This redman manufactured home we have is about 26' x 44'. We purchased the existing structure in 2018. Manufactured in 2006. The roof is a 4/12 slope. The interior ceiling is a sloped ceiling with the center or middle of the ceiling being about 18"higher than the side wall. Like a scissors truss.
It has an attached garage that was apparently made on site as the roof trusses are made quite different than the house. Looks like 2" x 4"s.
We noticed the house heater seemed to come on in the winter more than it probably should. To consider adding blown in insulation I had to open the gable end to view what was in the attic.
After opening I could not believe what I seen.
Everything is made out of 2" x 2"squares. Not even sure they are a full 2 x 2 inches. I mean everything. What the osb is attached to is 2" x 2". The braces 2" x 2". The interior ceiling is on the 2" x 2"'s. EVERYTHING. Looks like something that would be in a mobile home.
And insulation is maybe 6" thick. In places maybe even less.
We are in northeast Wisconsin.
I can't believe this roof truss system would meet the building codes. We are in fear if we get 3 feet of snow the roof will collapse possibly injuring us or worse killing us.
And does the insulation amount meet code?
I heard numerous complaints agains't Redman but it appears nothing has happened or being done.
Is it possible to file a class action law suit agains't redman? I think they are based in Pa.
If anyone would like to contact me initially it would be best through gmail or text as my phone does not have voice mail.
Desired outcome: Please someone respond. We need help. We need a complete new roof system through the company. Now we are assuming that Redman is going to do nothing. So perhaps skip asking for a new roof and lets start hearing from some lawyers.
