I hired peacock home services to do a home remodel for me. I had worked with them before and liked the work they did. This job was much larger and much more expensive.
We closed on home on august 17th, peacock homes began work on aug 22nd. Work seemed to drag and vendors were complaining about the lack of communication and how the process was being handled.
We provided peacock with $125,000 in total prior to a 10/12 stop work order we recieved because the permit was incomplete. At this time, not a single task had been completed.
Peacock at this time bailed out and handed work over to another company they had been working with on our project called Tesar homes. Peacock had Tesar pull the permit because they themselves were not properly licensed.
We learned at this point that any and all work performed by peacock was a code violation and had to be removed.
After 2 months of no communication, Tesar homes offered to finish the job if we paid them an additional 35-50k but warned they would walk away and pull our permit out if we took any action legal or otherwise against peacock to recover our money that was needed to complete the job. I felt like we were being extorted.
Also, as of yesterday we now have a $2,000 lien on our home because peacock didnt pay venders.
We are out $125000 with nothing but a torn-up home to show for it. Both parties claim they do not have our money.
