Fitness Equipment Depot Not returned money and incorrect equipment

I placed an order based on 6-8 week completion. It took 12weeks for the equipment to get ready because they didn't have half of it then further to increase the frustration the equipment that did come wasn't the colours that we agreed on! They owe me $3900 which they agree too, its has been over 14 weeks where apparently they are going to give me the money back but keep on delaying it with no valid reasons.

Fitness Equipment Depot Scam, fraud, con artists. Don't give them any money or you'll be sorry!

Fitness Equipment Depot is a criminal enterprise. 10 months after paying in full, they won't deliever what their website says is "in stock" and won't refund my money. Their employees and president have lied over and over. They are con artists, plain and simple. Their BBB rating is a sham.

Fitness Equipment Depot Fraudulent business

In July 2009 I paid this company in full (over $4000) for a piece of fitness equipment. Their sales people said they would deliver it in about 6 weeks. It is now 10 months later and they refuse to deliver the product or return my money. Do not do business with these people. They are con artists.

After posting my complaint Raven at Fitness Equipment Depot called saying the company would sue me if I did not remove my post. All for letting people know about my experience with them. Even though they don't deny what happened. And even though there are e-mails, phone calls and other records to prove my complaint is legitimate. A company with integrity would apologize for putting their customer through so much, a company without integrity would get angry at the customer for expecting more. Buyer beware.

At first I did take the option to wait from Fitness Equipment Depot (aka Fitness Plus). It was soon obvious this was a foolish decision so I asked for a refund. Here's what happened:

- They refused to refund my money - I mean they said they would but they never did it.

- I contacted the Better Business Bureau, who also asked them to refund my money. Months went by, the business eventually said they'd send a refund - but again refused to do it.

- I contacted the Attorney General of the State of Oregon, who told them to refund my money or face criminal and civil charges. This finally worked.

- This wasted a year for me - no money and no equipment. Plus the headache, time and expense of dealing with the problem.

Don't take my word for it, check them out before sending money!

- Check out my complaint with the Oregon Attorney General's office (check it out at www.doj.state.or.us/finfraud, then click on search for consumer complaints). Call them, ask questions.
- Or check it out on the BBB website - but get copies of the correspondence between me, the business and the BBB. Otherwise you will be lead to believe things are all peachy.

(Note that the BBB is funded by member businesses, so they consider my complaint 'resolved satisfactorily' since I got my money back in the end. I don't know of many people who would be satified by being lied to by a business for a year and having to jump through a bunch of hoops just to get their money back.)

Avoid Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide! Complete SCAM! Placed an order
(Treadmill, Elliptical, ABS Bench and Calf Machine) with them back in October
of 2013. Received wrong elliptical, BROKEN treadmill and calf machine in
December of 2013 (contract says “all equipment will be delivered within 4-6
weeks” but it took them over 8 weeks) Company refused to replace wrong
elliptical and fix broken treadmill! Also, they refused us return/refund! We
had to spend over $500 to repair the treadmill we got from Fitness Equipment
Depot Worldwide! From December of 2013 to April of 2014 we were calling them
every other week to get ABS bench we paid for back in October of 2013 and still
didn’t get it! On April 22, 2014 we were promised by sells manager to get our
refund for ABS bench and later on the same day we received an email from
financial manager of Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide stating that we are
getting our refund within 10-14 days! Today is May 28, 2014 and still no refund
received from Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide! Made multiple attempts to
resolve this issue but all unsuccessful! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

I am having a similar problem. Credit card refunded my money, but now Fitness Plus is threatening to take me to court. Treadmill was sent defective. "Con-artists" is exactly how I would describe these folks too.

I never have had any issues with Fitness Equipment Depot. I have dealt with them several times to order equipment and never had any issue like you had. I have even gotten some great equipment from them.

Our standard lead time for certain equipment is 2-6 weeks. After the 6th week, the customer had the option to cancel his order or continue waiting. The customer decided to continue waiting until the equipment became available. We tried our best to communicate and accommodate the customer.
