I have been asking for months for my refund of 49.99 back of merlin and I have had not one response of them I never had a loan and when they took my money out of my bank I was horridefed it has made me so behide with everything and would like it back I did not give them any permission what so every to take it from my back. I would like it if I can have all the money back by cheque by next week. Otherwise I will be seeking advice about taking you to court, and it would be in your interest if you sent this to me as it will cost you a lot more money then 49.99.

I would like to share the following on this forum to reinforce posts I have already seen, that is about Merlin Loans. At the start of May 2014 they took £49.99...yes it always seems to be that amount that they take...well they took this from my account. To summarise, I have gone through 1. correct complaint procedure...ie letter to them, 7 emails ..all not answered 2. one successful conference call with my bank when they said they would refund me. Following that I cannot reach them on any of their contact numbers and I state [protected] and [protected]. In the past eight weeks if the phone call does get through, it goes to voice mail box that is full and even if you manage to leave a message they do not return calls. I have had to escalate this to financial ombudsman. It is now up to Merlin to respond within 8 weeks or face a fine of £500. I tried to do some more investigation about Merlin today and I find that they no longer have an active website, which used to be www.merlinloans.co.uk. More interestingly their name comes up on the Daily Mirror Website where an undercover reporter says that he was also 'done' for yes you guessed it, £49.99. Since it seems they have gone into hiding I also spoken with Companies house who said Merlin almost went out of business last year for not filing their accounts. However they did eventually file them and their last filed accounts was listed as June 14, thereby, they were still trading then so they could have refunded me! I also spoke with the Insolvency service who said that they have had a lot of customer queries about Merlin! You don't say! They are still trading as a company for The F Ombudsman to pursue, so that is something. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has been scammed by these crooks...any anyone that managed to get a refund. I hope that this post helps other people..

I have never in my life ever applied for any type of loan, so as you can imagine I was suprised to see merlinloan has taken £49.99 from my bank. I have emailed them now every say for 6 days and the number they have on their web site I have also called around 5-10 times daily and it just rings and rings!
Avoid this company like the plague. They are money grabbing ###. But seems they are a company of robots as no one seems to answer phones or reply to emails

this company took money from my account even though i had not even apply for a loan one of there staff lisa emerton phoned me and said i would get a full refund within 24hrs that was 48hrs ago still no refund this firm just scams money off people the £49.99 witch they took ileagly from my bank was my dogs food money now they are going hungery thanks merlin loans something should be done to stop this firm from doing this to peoplef9d45
