Won't PAY YOU
Kristen Cassetta and Steve Ross STOLE money for themselves. Bought new cars, houses, and other items to support each other. John Chalmers did the same thing in FL. The company is now closed but that is because they both were stealing from the same pot. FM Facility Mainteance hired them to find contractors so try calling them for your $$. Steve and Kristen...

They contacted me to do snow removal during a 12 inch storm, which also involved hand shoveling of walkways e you call the so called office they tell you no manager or president is available to take your call they dont have email address for any upper management either this company is the worst to work for if they call you hang up
Do Not Work For the Company
I have something to say about this company on both sides; as a former employee and as someone who feels for the contractors they hire.
To Any Prospective Employee (even Current Employees),
I hope you did some research for this company before deciding to work for them, one way or another. I truly hope that was how you found your way to this page. I saw this site and read the complaints of several former contractors talking about how they were never paid for their services. I believed that the stories on this board were only based on a small number of those who had been contracted by the company. Within a week of working for the company, certain things were starting to not make sense.
I noticed that several people were given new territories at random. Each territory covers hundreds of contractors and thousands of stores. It's pretty much impossible to find out everything that you need to know about every store and each company who services the store. Every time I had to contact a contractor about when they were planning on servicing their stores for the month, they always asked about the money. Every time I mentioned it to my bosses, they told me that I had to contact someone in accounting. Every time I tried to contact someone in accounting (which was several times per week), the phone would ring and ring and ring. I was told that the contractor would have to email the woman who handled payments in accounting. It got to a point where I sincerely started to feel guilty every time I relayed that information to the contractor because it felt like such a lie.
To Those of You Who Have Been Contracted to Do Work for This Company,
DON'T! Read the other complaints about this company and their unwillingness to pay. There were people that I spoke to on the phone who had not been paid in months. A receptionist that worked for the company I was working with hadn't been paid because Level 1 had not held up their end of the deal. By working with this company, you stand the chance of losing thousands of dollars from doing work you will NEVER be paid for. Do you really want to put yourself and your staff through that? No. Find a better company to get work for. Please.
To Those of You Who Have Done Work for the Company and Haven't Been Paid,
I hope you guys get together and sue. I really do. I honestly think that you should call around to your fellow contractors who have worked for them and do a class action lawsuit. There are probably more companies who have done "business" with them in your area than you would think. Give them a call and keep fighting for what they owe you.
I've been separated from this company for several months. I believed that they were within weeks of going under. I'm very surprised that they have still been able to find contractors to work for them and that they have been able to keep their business afloat. I've moved on with my life and I am not writing this as a disgruntled employee or as someone who is looking for sympathy or anything like that. I'm really just writing this because I want to throw in my two cents about this company from how I saw it firsthand. I hope that this post does someone out there some good. I hope the best for those of you who have lost more than just money from this business venture.

Scam artists. We've already hired an attorney. Haven't been paid since May, 2011. They owe us over $12, 000.
Even the employees we worked with at Level 1 Maintenance were in on it. Kristin Cassetta and Steve Ross too.
Stay far away from this scam operation - YOU WILL NOT BE PAID.
No pay, run around, scam
LEVEL 1 Maintenance- SCAM! BEWARE! WARNING! DANGER!
Look out contractors and service companies- (and potential employees) This company, Level 1 Maintenance, is a RIP OFF! If they approach you asking you to do ANY kind of work- landscaping, window wash, pressure wash, etc, for them and their clients (ExxonMobil, Blockbuster, OfficeMax, 7eleven, etc) RUN AWAY! It's NOT a question of IF you will be ripped off, its a question of WHEN, and for HOW MUCH money it will cost you. LISTEN TO US who have already been victimized by them. You DO NOT need work this badly. In these tough times, you must be even MORE selective on who you work for- just like WE have learned. This company is a COMPLETE joke.
They ask you to do the work, and usually will tell YOU what they will pay- which is peanuts for what they ask. We figured we would make it up on future business volume- but that assumption just cost us more money. They tell you the terms are net 45 days. They may ask you for pictures of the job site before and/or after, signed work tickets, etc, etc. Then the fun starts. They will wait intil the 45 days has almost run, THEN tell you that they never got the pictures, pictures were not the right type, never got the right paperwork, something was missing, customer has not released payment yet, and myriad other excuses NOT to pay you.
Add to that the fact that they have a absolutely COLOSSAL turn over rate in their office staff- so information is also lost between employee changeover (your "account service rep"). Even the employees get fed up with this operation and quit. Before our last ASR quit, this person told us that the company is a complete joke, and that this person was sick and tired of all the pissed off contractors complaining about all kinds of things. We can't provide any more specific info at this time, as we are preparing legal action against them and their upline customers. Just trust the people you read about here- and elsewhere on the web- AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
Bottom line is that these people will get you to do the job, then they will hide behind all kinds of "red tape" to avoid/delay payment. They are preying on suckers. DON'T BECOME ONE !

Hello
My company Integrated Property Services Ltd. Here in Edmonton Alberta was hired by this company to do work for the 7-11's around the city. We were a victim of this company who has ignored dozens of phone calls, E-mails and even a collection agency that we have sent after them. Our experience with this company has been EXACTLY as the person described above, you cannot directly contact A/P they wont even give you a phone number to them. They actually ignore e-mails, letters and hang up on you when you call them.
I would be very interested in joining a lawsuit vs this company as we have been completely ripped off by them as well. IF anyone wants any more details you can call me at [protected] or e-mail rryan@ipsonline.ca

Bombard these people with emails and phone calls. It is about the only way they will pay you. 7-11 corporate needs to do something. This company does not willingly pay and plays games. If I can be of any help o anyone, please contact me and i will do my best.
I was contacted by Level 1 Maintenance in early May 201o, to begin lawn services for 7-11s in my area. I serviced these stores every week and got work tickets signed every time, and submitted my invoices with the work tickets at the end of every week. Now its 45 days later and its time for me to get paid. Today I received a letter stating that my billing was rejected because I can only bill once a month for each store for the four visits made that month. I was never made aware of this, and would not have gotten involved with them has I known this. So, I am now looking at mid-August to be paid for work performed the first part of May. I have to re-do my invoices and wait ANOTHER 45 DAYS to get paid. In the meantime, I'm having to pay for my expenses up front with no guarantee of getting paid. This is stalling tactics at their worst. The more I read about this company the more upset I get. It's bad enough dealing with 7-11 store managers, but I did good, quality work for this company and all I ask is to be paid for my work. Any help someone could give in dealing with this sorry company is much appreciated. Thanks,
Mark Hudson

June, 2010
I work out of Moyock, NC and was servicing 7-11s in Chesapeake...Same deal here...One partial payment, then nothing. Then they said it was my insurance forms that were not right...Then it was the work tickets...Then it was the invoices...
I have spoken with others in the area and have gotten the same scenario from them.
After four months of hounding their sorry hides, they finally paid me last week. I you want to give me a call, I'll give you my email list ...I found a couple of names at the company who seemed to get things done...
Thanks, , ,
Mark

Level 1 maintenance does not pay for services rendered
I too am a landscaper in Norfolk, Va who contracted with Level 1 maintenance to service 7 Eleven landscaping.
I started the season in March 2010 I worked until June 2, 2010. Submitted all my invoices monthly, completed contract and waited 45 days then it was 2 months, 3 months 4, 5, and now 6 months and level 1 has not paid.
I email and email and email every person I have an email address for and today they blocked all my incoming emails to level 1 maintenance and sent me a email saying:
"they are waiting on funds from 7 Eleven and would pay me when funds come available. The contract though said they would pay me 45 days from receipt of my bill. It's been 6 months.
What am I to do? 757.202.7770
Thank you for the number I will try this but I spoke with one of level 1 maintenance reps after hours she called me and said level 1 did the same thing last season with contractors just kept replacing contractors with new contractors. What we need is to get the company criminally investigated. Maybe if you have a news channel that reports on complaints. The next contractor doesn't know what he is about to get into until its too late. I will never take another contract like this unless I google that company first.
level 1 Maintenance in my opinion is a bunch of crooks who prey on small businesses who trusted in good faith that they would do as they contracted. I even called 7 Eleven and they referred me back to Level 1 maintenance. my new number is 757.339.4812 evonnematthews@gmail.com It's been 8 months and their landscaping season has ended for the year and I still have not been paid in full. They told me all my paperwork was in order and they just waitin. They sent me 2 partial checks in June and nothing since. I started the season in March 2010 and just as you I started to feel that they had no intentions on paying so I quit June 2 when they tried to introduce a new contract, changing the amounts they wanted to pay contractors. I refused to enter into the new contract.
This is a response to level 1 Maintenance comment concerning payment to me, M&M Landscaping. My paper work was in order but it took you year to pay me. My biggest gripe with Level 1 is the gall of them to "Piss in my face and tell me it's just raining for 12 months". My business collapsed and so did I from the madness they put me through. Every day, on one hand, they were offering me more sights to cover and when you ask about your check they tell you, that's another dept and you have to call them and that dept is at a different location. Which by the way they never answer the phones or simply hung up on you.
Both Evonne Matthews of M&M Landscaping & Brian Johnson from Johnson Family Lawncare have been paid. Below is a list of payments made to M&M Landscaping and Johnson Family Lawncare:

well its still seems people are still having problems with level 1, here's wat you do call facility maintanece thats who level 1 contracs through find out who handles the properties you take care of and tell them the problem of getting paid, this has got to stop, we work hard at wat we do i believe we all do a good job for them, i know they got paid I've talk to facility maint. all my prop. were paid, call FM [protected] thanks
My small greenhouse/landscaping company was hired through Level 1 Maintenance to cut grass, trim and clean up garbage at 7-11 last May. I quit working at the end of July because I did not/do not believe they will pay and I don't believe they will ever pay.
The representative from Level 1 Maintenance said my insurance forms were improperly filled out - But they were filled out PERFECTLY. (I had someone from Level 1 check all my documents and invoices before I submitted anything as I wanted to avoid problems with this company. I had checked on the company and read Internet claims about their tendency to not pay.)
The representative said, "I have hundreds of invoices sitting in a file that will never be paid because the paperwork is filled out incorrectly."
That means Level 1 has hundreds of contracts that they will never have to pay.

Not payment for services rendered
This company contacted our company via the Yellow Pages and asked us to perform landscaping work for them for the 7-11's in Norfolk, VA. They have paid us 1 small check for services since March 2010 and it was only partial payment. This is August 31, 2010 and they have not responded back to us when we called and left a message, they keep changing people...

I had a contract with Level 1 Maintenance beginning June 2009. In the contract it states that they will send checks 45 days from time they get invoices. I found this to be untrue. They pay when they are ready to pay or don't pay at all. My work orders are signed, My invoices are complete. I want to get paid. They are refusing. Any one else having this problem?
Level 1 no longer has 7 Eleven contracts here a new company does I was asked if I would be interested to taking my od sites back I said no. Level 1 has taken the trust out of me. I actually google everybody. I googled my daughter's boyfriend.
Level 1 has taught me to trust no one...
Listen Level 1 sent my last payment March 2011 for services
Rendered March 2010 Thats's a solid 12 monthd waiting to be paid
That is not acceptable. And to add insult to injury they kept deducting from my invoice totals with no explanation. Am I surprised NO WAY THEY ARE LIKE ROBBERS WITHOUT A GUN
LNS Lawn Service has been paid in full. It's a shame subcontractors do not post once payments have been received, just to complain.

They owed me at least $4000 for services at several Blockbuster locations and they have more than 4 months that they do not pay
No pay on service call!!
I own a landscaping company in Dallas Area. I maintenance Exxon accounts through Level 1 Maintenance. They called me out to fix a sprinkler head and turn the water off. I get out there, and it is a busted pipe. I gave them a price on fixing it. They did not like my price, so they had someone else fix it; but they refuse to pay a service fee for me coming out and getting the water turned off by the city, and finding out where the water was coming from. They also pay very little money to their contractors.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Level 1 Maintenance contacted me in July wanting me to serve the 7-11 Stores on the Outer Banks and I began serving them On August 1, 2010. I have submitted my invoices on time and now the season is over they are telling me my Liability Insurance doesnt read the way they want it to read so they are not going to pay me for my services. I have no other recourse but to put a mechanics lien against the building which belongs to 7-11. Please be aware of this Company for I see they are not paying many .
This company is a SCAM they will NOT pay unless you tell them you will sue. Or put up a complaint to the Business Bureau and then you might get your $$. They are going under so I would hurry if I was you. Steve Ross and Kristen Cassetta bought houses and cars with money that is owed to YOU. The owner John Chalmers opened a bar in VT with YOUR $$ so act quickly...
A&J Lawncare, just like all subcontractors, has been paid. Payments are below:

i have had a contract with this company for 7-11 and after 3 months now i have still not gettin paid ive lost my employees because they do not trust me ive lost money that i used to work all around va for thses people I am late on rent and car payment not to mention i canot keep my wife happy cuz i have two kids and no money is coming in I have heard that by filing a collection complaint with your local magistrate you will get the money fast and even court cost and interest
It's terrible, my husband's company has worked many jobs for them that required chemicals and fuel usage and not to mention the advance payments for additional people to do the labor. As of today they are 90 days behind the allowed 40 days after the invoices are submitted. I just finished our accounting and had to scramble together some money out of our savings to cover the expenses. I am so appalled with the attitude of this company that I am seriously considering contacting the higher executives at EXXON, and if it does not help the next move should be the newspaper. Let people know how Exxon has people doing the maintenance and are not getting paid, and also mention how our business is going bankrupt because of Level 1's lack of professionalism!. Beware also of Level 1 accounting excuses, who are saying that the reason people are not getting paid is because contracts were not submitted properly, which is not the case with my husband's company and many other's doing work for them. It's just 1 of their many lame excuses. I want to know...who the hell the owner of this company is and see if he wishes to hire me to set his business straight and add some professionalism to their deals! It needs it! Especially when I hear different account representatives every other month, policy changes every month and a giggling bimbo on the office answering machine! Wake up Level 1 Maintenance or should I say EXXON for dealing with them.
Level 1 is a scam. I After 1 week I noticed people had made their own schedules, coming in when they felt like it and leaving whenever. The supervisor was a 22 year old in experienced girl, who decided I should be let go. haha. She was hanging out of her clothes every day she decided to come in. ALSO there are several records of non payment and the way they run their business is keep the service reps out of the loop so no one knows anything and payments are never made because no one can get the paper work right ( as it changes from day to day). the business is all one big cluster run by young inexperienced people who have never taken an accounting, sales, or business class in their life.
FYI they have cams all over their office. even in the bathrooms
I worked in their call center for 3 days and they came and told the whole training class that level 1 did not have the budget and let us all go. This is in clearwater fl this is bs not sure if i will get paid. I think its a scam
Hello,
We are a Landscape Firm out of Southern Maryland that has been dealing with Level 1 Maintenance payment issues for Months. Level 1 mistakenly sent a list of service providers email addresses on one of the many emails. We sent an email to every address on that list and within 5 minutes of sending the email, we had 5 telephone calls from different service providers for Level 1 Maintenance stating that they were having the same issues not to mention the many email replies.
We are currently compiling a list of service providers that have been affected by Level 1 Maintenance and the lack of payment(s)
At this point, we do not know exactly what we can do, but are thinking Better Business Bureau, Attorneys, Media Outlets and every other means of FREE SPEECH that can be thought of.
If you would like to add your name to the ever growing list of service providers that have not been compensated for thier hard work, please give us a call at [protected] or send us an email daniel@dhlawnscapes.com
Yes, I would be greatfull for any help with Level One. I have 3 kids and I 'm trying to get through college.
