I filed a PSLF form over a year ago to Mohela Student Loan. There was a part of the form that wasn't filled out properly, so I made the correction and refiled the paperwork. Mohela SAFE enrollment automatically with a HUGE payment due when UNEMPLOYED and ON

The SAFE Calc is ridiculous and not even close to reality.

DOE and Mohela and their Systems "partners" and fin tech partners have really done a sham job here.

Long wait times to even get to talk and get accurate answers.

Submit forms for deferrment and forbearance online and all documenation to be uploaded (CAN"T print them by the way) which is terrible.

Mohela's handling of low income and unemployed and those on State Assitance (like me) is terrible.

Illinois LAW SHOULD allow bankruptcy on all of this mess but after trying (told not allowed).

Extortion is a good name for this all and helps NOONE in the economy or STATE of Illinois!

Desired outcome: Forbearance, Deferrment or bankrupt *ILPoliiticians involved answers and answers as to why the Borrower Defense program was such a sham with both DOE admins!

My student loans were forgiven 8/10/2015, and I received notification of that from MOHELA. I received a partial refund 9/14/2023, yet I am still waiting for the remainder of the refund that totals almost $8,000.00. Mohela PSLF Processing

I have been waiting months for PSLF count update after submitting work verification to complete my 120 payments. My count now stands at 101 with the entire COVID 19 time not counted so I have 137 payments more then enough payments for forgiveness. I check everyday to see if my count or forgiveness has been processed and now my account is locked due to suspicious activity. The only way to get account access is to call because it wont let me reset password on line. Last time I called it was over 3 hr wait. Just another stall tactic

Mohela PSLF Application

On 9/8/23 I filed my application to certify my employment to have my final 120 qualifying payments processed for PSLF discharged. I t was my hope to get this done before re-entering payments as have satisfied my Public Service payment counts. There has bee no movement on my application and I was forced to make a payment on a satisfied account. I have called into Mohela a few to get updates, but ws put on long holds (7 hours one call). When using their call back request system when I received a call they promptly hug up on me and did not call back - starting the process over again. When I have reached someone I was told to wait out 30 days. After 30 days I was told 45 and I do not feel confident the application is being handled in any sort of urgency or may be lost.

Desired outcome: I want my application processed and my loan discharged for satisfactory completing my public service payment term.

I was notified by MOHELA that my loans were forgiven in 2019 and I was never informed. MOHELA alleged that it sent me a refund check but to the wrong address. Upon informing MOHELA sent the refund check to an old address, the check was cancelled and a new check was expected to arrive within 5 to 7 business days. Mohela Payment issues

I was placed on forbearance when changing my IDR payment plan from August. The day I was notified I was placed on administatrative forbearance is the day they confirmed my plan had been approved thus removing the need for it. I am on PSLF program so i requested it by removed as it was not necessary or else I would lose a month in PSLF count as the bill did not generate for October because of it. Its been 9 business days since they promised me two business days for the issue to be resolved and I have received no response. I have called back twice and they simply say backlog and nothing I could do but wait. I asked for documentation detailing my requests and am waiting on that as well.

Mohela Customer service

I have been unable to login to my account and it has now been locked. When I try the reset password function, the website directs me to contact Mohela. On 8/1/23 I tried to call, and all I got was a bunch of automated messages that lead to nowhere. I thought that I was going to get connected to an actual customer service representative at one point, but ended up being directed to an end-of-call survey even though I had not had my issue addressed yet. Once the survey was completed, the call was disconnected. I still can't log in to my account.

Desired outcome: I would like to be able to login to my account so I can start making payments when student loan repayments resume.

I made a full payment of the loan on 07/19/2023 and the customer service agent told me I could cancel that payment any time before 3 business days. Mohela Student loans

I took out student loans through Mohela (Missouri department of Higher Education ...) I had a 4.0 first semester. During my second semester I developed a incurable intestional desease and was hospitalized for over a week. When I was released, I dropped my classes and contacted Mohela Immediately and was informed by their Customer Service that they understood and my loan would be forgiven. A Year Went by and I received a notice in the mail that my loan was delinquent and I had to make payment arrangements. I called Mohela AGAIN and was informed that this notice was a mistake and not to worry. My loan had been forgiven. I forgot about it for a couple of years, never had received any further correspondence. Then my check from work had a garnishment on it. For 15% of my total check. I contacted the collection company and they told me the collection was valid and that the customer service had no authority to forgive my loan. Please dont deal with these people..
