We moved to a new home in Saratoga Springs, UT after working very hard to make that happen. After three days our pipes upstairs were all clogged because a big piece of tile was left in one of the pipes. A huge work for the plumbers who needed to cut open two holes to retrieve the tile. After one week from that, at the first big rain, we got leaks in the house because they forgot to put the coverages for the plumbing pipes on the roof. We paid for a mandatory inspection to be done before closing through their lender Nest ($150 included in closing costs), I wonder who did this inspection? Inside the home we found so many issues: three doors do not close, one step on the stair is badly chipped and it shows from the carpet, and the ac vent in our master barely blows any air. Of course, the warranty team is addressing those issues plus the seven holes they needed to open to fix the water leak, by contract they have to, but this doesn't make us happy. Oakwood should assume responsibility for all the issues happening to us and for the fact that they didn't deliver what we paid for. Now they are cleaning their mess, but we are having workers into our home every day starting at 8:00 am, we lost our peace of mind, our family and vacation time, our privacy, and our right to enjoy our home. If I break something, I'll have to pay for that, if I don't deliver at my job, I might lose my job, correct? Oakwood should act responsibly and send us a formal apology with a reimbursement. A symbolic reimbursement to make amend. Verbal apologies are not enough! The only positive: the warranty team and our sales representative have been responsive and proactive.
Desired outcome: I would like a formal apology with a symbolic reimbursement for what we had to go through. I also want to share my experience with the community for other people to be aware and take precautions.
