Diploma mill? Consider this from their latest email:
OPTION III: You can forgo earning a Doctor of Divinity (D.D) degree in favor of an honorary degree. In order to receive an honorary degree, you must answer 75 biblical multiple choice questions and submit a minimum of 1 to 2 pages of your Christian experience. The good news about the test evaluation is that you will have three chances to pass. In the event you fail the test on your first attempt, you can research the correct answers and retake the test. Honorary degrees are granted on the basis of merit; however, archiving honorary credentials for third-party verification requires a One thousand five hundred dollars administrate fee. For those doing the doctorate honorary, you can legally use the title designation - Dr.

Not all the web links are currently active. Official website still lists 2021. Email offers no unsubscribe options. Repeated email requests go unacknowledged, let alone honoured.

I taught in Christian higher education for 17 years. I am currently a doctoral student at a major Canadian institution, holding two theology degrees already. NCTS does not look like any of my other experiences, and I don't think this is a good thing.

Recommendation: There are other options.

It looks like North Central Theological Seminary is raising some serious red flags. Offering a Doctor of Divinity based on a multiple-choice test and a short personal experience write-up, along with charging a hefty fee for "third-party verification," sounds far from the standard academic rigor you'd expect from a legitimate institution. The lack of functioning web links and the absence of proper unsubscribe options only adds to the sketchiness. Given your background in Christian higher education and your current doctoral work, it's easy to see why this doesn’t align with your prior experiences—it’s definitely not looking like a good thing!
