Customer service
Usually I don't do these kind of things, since it takes a lot for me to complain. But, this one caught my attention.
We are located in Hawaii, and we understand certain regulations of how the island works with animals. It took us a good while to find a company who would deliver to Hawaii from such a far distance. So we found Florida Herps. Some of the policies were off, like not guaranteeing a delivery to Hawaii. It was understandable. We went ahead and tried to order some Red Eye Tree Frogs. The next day, we got an email saying it wasn't possible without certain health certificates and such and it would cost us $500 MINIMUM in just paperwork to get it passed how Hawaii works, and then another hundred or two, for the actual frogs.
So we emailed back and asked them if they happen to know a different company who could offer the same service, but possibly cheaper.
The response we got back, was beyond disrespectful.
"You're asking US if we want to help you find someone who will bring in frogs ILLEGALLY to Hawaii? They are frogs and we are not going to try and help you break laws to have them"
No, where did we state that? We wanted to compare rates if someone offered it cheaper. It is none of their concern with why we want to find someone else. Being a reptile store/company, we figured you would know companies who could be more flexible. I was appalled and disgusted by whoever was on the other side.
We have yet not received our refund, and we are EXPECTING a FULL refund like they had told us. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Being a company, I figured they would have more respect with talking to their customers in that way. A simple "no we do not know other reptile stores that could help you" or a simple "yes HERES their number" was all we expected.
Getting sh-t from a joke like this company, was uncalled for, we know how it works here in Hawaii. We have found another flexible company that can help us out.
Florida Herps is a joke.
Unhealthy Animals
Purchased a Tarantula assuming they could be trusted to ship a healthy specimen but had a leg missing, skinny and not eating and ordered a jumbo size and received a small. I spoke with a girl named Kristen who immediately took an attitude and refused to do anything about it much less try to make things better. AVOID THIS COMPANY!
Bad and racist customer service
I was buying this turtle for a little friend who lives in USA. First I placed my order and after 1 day they sent me an email saying my order was cancelled because a problem with the address and they said I didn't fill a form. So after 1 days I decided to order again from my mobile. I was expecting to see the form during the order process but I didn't happen. Once again I didn't know where the form was. I checked the first email they sent to me and this girl from costumer service, called Kristen said the form was on the bottom of the page. I looked and I couldn't find. I sent her a second email saying I didn't find the form. She got all this attitude saying read the email I sent to you before and some words were in CAPS. My reaction was to say in CAPS; YOU'RE RUDE! After that I found the form. It was hiding inside a little tab. I filled with my info and sent to her. She said my order was cancelled. I got sooo mad. She said I don't get to be a costumer if I called her Rude. After that she said "Canadians Wow". I sent an email to the owner of this company saying what happened and he basically said she was totally right and if I didn't find the form she doesn't need to help me again. She already told me where to find it and I should help myself after that. When I mentioned the racist comment he used the excuse of me calling her rude. And he told me I could leave a bad feedback for them cause they are the #1 company in USA and a Canadian [censored] would never change that. So here I am. Ps:I didn't get the refund for the second transaction.

iguana
I have recieved an iguana from florida herps. Will not eat on her own. I have had her for about a month now. She is being syringe fed everyday. Her tail has now been amputated due to a neucrotic area on the underside of tail, and on antibiotic shots.
I have contacted them, I have been called a liar, ###ter, a little girl, teenager. They refused to help me in anyway. Fortunatly she is alive and under guarded condition with my vet. They are very rude and snotty people. They said Dr. Bill wont even bother contacting my vet. HORRIBLE experience.

Terrible Customer Service
Absolutely terrible customer service. This "Lonna" person met my complaint with anger and disdain. They sent me the wrong animals and basically said "we can give you a credit towards your next purchase." I was yelled at and talked down to throughout the process. A horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. The company had great selection and the prices aren't bad, but this woman ruins the entire experience. And if a mistake is made, the burden is on YOU, not them.

My name is Hannah and florida herps sent me a malnourished iguana that had a foot abscess. The poor lizard died a few days later and florida herps does not return my phone calls either. Avoid them!
Cornsnakeguy is yet ANOTHER liar. He already posted on Fauna where he admitted he never had anything shipped. He told FH he was a local customer and picked up newts/frogs. His order was wrong or missing something. He was given a credit, free frog, and had his PayPAl account credited back - he admits all this himself. His issue with "Lonna" is she refused to pay for his gas money. I mean are you kidding me? Crackhead...
I completely agree. The woman should Not have a job in customer service. The fake reviews I see online now after a thourough search (people with no history raving ok but named people in multiple forums posting rave reviews that contridict each other or using a customers name and lying in fake reviews without permission ? Cmon now really? and a huge amount of complaints I see now (16 yrs in the biz but only a handful of those yrs open to the public) The smart people will avoid this company.
Horrible company
Horrible company that steals from customers and drop-ships ALL there reptiles. They want you to believe they have animals, but they DON'T!!!
