I received a flyer in the mail advertising lose 40lbs in 2 days, being desperate I jumped on it. I sent $94.92 by check and I have not received anything. I should have known better no email or phone number for customer service. Now I am out $94 that I really couldn't afford in the first place. My bank says I have to file a criminal complaint with the FBI or small claims court. I don't see how you can file a complaint on a Po Box. I really hope something can be done about this I noticed in some of the complaints different amounts were charged.
Slim 44 Fraud checks cashed no product sent
I sent a check for this product in September and it was cashed on the 24th. As of today Oct. 30th I have not received anything. No notice, to product, no phone call, nothing. I see that there are many other complaints of the same kind. Why has the better business bureau not checked this company out?
Slim-tab - weight loss product
I received this mailing Sept 5, 2015 from Slim-tab 91-J Auburn Street Dept #1163, Portland ME 04103 USA Received the advertisement and mailed in a check, it was cash but I never received any product. There isn't a phone number to contact the company. From what I read it doesn't do any good to mail a letter because you don't receive any response. I would like to see this company(scam) closed down and return my money.
Yes you've been scammed. I have gotten 20+ calls about this because my company in Portland Maine has a similar name and Directory assistance is giving out my company' phone number when asked for Direct MRKT!
The address is a PO box in a shopping mall in Portland - no store - no office.
I called local police and the Attorney General's office in Maine to make them aware. Local police said they've gotten reports about this PO
Box before and unfortunately they cannot do anything about it because the orders are coming in from out of state so your local police would have to open an investigation based on your complaint to them. I keep telling the people who call to check the website to learn about this scam and to not order if no phone number or website is listed. I ordered this product on Sept. 14, 2015 and here it is a month later and I have never received. I sent a personal check and just now read the other complaints as well. I felt like this was a scam, but did not go with my intuitions (mistake!). My check was mailed to Slim-Tab, 91-J Auburn St., Dept #1163, Portland, ME. 04103 USA. The company was Direct Marketing. I paid $64.95 for 2 packages + 9.95 SH, for a total of $74.90. I would like my money refunded. Thank you for your help & I will be anxious to hear from you concerning this matter. Sheba Kothman P.O. I ordered this product for weight loss because it was stated by doctor and dietician that it worked well and was guaranteed to work I am on social security and can not afford to throw away $100 dollars I was so excited to think I might finally be able to lose weight and get healthier then a couple weeks later received a ad for slim tab from the same marketers I ordered the product on July 24 and they cashed my check on July 31 I did send them a letter asking about my order with phone number and email for them to contact me with no answer These people should be prosecuted for mail fraud the address is 91-Jauburn St, Dept #1163 Portland, ME 94103 There needs to be some way to make these people answer for what they are doing I waited this long because it can take six to eight weeks sometimes when you order stuff but it has now been that long Please let me know if there is any other way to handle this problem
If this happened to you you are NOT ALONE. Please report this to your post office. The address of Direct Marketing is 91 Jauburn Street, Dept # 1163 Portland, ME 94103. I was also advised to ask for a copy of the cashed check from the bank or the copy of the cashed money order and take it to the police dept with this address and file a complaint. Also contact the better business bureau. The more of us that do this will give us a better chance at stopping these ****** *******. Please do these things so that other people wont get ****** too. Thank you. PS if this happened to you dont feel like an ****. It can happen to anyone (and I am a trivia champion with a high I Q. ). It will be alright. God bless you and your family.
my mother too ordered this product and mailed $89.90 on August 6, 2015. Her check was cashed but she never received her order. The only number she could find was a Direct Marketing: [protected]. she called many times & left VM's. A man did return her call however he said that he is not linked to this product and does not know what she is talking about. My mother is 81 yrs. old and is overweight and has medial issues. I find it appalling that these scammers always target senior citizens. I would like to know how I can go about getting my Mother's money refunded. She lives on very limited income and we will take this matter to court. I will pay the fees for her because I am so SICK AND TIRED OF SCAM ARTIST WHO HAVE TO PREY ON INNOCENT PEOPLE TO MAKE THEIR LIVING. I ordered SLIM44 on July 20 for $89 by check made payable to Direct Marketing--I never received the product. My check was cashed on July 31. I sent a letter on August 26 asking why I hadn't received the product, but received no response by mail or by email. The advertising listed no phone number or email to contact the company, supposed located at 91-Jauburn St, Dept 1163, Portland ME.
Very slick marketing, with photos of doctors involved (Paul Clerquin--Chairman of European Weight Control Center;, and John Morgan--Dietician and Nutritionist) but I'm convinced this is a total SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!
Never received product today is july 3rd 2016 they cashed check in april scam no contact information no web site, phone number nothing shame on them .
December 2nd, 2009 my visa card from the Royal Bank of Canada was charged $79.90 us. for software which I did not order. I was not able to get any contact information from Visa to contest this charge.
ok got a hold of people in Maine post office said this is possible mail fraud since we receive the pamphlets in the us mail and pay through the us mail i filed a complaint used form for mail fraud with postal inspections under USPS.com there is also a person Spera phone # [protected]
i have the same problem lost $99 for slimx2 check cashed no product still waiting decided to check internet and found same complaint from so many says its mail fraud fbi should investigate how can we get some kind of satisfaction?
I sent in a check for 119.00 and I received nothing also. I am so upset. Is there anything we can do to get our money back? Is there anywhere else we can write to or is there anyway we can get a ohone number? I still have all the paperwork from the original ad that I ordered from.
Same thing happened to me! I sent in a check for $119.90 to the same address for the Slimx2 and they cashed my check in May. I am so so so MAD! Why won't the BBB do anything about it? Tried looking everything up to find ANY info but the only thing I found was this. How could of I been so blind by this scam! Like people just have money to throw away! Shame on you Direct Market! NEVER AGAIN!
Purchased on 4/25/16 they cashed my check and still have not received any product. sent a check for $100 this really makes me mad! Anything we can do about this scam?
Purchased Slim X2 also. Check cashed but no product. Has to be a scam which I fell for.
I also sent a check for $119.90 to Direct Market on April 20, 2016. It was for Slim X2, a weight loss product that you take at bedtime to lose weight. It's been a month and I have received nothing. They cashed my check on April 28, 2016. The address was SLIM X2, c/o Direct Market, 201 US-1, Suite 227, Scarborough, ME 04074. Anyone know what can be done to report this, and to whom? So angry!
i did call the ups store and gave them the information. The suite number on the return envelope is a box number so he is going to let the manager know. Hopefully this will take care of at least this scammer.

I hope everyone heeds this warning and looks into these scammers carefully before money is lost! If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! The best way to stop this behavior is to notify the mail services and have the people opening up new mailboxes screened with better background checks and followup on camera recordings. But the best practice is to let your neighbors know to "check" out the mail before a "check" is sent using the internet like I did. Thank goodness for technology when used in t he right way!
