In 2001, I paid $18,000 to have my colonial frame house coated with liquid vinyl siding by Procraft of Virginia. Since then, I have had nothing but problems with the product and the company. To date, the house continues to blister, crack, and bubble. It has never looked worse!
All of this would not be as offensive if Procraft honored-- in a timely fashion-- the 25-year product and labor warranty it provides. But this is not --and has not been --the case. Every year, I have had to call to request warranty work—my house has blistered, bubbled, and cracked since the initial application. And every year, I end up having to wait months and months to get any warranty work completed by the company.
In the past, I have written letters to both Greg Deathridge ( general manager) and the Better Business Bureau. And after doing this, I have received a very timely response. However, the next year, when there are more bubbles, cracks, and blisters on my house, I start all over again with the same poor customer service, nonsensical excuses, and delayed responses. My phone calls are rarely returned, unless I get a little testy, and then someone does respond to me but with the same old, worn out excuses and reasons for delay.
The latest excuse I have been given is that I probably have rotted wood—if this is true, then it is Procraft’s problem: I had the house inspected by a representative of your company and paid extra to have some questionable wood replaced by your company prior to the initial application in 2001. At that time, I was told that the product would ensure the protection of the wood. Furthermore, the bubbling, cracking, and chipping are all over the house and not in one or two specific areas, which leads me to believe that it has nothing to do with the quality of the wood but with the product and/or its application. Finally, I am concerned that as a result of some bare wood being exposed to the elements, I will eventually have a rotting problem.
Again I am waiting for warranty work to be done. I initially called this time in April of 2007 and have called repeatedly, each time being told that I am on the list and that work will begin in two weeks. The last time I called, I was told that someone would definitely begin repair work by the end of August. Well the end of August has come, and I have yet to see any warranty work started. No one called to say they were not coming or to offer me any idea of when I might expect someone to come out to begin the work.
I had the same problems that this person had. I too wrote to BBB and contacted Greg Deathridge. The end result was that Procraft of Virginia went out of business. DUh! Now Greg is owner and operator of a new business: Window World. At least, he was last summer (07). I hope no one does business with Window World. I wouldn't do business with any company associated with Greg Deathridge. From my perspective, he was a very, very poor business manager and out to get people's money. My house liquid siding job cost $14, ooo.
And I thought it was just me and my house! Ha ! We paid 20k to have our " Homerara" home painted by Procraft of Va. They sprayed the product on our siding and there is rotted wood and blistering on the wood as well as texture problems and a general uneven look .We called many times to attempt to have these problems fixed. Finally we we told to contact the Insurance company of the man PROCRAFT contracted to do the work.. The insurance company said he was not liable for the damages because it wasn't an accident! We have gotten estimates for the damage, and one is 30 k! Greg Deathridge is very deceitful.. I can't tell you how many times we have been told "We will make it right." I guess honesty and integrity are not as important to some as the almighty dollar. I hope all involved with this shady business have trouble sleeping at night. I'm callling Procraft in the Richmond area. I will not give up easily.I will not just be quiet and go away as he did.
I too had my home in Jackson NC in 2006 treated with the liquid siding by Pro Craft of Virginia. It is now Nov. 2008 and the siding is starting to buble, split and peel. I have tried to call every number I have (disconnected) I called Liquid Siding Co in MD and was told Pro Craft is out of business and they will not go out of the state of MD. My husband and I are 69 years old and want to retire and have no upkeep worries. Guess that dream is over now. I agree with the one gentleman that says we need to start a class action suit. How do we go about doing that. No company or person should be allowed to get away with what Pro Craft has gotten away with. They need to pay us.
I experienced the same problem. The paint is peeling to the point that I will have to have my whole house trim repainted. This company is a complete rip off and the product is not what they proclaim it to be. Beware of Procraft Liquid Siding, they are not a reputable company.
