In late April, I received a notification for a renewal of my Readers' Digest magazine subscription, payable to "Pacific Magazine Billing". I didn't recognize that company, but I thought Readers' Digest must have outsourced their billing, as other companies have. I sent in a payment of $39.95 on April 26.
Shortly after that, I received another notification for renewal of my Readers' Digest subscription, this time actually from Readers' Digest. I contacted
Readers' Digest and they replied that the Pacific Magazine Billing renewal notification was not from them. They had no record of my renewal payment.
I went online and discovered many other people have had the same problem and they do not receive the magazines they ordered. I checked with my bank and the check I sent in has already been cashed, so I cannot stop payment on it. I have had to open a new checking account, with all the complications that entails, in order to prevent this company from draining my checking account.
Desired outcome: I want a full refund of my money - $39.95.
