This company has no data to offer. After going as far as I could with a free site, I signed up for this and paid $29,95. I cannot even find records on people like my late father for whom I have all relevant dates. What a rip-off, I e-mailed them and tried to cancel my membership and got nothing but an e-mail back promising further useless help.-

Rip off. They don't even have access to records that are freely available to the public.

I was searching for my birth mother, I was told on the internet that adoption records could be found and they had a match for my birth mother, after paying the 29.95 it was a whole different story, I couldn't find any records at all, I couldn't even find any records on myself or any of my family. It is a rip off

I, too fell for this so-called company's offer for a "one-time charge of $39.95" for lifetime unlimited access to their "vast" database, which they describe as all-inclusive. And I also got NO results, even for names that should have without question been in the databases. I contacted my credit card company immediately and they will reverse the charge, but I also contacted ClickBank and told them the situation and suggested they check out the RecordsArea.com company (also known as Gov-Records.com). Cannot find a way to e-mail RecordsArea OR Gov-Records to tell them what I think!

Why doesn't someone stop these ###?!

Same here. Today is July 10, 2008. I just got ripped off by recordsarea.com. Something needs to be done about these guys. Now I have to call the credit card company to cancel the card today.

Same situation, I placed the order $29.95, went searching and got nothing in return. No records were found.

I guess they just sit there and collect people's credit card info, charge it and God knows what else.

A complete scam! I searched for records that I knew should be available and got nothing.
This web site "company" lauded itself as being able to access numerous public records. It uses already "free" sites and nothing else, however it "sells" itself as being very thorough and comprehensive.
I paid $39.95 for "unlimited access".
SAP because it misrepresents itself, takes you credit card information and money for a product it does not produce.
When inquiry made about the lack of services that site was supposed to offer, no response.

I haven't been helped with any information.

I purchased a membership last night for $29.95 to search for an individual using a license plate number.
I have not received the information that I requested and when I continued to ask for assistance, I got no response. This is theft! Can someone help me?

within a few minutes of trying to find ANY information other than phone book info, I called my credit card company which said that you can wait until the charge posts, about 3 days, then call the credit card company and they will cancel payment if it is a fraudulant company. Good luck!

I paid my money in hopes of researching some individuals, they promised access to all types of records. I could not find myself, my son, my father in any of their searches. COMPLETE RIP-OFF, and they offer no easy access to cancell your account. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!

I agree. I wish I truly had googled this site beforehand (as my bank agent told me to do next time). I know that in the past I have found good sites like Intelisus that I have been able to use to find info. I called my bank immediately and had them put a stop payment on it. Also emailed the support at records area as well as click bank stating I am cancelling my account and also adding to click bank that I think that recordsarea is a scam site so hopefully click bank will drop them as a customer. although who knows about click bank...

I ditto every single one of the above complaints! It looked like a reputable site to me but I wish I had read the complaints first. I just joined an hour ago, and absolutely nothing I asked for came up. I "tried" it out by looking up the data on my own family members and relatives, and...NADA! This is definitely a fraudulent site and they should send refunds to everyone! I HATE it when this happens!

I also got nailed by these people. I'm a fairly intelligent guy but their website is so convincing that I signed up for it. Luckily, I have a very good relationship with American Express that they immediately returned the 29.95 these ### charged for their LACK OF SERVICE.

I'm going to start researching website from now on before signing up for ANYTHING! I suggest people do the same. I was a sucker but you live and learn!

RecordsArea.com is a complete scam. When you input a name it will take you to another website to join. If you can get pass this scam. Once you attempt to scan records it will stop you and ask for 19.99 for unlimited daily scans. I was charged 39.99 and was offered this service for 19.99. It tells you at the top of the page you have 5 credits. underneath that you can purchase more credits. On the day I joined this website I never had access to my account. 2 weeks later I have tried to obtain information to no avail!

Same sorry experience as everybody here. Got suckered in by what I thought was an official government web site (or a government sponsored website). I feel like an idiot; this is only the 2nd time I've been fooled on the internet (that's twice too many) but I contacted this company's bank clkbank.com at [protected] who say they will issue a full refund for the $39.95 of my so-called "lifetime" subscription. I did about 20 or so searches on people I knew and came up empty every time, and discovering in the process that I was burning through "credit points", after which I would have to pay for each search. I contacted company multiple times and got either no answer or absurd answers (asking me to reiterate my question while resending me my own words); their service stinks which is logical since this looks like a scam. The fellow at Clkbank told me they are a legitimate company but that their database is very limited. When I see how long the complaints stretch back in months, I am compelled to assume the worst since they are advertising under false pretenses, even offering a dry run on a name check and then telling you they found the information you're looking for but can't release until you subscribe; but once you've subscribe, they then inform you there is no information on that name. Talk about baiting the hook. Caveat Emptor.

After paying $29.95 no information was available. How can a site be allowed to do this? After realizing I had been ripped off, I started looking for complaints and found plenty of them.
