back on I saw that the auctions I was bidding on were won by somebody else - during the time the website had crashed! Have sent numerous emails complaining about this and requesting my credits for those auctions be refunded but they do not even have the decency to reply. This website is a massive scam it should be shut down.
Yeah, I have grave doubts about this bidding system. Or, even if the other bidders are actually real.
If you work it out, if you are bidding 2 cents a bid, then an item won for $300 (starting from zero) would take 15, 000 bids for everyone involved to bid up to that amount (300 / .02).
This would cost a minimum of $12, 000 if the credit cost is 80 cents (15, 000 x .8).
If a new bid adds 20 seconds to the clock, an item will take around 3 and half days to finish.
NOTE, there is no way to contact them from the website! Very dubious. The only way I could see was to write to them via an address noted in the Privacy statement.
These criminals should be shut down. Bids are placed by the same "users" after the countdown timer has reduced to zero, extending the auction time by days in total. It's impossible for any ordinary user to win an auction. Except, of course, when their server crashes. Look at the "winners" names. Then look at the different sites, eg: ireland and uk. How can the same person win on two sites at the same time?
I challenge polo974 and mattmusician to reveal themselves and tell me how they managed to win Ipads on bidfun for €39.64 and €71.90. I also challenge them to reveal how much they paid for their bidding credits. Bidfun would have received a total of €21, 154 in bid credits for 2 Ipads retailing at €599 each. What robbers!
I totally agree UK dealer Naxopresence UK Ltd is a robber. i spent lot hours and dollars that wasn't any result.
Is any body can tell me if get money back.
FULLY AGREE, I GOT TO WIN AN ITEM " 16GB FLASH DRIVE " BUT RECEIVED NOTHING, EVEN NO RESPOND
OKAY THESE [censor] NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN NOW. EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE BUT THEY HAVE NO CONSCIENCE RIPPING OFF INNOCENT PEOPLE WITH THIS DISGUSTING SCAM. I HAVE APPLIED TO GET ALL MY MONEY THAT THESE FILTHY [censored]ERS STOLE FROM ME BACK FROM PAYPAL SO I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GO. [censor]ING [censor]S!
I agree with the ripoff statements made about "bidfun". Where are the consumer protection laws ? I am proposing that a class action lawsuit be filed against this company if at least to get them shut down . Also disappointed in paypal as I did not think they would be involved with these "scam" [censor] businesses. Anyone know a lawyer who wants to make some money and see a little justice? I think there are consumers all over the world who got ripped off here and would be eager to join.
Yep.. i got sucked in too.. and lost $100 in no time at all. There is no obvious way to contact the company online and they are probably using a bogus address anyway?. Surely this cannot be legal? Apparently they don't even own the products they are selling! .. One auction winner got his product sent to him directly from amazon.com ...
So these guys literally make THOUSANDS of dollars on a product worth a few hundred bucks, that they don't even have in stock!.. they just order the new product for the auction winner from all the profits they make.. or should i say steal!?
Oh yeah.. i forgot to mention what a complete waste of time that site is. You have more chance in winning lotto than winning an auction!
Guys, you need to open a dispute with paypal like I did. When the company bidfun then refuse to reimburse you, you escalate it to a claim. Claim for all of your bids. If paypal get enough claims they should look into this site and get them shut down.
Wow!.. i actually got a reply from them after questioning about a participating bidder :-
Question: > Who is ULYSSE20 and why would they bid more than $2000 for a $400 bid credit auction?
>Please explain?
Hi,
He is an user like all others, buying and paying for his credits like everybody else. He actually only used 724 credits on that auction.
That indeed does not make much sense, but that's beyond our control.
The BidFun team.
It's all [censor], they are liars who have their own robots to bid against innocent people trying to win stuff.
Yes, I finally realized that too.. here is another reply i got from them:-
my question: At 00:18 23/11/2010, wrote:

reply:
Hi,
All auctions have a winner, several dozen auctions are won every day, over 20 000 since we started, so it is definitely not impossible to win. Strategy is an important factor that does make a difference, and there is no random element involved, so it does not qualify as gambling.
The BidFun team.
Yes, not happy got sucked in yesterday, spent $40.00 and got nothing. This is all a scam and I have requested my money back from paypal, which I am not giving up even If I have to take it further. They are a bunch of ripoff and scammers. DO NOT USE THEM
I've lodged a dispute at Paypal as well... so we shall see what happens. I don't expect much, cos i think BidFun have covered their bases? I was silly enough not to read that my credits i paid for were not refundable until after i bought them. Within 10 bids i realized it was all a bit "sus" with the whole bidding process, but could not get a refund on my unused credits. I looked into closing my account, but that meant i would lose all my credits along with it!... So basically the moment you buy your BidFun Credits, you are basically making a donation to the company (of course you may be lucky enough to win an item).
I have to add, that one item i was bidding on (worth $1500 RRP) sold for $330+, which means not only did BidFun make money on the purchased credits (dollar for dollar), BUT they also made over $16, 500 on that one item!... every bid increases by 0.02 cents which costs us $1.00 per bid! Not bad eh? They take their $16, 500 and buy the item from somewhere else on your behalf, and have it sent to you with FREE postage.. how generous of them ;-

These sites in all countries should be shut down. Total rip off where they set up their own automatics bids which just rip peoples money off them.
Here in OZ on 23NOV they auctioned a 32" Tv worth around $600.
Well the winning "bidder", WastingBid.4 used 1924 points or Aussie dollars plus the purchase price of $118.14 to WIN a TV worth $600. $2042 for a $600 TV, now who thinks this might smell a little. TOTAL CRIMINAL RIPOFF, SHOULD BE CHARGED>
yes.. i totally agree. I posted a reply from them about that very topic.. on the previous page. They have also refused to give my $100 back after i submitted a paypal dispute, but i can escalate it to a claim where paypal will take charge of it.
Everyone who paid thru Paypal, file a refund claim, these [censor] must be shut down ASAP.
Has anyone who actually won an "auction", except bidfun points. actually received the item? I won an 8GB sdhc card, wonder if I'll ever see it. I don't think these [censor] are gonna be around to long.
His name is Jacques Caron according to the "whois" database of domain owners. Apparently based in London, but the site is hosted in France (i can't remember where i found that).
and... your point is?... what?.. are you gonna auction them too? :-)
if you want to advertise for free, then go to... PriceOfEggs.shop
Piss off rtdxt, go somewhere else to flog your [censored]e. People here are trying to get their moneyback from this busted [censor] backyard operation known as BIDFUN.
By the way, I escalated my claim to get back my $170.00 from paypal but they said they couldnt close the dispute in my favour. When I received a follow up survey from paypal about how I found them and how they could be improved, I told them they could start by shutting down these bidfun [censor]tards and I let them know how disgusted I was that paypal is affiliated with them.
well try again maybe?... i got ripped off $100 by the bidfun crooks.. but also in the same week i got ripped off $320 by an ebay seller. I stupidly agreed to pay them direct through paypal. I found out in less than half a day that the ebay seller had deregistered and i was told to contact paypal immediately. I thought paypal might be able to intervine that transaction, but they have given the mongrel until 2nd december to supply a proof of postage. Of course i haven't received the iphone i paid for.. and i can kiss the money goodbye it seems. I've been web savvy for 12 yrs now.. can't believe i fell for 2 scams in the same week! Whats f**kn happening with this world?.. who let the [censor]s have access to the internet... i can't wait for the next generation.. not.
Dont worry about the ebay transaction, paypal will refund you for that. It doesnt matter if the seller provides proof of postage or not, it makes no difference. The only way the seller is covered is if they sent the item to you by REGISTERED post, and you have to sign for it. If you never received it, ie, never signed for a registered article, then you will be refunded by paypal. Just escalate it to a claim as soon as enough time passes. As for the funbid mongrels, I opened seven disputes, they refused to refund me so i escalated that to a claim but paypal did not find it in my favour so they closed it. I am still hoping if enough people who have been done over by funbid keep trying to claim through paypal they will eventually smell a rat and shut the [censor] down.
Yeah.. BidFun refused a refund for me as well, so i have escalated it to a claim (paypal). See what happens.
Went on yesterday and after I got $20.oo on my credit card approved...I could not get back on the site to check how well I did...spent at $16.00 and the balance (not much) is yet to be seen.
not relevant to this topic! .. can't you bloody READ!
Shame on me for not searching the company." MASS MAILING TO PAYPAL"; I spoke to paypal, and paypal will not remove this company unless they receive "a large number of complaints". Paypal will not even try to resolve the issue because no merchandise has been produced. MASS MAIL PAYPAL; THEY ARE JUST AS MUCH AT FAULT. My credit card will not investigate for 10 days, and by this time paypal has closed the case.
I see you got a "thats useful" comment; seems this is the only response they give. Excluding, of course, the balls to try to advertise on a complaint site aimed at their company.
Hey FunBid team; You just do not get it. Cranky as isn't agreeing with you. You are such [censor]ing liars, don't bother excusing my lanuage, contact me personally and return my money. You never respond unless you percieve a positive response, even when you are being ripped. I'LL PROVE MY POINT: my issue is resolved.
I see you have proven my point. You are scammers. I am tired of speaking to you. I will direct my issue through consumer protection agencies.
i cant wait til b2cshop.us gets totally ripped off... so then i can console them with .. "its ok dear.. just buy one of my poxy products"
Whoever is behind BidFun is a fraud!
I'm going to report BidFun to the law enforcement in all jurisdictions, first of all in the UK where the person owning the BidFun name is located and next in France where this fraudulent web site is hosted.
Everyone, please do the same. Also everyone raise a dispute through PayPal, it only takes a moment and if PayPal get enough complaints they will shut down this fraudster.
There are 2 things that make the actions of BidFun fraudulent:
1) They take advantage of people being used to NORMAL auction sites like eBay and others, where the normal determination is that the winner of a bid pays the full cost of his bid. Here everybody bidding is paying but only the winner receives the item. BidFun do NOT point this out, you only find that information on their FAQ page which is not even referred to in their page menu, you have to go looking for it.. At the time of charging you and before passing you on to PayPal for payment is where they should clearly point this out, otherwise it constitutes FRAUD!
2) The prices they show on the web page for an item for sale are fraudulent. How so? I was interested in a laptop which they clearly showed had a retail price of $500. They also clearly showed that that item had previously been sold for $20.38, however, as we have all now discovered those are BidFun dollars (BF$). You buy 1 bid for $1 but the bid is only worth $0.02. therefore if an item was indeed sold for BF$20.38 then that is (BF$20.38 X 50 =) $1019! Showing the 2 amounts they way they are being shown constitutes FRAUD!
Raise a dispute with PayPal and pint out the above facts using the amounts shown on the item page you were interested in and take a screen shot of the page to later forward to PayPal when you escalate the dispute to PayPal. Also file complaints of fraud with your local consumer affairs bureau or even the police.
