My fiancee and I were buying our first home and had Peter recommended to us by our realtor. We will not make the same mistake and recommend him to anyone. Our experience with him was awful. The main issue was that he never sent us a crucial document from the sellers that detailed various issues with the property we were trying to buy. Had we seen these documents we would have stopped our purchase right away. Instead we ended up wasting four months of our time waiting for this purchase to play out and ultimately fall apart (thank goodness) when we finally got our hands on the documents in question. Peter emailed the document to us however the attachment was too big(27MB) to be delivered. Later when we questioned him about the document he claimed to never receive a notice that the emails he was sending were returned which was a lie, he accidentally revealed this to us when attempting to send us the document again months later.
But that wasn't even the only issue, he constantly cut us off and tried to make us feel dumb. He would often tell us that we were wasting his time and asking stupid questions and then follow that up with snide comments about how he was losing so much money on our file. If all a lawyer wants to do is make money and doesn't really care about what happens to his clients that is one thing, but to constantly tell the clients that pretty much every time you talk to them, it's flat out disrespectful and rude.
Since our first purchase fell apart (much later than it should have thanks to Peter) we eventually found another place we wanted to buy and used a lawyer recommended to us by two of our friends. This lawyer charged half the price and worked at least five times as hard. He never made us feel dumb and showed genuine interest in making sure we were comfortable with all aspects of our major purchase. Peter is a joke, I have no idea how he is still in business with not only his prices, but his awful service. My advice to you if you are thinking about hiring Peter Humblias, is STAY AWAY!
