Citicards Citicards making fun of customers?

I sent customer service the following email, and got the most irrelevant answer. Who is writing the responses? They even say they "value my business". This is simply ridiculous.
Here is my email, followed by the funny response:
Hi, I am currently and actively using my citi credit card. However I am planning to apply for a new credit card to transfer my balance from a personal loan outside from another credit union. I would like to take advantage of 0% intro APR for balance transfers offered with many credit cards out there in the market. Before moving onto other banks, I want to see what Citibank has to offer to its loyal customer. The personal loan I got from a credit union was 20000 (twenty thousand) last summer and I have been paying my monthly payments seamlessly. The problem is that I find it not fair to pay 12% interest rate for this with my excellent credit history and also when there are many opportunities for 0% APRs for about two years. Plus, I am expecting a dramatic increase in my earnings in a year or two, so I maybe able to pay off the whole debt avoiding any interest at all in the next two years. What would be an appealing offer or an adequate promotional card for me to apply among citi credit cards? I would like to also discuss on the phone since I have more details to ask about the offers. My phone number is on your files of course, but for your convenience, it is ***-***-****. Best time to call is today after 10pm, or any time during Sunday. For weekdays, it depends on a complicated meeting schedule, so you could try calling me leaving a message with a phone number to call back. Or email me from [protected]@gmail.com. Best regards, ***** *****.
Here is the response:
There are currently two Balance Transfer offers available on this account.

This offer has a 3% Balance Transfer fee for each amount transferred with a $5.00 minimum fee.

Your account is also eligible for a promotional Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 0.00% which will be effective until 08/01/2013. Any balances transferred to your account from other creditors will receive this promotional APR. The rate becomes effective the date the Balance Transfer is completed.

Dear "Rose Nyland:"

I don't see anything odd or unusual about what they told you - in very clear terms no less. Pretty typical in todays banking system. There are no hobgoblins.

Apparently Citi card customer satisfaction is at all time low.
Jud Linville of Citigroup serves as the Chief Executive Officer of "Citi Cards."
He needs to correct poor business practices at Citi. The Customer mistreatment, excess interest rates and hateful treatment of Citi card owners . Creating phantom debt and drilling it to customers is wrong!
Perhaps his NEW boss (Michael L. Corbat ceo) would be interested in the poor customer service under Mr Linville.
Citi has just been approved by China to expand it's credit card business, there. If China knew how poorly US customers were treated
I doubt they would allow Citi card into China! This maybe email address for citi Mike Corbet ceo, speakers@citi.com
fyi, these are my opinions only.

Citi card charged EXCESSIVE interest rates to me. I have perfect credit and never missed any payments. They jacked up the interest rates which raised my balance faster than I could pay it off. I called and got NO assistance from rude Citi personnel. The mounting balance grew so fast I could not see how to make payments. I had to let it go to charge off. It is now charged off and Citi still sends crazy high interest charge bills and escalates the balance. This pratice makes it impossible to pay off.
I do not know how this can be allowed in America.
American public should never have to pay more than 3% over cost of funds for this service. FYI: Citi only pays 0.25 % (fedfunds rate) yet they charge customers 26%. HELP !
BIG Banks like CITI are rich crooks!

Citicards Charging Excessive fees & Interest on a closed account

I paid off my balance and closed the account on July 1, 2009.

For the past 2 weeks I am getting calls that my payment is past due, so I called them and they told me it was residual finance charges, the agent I talked to said she would put through a credit for this outstanding amount. IT WAS DENIED! They never communicated that to me, and the phone calls started again this time the agent I spoke with told me I owed the interest on the statement that I PAID OFF! They said is was normal credit card practices to charge the final interest after the balance is paid off because they do not know how much to charge with the statement is generated! Yeah, OK.

They never sent me a final statement, it wasn't until these calls started that I discovered the card was not closed and they were looking for more money! I paid my balance off on July 1, 2009 they charged me 85.99 in interest on July 15, 2009. Because of their new going green I was paperless, they gave me some BS reason about my email bouncing so I did not get my statement, what a pack of lying dirtbags!

They got bailout money? FOR WHAT! I will never do business with Citigroup ever again!

I tried to contact citicards today and tell them that I had given a credit card consolidation company "power of attorney" to settle my account. I asked for help in December and citicards upped my apr to 29.9% to help me out. I am on the verge of bankruptcy and can only last a little while longer. Citicards told me on the phone that my account is closed due to nonpayment for 30 plus days. They also wanted a copy of my power of attorney. I could not get on line and told them over the phone"you don't need that, just try and settle up with the company before I have to file bankruptcy. " I guess they need money to get ready for thier spring bonuses. I will be watching for my next statement and see how many fees they tack on. If my account is closed how can you charge me a fee on top of the juice interest they already charge me. Maybe we should all file bankruptcy and let citicards feel like all us poor american taxpayers. It is sad when someone ask for help and citicards just keeps on increasing your interest to ensure thier own bonuses. Never again should taxpayer's money be used to save the big crooks, let em rot in hell with the rest of us.

Well, the consumer is one that sets up the paperless statements by enrolling in them online via the Account Online website (http://www.citicards.com). Citi does not automatically enroll any one in paperless statements.

It is up to you to add (or you administrators) to add the citicards@info.citibank.com email address to your whitelist/address book to ensure the delivery of the email message indicating your statement is ready.

If your email provider does a bounce back (thinking it's spam) or if they get any other bounce-back email (ie. mailbox full, invalid email) the system automatically drops a note on the account.

Therefore, the charges are valid, and you do seem to understand the residual finance charge information..

Citicards Awful bank

I have had this credit card for many years. My apr has always been 9.99%. Today I received my bill, my interest rate had gone up from 9.99% to 14.99. I have never been late with payments, always paid on time. I use to pay $300.00 a month now because of my higher apr it's gone up to $340.00 a month. Instead of banks charging those who make late payments, the banks have decided due to bad economic times that those who have excellent payments history have to become victims of higher Apr's without prior notification. They claim they notified me, they never sent me anything of the sort inside my mailer along with my statement. I haven't charged in months either. This tactic is unfair, unjust and if this keeps up the bankruptcy rate in this country of ours will escalate for sure.

Iam out $1400 because of this. Regret using citicards. Please do not go with this company. They do not protect you against any scams or frauds. If you lose your card you are on your own. If you get robbed they dont care you still have to pay for someone else's shopping trip

They have threatened me that they will be going through collection agencies- or litigation. Also threatening me with adverse information to the credit reporting agencies. Someone from this company, by the name of Michael Douglas is harassing members of my family. He has been calling my grandmother's house, stating that he is looking for Jennifer Tozier in regards to an investigation he is conducting. She told him she didnt know where this person was, and then told him she didnt know how to contact her. He then stated that he needed her numbers. Acted really shady. She said she didnt have them and he hung up on her. Then he keeps calling her, after she has told him once she doesnt know her number or addresses. First of all, these people should not call random people that have nothing to do with you to try to suck information out of them; that is not right! Second, after she stated that she had no way to contact her, he should have stopped calling her right then andthere. Has anyone else had problems like this?

1. Informed that there were two questionable charge attempts against my card. Asked about them, but was told only about one of them. They indicated they would close the account, open a new one, and I would not be liable for the fraudulent charge. 2. Fine. Except that when the new account was opened it included the fraudulent amount in my balance. Questioned this through a contact and was like "talking to a wall". He couldn't answer why I was being billed interest on a charge I didn't make and, also, why this would also reflect on my high blalnce of the month (which would be reported to the credit bureaus. 3. Attmepted to contact them through the secure messaging service, but couldn't access it becuase of evident web programming problems. 4. Credit card companies charging "thorugh the nose" while offering shoddy customer service. Oh, yeah. We're getting better.

Same I had this card for over 20 years. I did not receive bill on mail at home. I had paid the whole amount for that month. Then I got an email that due to your are late for payment your credit line is reduce to 1620? i.e from 25, 000. I call them they told me that you elect to paperless email statment that is why you did not receive paper statment. Because of $50 to reduce from 25K to 1.5k. that does not make sense. Citi bank is not good bank.

How did you get them to lower it? Repeated requests to talk to a supervisor? I'm trying to get them to lower mine and they say they won't because I was late on 2 payments within the past 12 months.

Citicards Shyster credit card

Citicards, Texas. I have had the extreme misfortune of getting involved with Citicards.

I applied for and received a Citicard MasterCard around October of last year, lured by the lie of 0% interest for a year and a moderately decent credit limit. I paid monthly and on-time, but was one day late back in March. At which time, I was hit with 32% interest! For being one day late.

If that wasn't enough, I started getting the phone calls. At home, at work--which I quickly put a stop to, informing them that they were not allowed to call me at my place of employment under my protection in the Fair Credit Act--EARLY mornings on the weekends, the works!

I scratched up the money to pay Citicards off, and informed them by phone, the last time they decided to call and harass me that I desired the account closed immediately. I thought I paid them off in June.

But I was wrong.

I got an email today about a statement, and decided to call to find out what in the world was happening. If my account's closed, and I've paid off this card, then I shouldn't still get statements, right? Yeah, right.

Long story short, after being hung up on a couple of times by the computer and one of the representatives, the balance that was listed on my statement, the one I paid from, was incorrect. I owe Citi $150 more, including finance charges.

After all the hell I've gone through with them, I am going to pay the balance off, but because of the harassment and the insanity I've been through with them, I have decided to have a "plascetomy"--get rid of all my credit cards and go straight cash.

I can live without the anger that comes dealing with the so-called customer service representatives that man the phones of these credit card call centers. I also plan on writing the Attorney Generals of both South Dakota and New York as well as the one here in Texas about Citicard's bait and switch techniques as well as the harassment I've experienced with them. Letters of complaint will also go to the Better Business Bureaus of each city/state as well.

Dealing with the people of Citicards in these past months has driven home something I've heard for many months now. "The borrower is slave to the lender."

I won't be a slave to them--or any of these shyster credit card and lending companies--again.

I had a credit card account with Citi bank, paid them off, and cancelled the account. Since then they have sent promotional offers with the checks. I've called them several times asking them to stop sending the checks. I'm tired of being ignored. They use the last 4 numbers of my cancelled account. I thought if an account was cancelled the numbers would be cancelled also. I worry that someone could get a hold of these checks and do harm to my credit. It is also a waste of paper. I am against waste of our natural resources.

What more can I do to make them stop? I will not use Citi bank again.
