MBT reviews and complaints
Shoes
Purchased a fairly price set of shoes from a certified seller. They were fine for a year or so and then began to deteriorate with the soles splitting apart and all of the foam liner crumbling and spilling out. The shoes are totally unusable and are now useless. I've kept them in a paper sack if there is any interest for MBT to analyze or replace them. I don't expect much interest is MBT resolving this issue. Jim R

I have previously purchased many pairs of MBT brand shoes. However I went walking today in very good condition MBT shoes which had barely been used and showed no signs of anything but minor wear. After 15 minutes both shoes began to fall apart. Both the front of the shoes began flapping as the soles started to separate. Finally one sole came off completely and I walked home in socks.
KNOCKOFF
Recently bought a pair of MBT shoes from this site. I thought it was real, but when the shoes arrived, they fell apart. Even though they did not say say so on the site, they came directly from china. The site is [protected]@edonly. I have 7 pair of (authentic) MBT's and love them but if this were my first pair, and I didn't know they were knock offs, I would never buy another pair. It is my own fault, I love MBT's and thought I found a great deal on another pair. Anyway, I am pursuing getting a refund
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I bought these MBT when I was travelling to Nadrid Spain a couple years back, tried them on a couple of times and left the shoes without using them for sometime and upon trying them out the Lining rubber pads in both shoes failed.
I had several pairs with them but only the MBT failed. What a waist of some good money on an expensive product.
I recently ordered 3 pair of shoes through Amazon. So far 2 out of 3 are the knock-offs. I took pair # 1 back to the store because it's here in Chicago (Alamo Shoes on North Clark - Amazon store Heart and Soles - same store). I thought they would like to know that these are knock-offs. An unnamed man came from upstairs and loudly told me I was wrong - that they were MBT's. When I tried to explain how I knew they weren't he just kept overriding me by saying "Put your money where your mouth is" every time I tried to speak. I finally gave up. I did get my refund. On the way home I realized that his response would have been different if he DIDN'T know. He would have been interested in the feedback. Pair #2 were red sandals from Amazon and I'll contact them about this. The 3rd pair is waiting for me at the Post Office. I have no hope of getting real MBT"S this time either.
I've been wearing real MBT's for about 5 years. My first two pairs were from Walker's in Florida. I thought they went out of business. I've gotten 3 or 4 more pairs from Zappo's and they've all been the real deal. I can't tell by looking at pictures and the fakes look well made. I got screwed on 3 pair from THEMBTSTORE web site last year and they came straight from China.
The fakes have perfect MBT boxes and literature and look kinda like MBT, but the fakes are much larger than real MBT's. Longer and wider. Also, the fakes feel wrong standing in them. MBT's were originally on the short side and had to be ordered a half size larger. The Zappos from 2 years ago were fine 8 1/2 (39). They also run narrow and only have one width. Does anyone know how to tell on line? If a store is selling fakes they are going to lie just like the guy did at Alamo Shoes today. I'm going to let Amazon know about the fakes after I check pair #3 tomorrow. I'm also going to complain to the Illinois Attorney General. lyndaleplace
I tried to put a complaint on one of the other sites two years ago. It was hard to place the complaint. It was against an MBT online store and all I can say is - Caveat Emptor. If it comes from China, over the internet and you have already
paid your money - the money is gone. China does not police this stuff. The U.S. banks won't help you. The shoes are not
made the way they used to be in the main anyway, so we will probably have a hard time matching the quality of the ones we have - which were considered by most people to be too expensive to start with. $100 will not buy you an original MBT
quality shoe. That's all there is to it. I freaked out against all Chinese vendors in a rude way for a few weeks there, when it happened to me. But, it's not them. It's profit motive and incredible ambition - which leads to stealing.
I just got suckered myself. Not feeling very bright - thought I got a good deal too - a pair of 'Gore-Tex' MBT shoes... and what I got was garbage. Oh well. I know better for next time. I hope no-one else is dumb enough to fall for this!
I'm having a similar problem with www.topsmbt.com. I did not do enough research before buying these and saw them for such a good deal that I went ahead with the sale. After reading about these fraud websites later that same day I emailed topsmbt.com (the only way to contact them of course, no 1-800 number, no live chat, etc). I've been in contact with them for over a week and I am getting no where. I told them to cancel and refund, yet they shipped days later anyways, and now they have ceased communication. Today I went back to their website and it has changed from a week ago when I purchased. They actually admit, now, to not being authentic MBT shoes. Isn't that just great. So I guess I'll see what arrives from China...if it ever arrives. I know I'm not getting a refund though, that's for certain. Good luck in getting yours.
