Execuland Execuland Recruitment Agency shut down by Ministry of Labor, Dubai

EXCLUSIVE: Dubai recruiter caught in Ministry sting op
by Soren Billing on Sunday, 27 September 2009

ILLEGAL PAYMENTS: The Ministry of Labour is set to shut down a Dubai-based recruitment agent following a sting operation exposed illegal payments.UAE authorities are set to shut down a Dubai-based recruitment agency and press charges against its owners on allegations that the firm charged candidates for applying for jobs.

A sting operation by the Ministry of Labour (MoL) found that the company was charging job seekers for applying for jobs, a source close to the situation told Arabian Business.

The operation was one in a series of crackdowns on rogue recruiters in the country, the source said.

Execuland, a white-collar recruitment consultancy with offices on the 41st floor of Emirates Towers, was also found to be advertising jobs despite not being registered as a recruitment agency.

Nobody from the company showed up for work on Sunday, according to a receptionist outside the firm’s office, and telephone calls were directed to voice mail.

UAE recruiters are only allowed to charge employers for their services.

Previously only a problem for blue-collar workers in sectors like construction, the economic slowdown has seen illegal recruitment fees spread to all parts of the market as a wave of redundancies in Gulf states created a surplus of job candidates.

Article 18 of the UAE Labour Law states that: “no licensed employment agent or labour supplier shall demand or accept from any worker...any commission or material reward in return for employment”.

In a statement sent earlier to Arabian Business, Humaid bin Deemas, the acting director general of MoL, said that jobseekers asked for fees should submit a complaint supported by evidence to any of the ministry’s customer offices.

The managing director of Execuland did not immediately respond to e-mails.

Cheers to all those who helped to shut down these cheaters

Special thanks to Ministry of Labor, Dubai

Execuland Employees of Execuland writing in favor of their agency in Complaints board

A person named Azab has written in Complaints Board in favor of Execuland that he has gained a job by paying Dhs 150. Do not fall into his trap. He is just an employee of Execuland. He has written 5 comments appreciating Execuland on 21st September at around 10PM. The same time a person named Alexander (see my previous complaint about Execuland) replied on Dubizzle in favour of Execuland.

Also Alexander who had put his email address as the technical contact (WHOIS) of www.execuland.com has modified this information on 21st September 2009. He removed his email address from the WHOIS information after i pointed out his stupidity in Dubizzle and complaints Board about his dumb mistake.

So do not fall for this idiots trap. Which oil company in UAE does not have money to pay for candidate hiring? After all according to execuland, they are offering salaries of 13000 AED + accomodation.

Execuland Employees of Execuland claiming on internet sites that they got jobs through this agency

I found a complaint about Execuland on the internet.

http://dubai.dubizzle.com/discuss/community-issues/5057

The moderator of this site had removed the name of the agency.

In this thread, while everyone was complaining about recruitment agencies cheating candidates looking for a job, one person named Alexander claimed in the thread that he got a job through this recruitment agency and that the agency was not scam.

I have got solid proof that Mr.Alexander (who in this thread stated that he had got a job through this recruitment agency) is an employee of the so called agency.

Any one can easily verify this.

Mr.Alexander mentioned his email address is [protected]@yahoo.com

If you perform a WHOIS lookup of the recruitment agency website (WHOIS provides information about who owns the website), here are the results:

This means that Mr.Alexander is the one who registered the website of this recruitment agency and hence he is an employee.

Please do not fall into this scam. Do not pay money for getting a job.

Best Regards
Abhilash

An advertisement for the post of network engineer was found in Gulf news paper. I applied for this position and after 15 days, I received a call from Execuland saying that I am shortlisted for this position. I was asked to appear for an interview at their office the next day.

The office was located in Emirates Towers, 41st floor. The offices are very posh looking. During the so called interview, no technical questions were asked. 2 candidates, myself and another person was called in to a room. The person who was interviewing us was from Execuland itself, shes an Indian lady by the name Priya. No technical questions were asked. She told us there were vacancies in Abudhabi (an oil company) and in Oman (some electronics and electrical company). The salaries she said offered by the company was AED 13000 + studio accomodation + transportation.

She asked us which location was our preference. When we said Abudhabi, she said there a test required to be written which will cost Dhs 150. For the position in Oman, no test is required. She said the test would be held in some 5 star hotel and based on the test, people would be selected. When we said we are interested in the position in Oman, she told us that the situation in Oman is not good as of now. In between the interview, another staff of Execuland (acting as if they are coming from some company to hire people), will come and ask for Priya. She will come back after 15 minutes saying that that guy who came was from some big company who is in need for staff...and blah blah

So be careful guys...dont pay for this test..its all fake.

This is a scam!

May God lay his hand down on you and your family who is stealing from other people's hard earned money.

It's been almost 3 months since I signed up for Execuland's membership. I was invited to take the orientation and exam at Novotel after more than a month of waiting. After that, I have been consistently following up on opportunities available for me but none of my calls or emails were taken or answered by Priya. It really makes one wonder if the job opportunities that Execuland asvertised on Gulf News are legit. 'Guess I'll agree with AbhiS on this one. Lesson learned; I'll never fall for a similar scheme ever again.

I also applied for a position with them and Yes it was an Indian but tough young lady who did the interview... I also thought the same about them that day because I went back home and read all of these notes... My wife said "Hah, you gave them 150 AED, I will pay you 1, 500 AED if you ever get a job through these people"... It was onle 2 weeks after that day when I got an Ok job in a Mid-size company in Dubai... YES YES YES It is a 100% true fact that I did get an Ok job through this company after their test... I paid 150 AED for their training which was a good one in Novotel Hotel which is a 5 Stars Hotel... It makes me think, if they were a Scam as you say:

1. How come I got an Ok job through tis company

2. They make these trainings in such good hotels

3. How come they have that nice office and staff

You can say anything you want, but my simple point is that I did get a job because of this company.
