My husband and I were interested in The Preserve, a 55+ modular home community near Lake Suzy in Desoto County FL. We placed a $500 refundable deposit on a lot on Feb. 27, 23. We have visited the Preserves three times since they broke ground. It looks like a fabulous community but the home price with the lot fee isn’t practical. A brick and mortar home makes more sense for that price. I canceled our lot within five days of the refundable deposit. The sales person told me that a credit of $500 to my debit card would take place within a couple of days. After two weeks it was not refunded. I called a second time and then a third time, one month later. I would steer clear. If this company can’t handle a refund, how will they manage the community? This is a red flag for prospective buyers.
Desired outcome: A full refund per the deposit agreement.
