Fraud / Scam
Contacted by Corporate Acquisitions Group representative stating they had an interested party in our business. Upon returning their call, I was informed that a representative of their company would be in my area and would do a "site evaluation and analyist" they stated that I would need several years of P&L's available for inspection etc. I stated that this could be arranged and in getting ready for the visit, I did some checking on this company and its executives. It turns our that the President a Mr. Ty Tymkovich has been running this scam under other company names in other parts of the country. As others have stated, this is a scam to get you to pay them thousands of dollars for a business valuation by a third party company that provides CAC with a healthy commission for this bogus valuation. If you pay, they then list your business on some internet sites that you can do yourself for pennies like merger network, business for sale.com, etc and keep your money for nothing. Once I brought the facts to light with their representative and the fact that Mr. Tymkovich is an ex-con, he stated that he was unaware of this as "He" was an outside independent agent and that he would investigate and get back to me. I never heard anymore as their turth was out and they we're going to rip this businessman off. I suggest anyone who would do business with this firm first, research the key executives and look for complaints they are all the same. Busiensses that were ripped-off for up-front money for nothing. These executives opened and closed other companies before this one in states like Georgia with similiar names. Don't fall for this scam.

Attorney General announces $2 million judgment against fraudulent Englewood-based business brokers
08/23/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an Arapahoe County District Court judge has approved a settlement barring Tyrone E. Tymkovich (DOB: 12/30/1967) of Aurora and Sam Levine (DOB: 2/1/1967) of Castle Rock from soliciting or defrauding Colorado businesses through their business brokerage. Tymkovich and Levine will be required to pay $1 million each to the state in fines and restitution.
According to the Office of the Attorney General’s lawsuit, filed in December 2009, Tymkovich and Levine defrauded more than 700 businesses in Colorado and other states between July 2006 and September 2009 through their two Englewood-based businesses, Corporate Acquisitions Group and Global Acquisitions Group. Tymkovich and Levine approached businesses and informed them that either buyers were interested in acquiring their firms or their businesses could be sold. Tymkovich, Levine and their employees convinced their victims to allow them to conduct an appraisal of their business for $5, 000. Of the $5, 000 Tymkovich and Levine’s businesses collected from their clients, only about $1, 000 of the fee was actually devoted to completing the appraisals.
Under the settlement, neither Tymkovich nor Levine will be allowed to act as business brokers for any new clients or solicit upfront appraisal fees from any existing clients. The settlement also requires that Tymkovich and Levine notify the Office of the Attorney General of any commissions paid by existing clients and demonstrate that these commissions are the result of actual brokered sales.
The Office of the Attorney General obtained a contempt order against Tymkovich earlier this month after he admitted to continuing to solicit businesses using the alias “Adam Smith” for a New Jersey based company, HDI Consultants. Under the contempt order, which stemmed from his violation of a Feb, 18, 2010 court order, Tymkovich was required to pay $160, 000.
Attorney General announces $160, 000 contempt judgment against business broker Tyrone Tymkovich
08/05/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an Arapahoe County District Court judge has ordered Tyrone E. Tymkovich (DOB: 12/30/1977) of Aurora to pay $160, 000 after he violated a Feb. 18, 2010 order barring him from soliciting businesses as a broker.
According to the contempt judgment, Tymkovich admitted to continuing to solicit businesses using the alias “Adam Smith” for a New Jersey based company, HDI Consultants. The contempt judgment permanently bars Tymkovich from continuing any solicitation or sales of his broker services. Tymkovich also admitted to failing to make proper disclosures while acting as a business broker, including that “the likelihood of (Tymkovich) selling a business is less than one out of a hundred based on past performance” and “that [Tymkovich’s] company has generated more than $2.8 million in revenue from monies collected for valuations, yet it has earned less than $100, 000 from actual sales of businesses.”
The Office of the Attorney General filed a lawsuit against Tymkovich, and Sam Levine (DOB: 2/1/1967) of Castle Rock on suspicion that they, through their two Englewood-based businesses, defrauded more than 700 businesses in Colorado and other states between July 2006 and September 2009. According to the complaint, Tymkovich, Levine or their employees at Englewood-based Corporate Acquisitions Group and Englewood-based Global Acquisitions Group would approach small businesses and inform them that either buyers were interested in acquiring their firms or their businesses could be sold. Tymkovich, Levine and their employees are accused of convincing more than 700 businesses in Colorado and other states to allow them to conduct an appraisal of their business for $5, 000. Of the $5, 000 Tymkovich and Levine’s businesses collected from their clients, only about $1, 000 of the fee was actually devoted to completing the appraisals.
Tymkovich and Levine also are alleged to given the clients a money-back guarantee in the event of no sale occurring. However, Tymkovich and Levine only followed through when a business complained to either the Better Business Bureau or the authorities, according to the complaint.
12/19/09: A pair of Colorado businessmen are accused of persuading more than 700 businesses in this and other states to pay thousands of dollars for unnecessary net-worth appraisals, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers' office said Friday.
Businessmen Tyrone Tymkovich of Aurora and Sam Levine of Castle Rock — and their businesses, Corporate Acquisition Group and Global Acquisitions Group — were named in a lawsuit filed in Arapahoe County that accuses them of convincing small-business owners that potential buyers were ready to acquire their firms and needed an appraisal.
Of the $5, 000 the men charged for their service, just $1, 000 of the fee was actually devoted to the appraisal. They also are accused of overstating their business success in order to lure clients and of giving money-back guarantees they didn't always honor.
Suthers is seeking restitution for victimized businesses and an injunction against future fraud.

The website for Global Acquisitions (www.globalacq.com) has been taken down. I wonder what new name Ty Tymkovich and friends will emerge under?
To restate: Ty Tymkovich is trying to run his scam under the name Global Acquisitions.
You can see the BBB listing for Global Acquisitions here:
http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-reviews/business-brokers/global-acquisition-in-englewood-co-90103397?&language=1#complaint
It lists Ty Tymkovich as the owner of Global Acquisitions.
The company currently does not come up when you search for it on bbb.org. I think enough people have complained to the BBB that they pulled the ability to look up the company.
The above poster, "Devil1234", is Tyrone Edward Tymkovich. He has posted the same comment on other consumer complaints message boards in a flaccid attempt to deflect attention from his sinking scam business valuation company, and his criminal history.
"You can write anything, anytime, and it doesn’t have to be true...let's wreck some lives.."
Here is a comment where Tyrone Edward Tymkovich, president of Corporate Acquisitions/Global Acquistions Group LLC "anonymously" commits online character assassination and defamation of character:

This stuff is great! This Ty guy must be the Devil himself. I read online that all the unemployment is his fault too. I also heard he ran several of the banks that went out business. He made all the bad loan decisions for Citibank, Wells Fargo, and bank of America. All of them. He is the sole reason that our economy has failed. I hate this guy. He also worked for AIG under an assumed name. As their CEO. Wasn’t AIG the start of all the worlds’ woes? He was the reason for all this. I might add, I can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he is the reason the State of California is bankrupt and that there are 4 million unemployed people. Also, though I can’t prove it, but I can show you articles that would indicate he is the reason for every foreclosure that ever happened in the last 12-18 months. They think foreclosures before that are Sam Levine's fault. But obviously, these two are VERY bad news! Stay away, and protect this country.
People, read what I just wrote. You can write anything, anytime, and it doesn’t have to be true. The internet is great. Let’s wreck some lives. Legislation is coming that will force people to validate identity on posting sites like this. That will be the end of this. People won’t put their names to it. Good luck harming people when you have to validate your name and identity with a 25 cent credit card charge for validation. Ha-ha. Good luck them. You will have to find a new method.
I heard Bill Gates robbed a bank to start Microsoft. Warren Buffet and Donald Trump turned tricks on the street. I heard that Billy Joel smokes $100 marijuana filled joints up his butt. Wow. Its fun to lie isn’t it. I might do this more. It is fun to screw with people.
Tyrone E. Tymkovich has plead guilty to theft, a class 2 misdemeanor, and forgery of a check, a class 5 felony. On March 13, 2009, Tyrone E Tymkovich also plead guilty to disturbing the peace, and to threats to person/property. Tyrone E. Tymkovich has repeatedly failed to notify the Colorado board of Real Estate of his criminal convictions, as stipulated by law.

Tyrone E. Tymkovich worked with Marvin R. "Randy" Hicks at Alliance Acquisitions Associates, another business valuation scam company.
Marvin Randolph Hicks: One count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, six counts of wire fraud via telephone calls and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
According to the indictment:
– PBS offered clients a “100 percent money back guarantee” that it would find qualified buyers for their businesses. When clients tried to claim the refund, PBS denied their claims.
– Sellers were required to pay a designated fee to PBS for acting as an intermediary with buyers, a designated sum for hiring an independent firm to prepare a valuation of the business that was being sold, and a fee for successfully matching a seller and a buyer, which would be due two days after the sale.
– PBS received very little money from completed buy/sale transactions. More than 98 percent of the money PBS received from clients was for independent third party business valuations.
– In order to deny the guaranteed refunds, PBS provided clients with sham matches. The buyers PBS claimed were qualified in fact had no interest in purchasing the clients’ businesses.
– In order to deny the guaranteed refund, PBS provided clients with references identifying individuals who were represented as business owners who had sold their businesses through the efforts of PBS. In fact, these references were the owners of PBS or PBS analysts and had never owned a business sold by PBS.

Sam Levine, the CEO for Corporate Acquisitions Group LLC., has a history of perpetrating fake grant writing schemes with "American Public Grant Consultants", as well as his work with Corporate Acquisitions/Global Acquisitions.
Corporate Acquisitions Group is now rated "F" by the BBB, so Tyrone Tymkovich has reopened under a new name: Global Acquistions (http://www.globalacq.com/company.html).
Global Acquisition's listing on the BBB has its contact as Tyrone Tymkovich, with the same phone number and alternate address as CAG. It's one and the same, but now the "new" company looks like it has no complaints on the BBB website. Don't fall for it!

Scam and fraud!
Corporate Acquisitions Group contacted me and said they had a serious buyer for my business. I met with one of their business analysts, who took some numbers and said they could find a buyer for my business within a year. The catch was that I had to pay $8000 upfront (a very inflated price) for a business valuation. He promised that if I did not sell my business within one year, they would refund the $8000.
It sounded too good to be true, and it was. I read the contract, and it actually states that CAG's obligation is to present us with qualified buyers who may be interested in buying our business... so in other words, as as long as they refer some interested folks to us, they do not have to refund our money. Quite a bit different from the verbal promise that we will get our money back if they do not sell our business within one year.
A search of complaintsboard.com shows several other 'business brokers' operating in a similar fashion - Alliance Acquisitions, Legacy Acquistions, etc. All received complaints, and all either shut down or changed names in order to avoid answering complaints or refunding money from unhappy business owners.
CAG's sales practices are misleading and unethical at best. Don't fall for it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Thank you all for sharing such a valuable information on this topic, after using the information that you guys have provided my business has run well and my doubts have also been clearify regarding my business which is find a buyer for my business.
I have personally received verbal threats from him, the sopranos’ have got nothing on him….
So far, no horse head in my bed…..
Final note: No president of any company I have ever had the pleasure of working for or working with would ever, and I mean ever, stoop to his level of intimidation…

Attorney General announces $160, 000 contempt judgment against business broker Tyrone Tymkovich
