Fraud/Rip-off
They called my home to try a sell some magazines. My 17 year old son answered the phone and thought they were legit. He gave them his bank card number to order Sports Illustrated and XXL magazine at $40 for both magazines combined. They told him his first magazine would arrive in about 2 weeks, needless to say they never came and this company deducted $350 out of his bank account. They also tried to attached a permanent bi-weekly deduction of $200. The bank has since canceled that card and changed his bank account number.
I called to speak with these people and they said the only way they will speak with me is if I fax them a copy of my son's birth certificate to verify his age and provide them with his social security number prove that we are discussing the same person. When I refused they said that the only way they will speak with me concerning his account is if he calls and gives them permission to do so. We did just that and they still refused with out a copy of his birth certificate and social security number.
These people seem to prey on teens and the uninformed to steal money from. I've contacted our states office of consumer affairs and the Clark Howard show to investigate these people. Don Not Trust them if they call you and please warn your children not to give out any personal information to anyone. My son has learned his lesson and he will not be a victim again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
rude representative on phone
I have no details of this company except their phone number constantly on my phone. Today, 09/02/08, I received a call from someone at approximately 12:00PM. She asked for my son, who is 16. I told the person I was not interested. At 5:15PM. I received another call for Chris Draper, my son. I asked what she wanted and she explained she needed to talk to him. I responded that I pay the phone bill and she could talk to me. She then asked if he was an adult and I responded that if she was questioning the age then why call. She then stated I was a rude ### and hung up.
I have tried to call this place back 3 or 4 times but only get a message saying my call will answered in less than 1 minute.
Why are these companies allowed to call so much.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT THEM TO KEEP CALLING YOU SHOULD SIMPLY STATE THAT YOU WILL LIKE TO BE PLACE ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND THEY WILL REMOVE YOUR NAME AND NUMBER

yes this is a scam they sent me emails saying i have won a 100 dollar gift card they got the 19.19 from my account and sent me nothing its all a big scam !
This company is bad news. When I was discussing the magazines I wanted they then told me it would be 11-64-72 which I confirmed with the sales representative to be $11.64 a month for 72 magazines. The amount is for 2 magazines at 11.64 a month for 3 years. I knew this was expensive, but I had some spare cash and figured it would be important for me to read more. However, what I found out later is the cost was $1, 164.72. I finally got them down to $600.00. I tried to get out of the total about, but they said despite the fact my phone call was dropped during the purchase, I was still liable for the entire amount. I said to myself “lesson learned” and I put myself on the DO NOT CALL LIST to prevent stupid mistakes like this from happening again. Needless to say I will take the bullet on this one, but never again will this happen to me. This company is unscrupulous, shady, and disconcerting. Do not do business with them!
