PosterPass.com deceptive business practices - evasive customer service

I joined posterpass.com for an initial deal of 4 posters for $5 each, which went fine, my credit card was charged $20 and I recieved the four posters I wanted. Little did I realize that somewhere in the fine print I was signing up for a repeat poster service (who in the hell would want this), and after returning from a month long vacation found 3 more poster boxes at my house, and 3 charges to my credit card of 39.80. These turned out to be random posters since I hadn't chosen them. I called up and canceled my account immediately and asked what I had to do to get a refund - they told me to mail the posters back to them and a refund would be processed. Also note that every time I have called there customer service, it takes about 2 hours of "we're sorry, all of our representatives are assisting other customers" before I finally get through. Luckily I had the sense to look up complaints like this and somebody had recommended I get delivery confirmation, or else they would claim they did not receive the returned posters. So I went down to UPS and paid $9 to have all three boxes returned together with a tracking number and confirmation. A few days after I had verified they had recieved, I still had no refund so I called in to ask why. After another two hours of calling their service number, I finally got a hold of somebody, and she claimed they had not received the posters back yet. That's when I said "No, I have the UPS receipt and tracking number right here, you recieved it at this date and Jennifer in the lobby signed for them." That's when she said "Oh yes, sir, there it is, I don't know why but it wasn't input into the system correctly"... yea right. The guy I had listened to was right - if you don't have some kind of delivery confirmation they are going to deliberately lie about getting their posters back. She said that a refund would be processed for 119.40 to my credit card. Well, it has been over a month since then and I still have not received my money back. I just called in again, and actually got lucky and got somebody on the first try. After I explained my situation and told him I had a confirmation number from the discussion about the refund he said "okay sir, please hold for a second." I was on hold for 5 minutes and then my call was dropped. I am now calling again and again with the same result - I am unable to get through. I do not know how long it is going to take to get my refund, or if I ever will from this godforsaken company, but whatever you do, don't ever ever give this company your information - they are going to charge you repeatedly, quickly, for posters you do not order, and it is going to be a HUGE hassle for you to get your money back.

I was called by my bank Sunday evening telling me a $79 charge appeared on my account. This was from posterpass.com. I had orderd posters from posters.com about a year ago and canceled it because it didn't state that it was a membership. I sent the posters back and they did stop the membership. Why am I being charged now when I never even bought anything. I will be calling them this morning, but someone better stop this.

Ditto what all the other reviews say. Wish I'd read them first. Tricked into ordering while responding to another sweepstakes that came in through a job training class. Beyond ripoff, outright theft. The people behind this scam are greedy detriments to the human race. We're all trying to survive here, why not choose to make money honestly? No doubt what comes around goes around, so they'll get theirs.

After receiving and canceling receipt of poster, started receiving them again, out of the blue. When I called them they said I had indeed ordered them and that I would have to pay for them. Beware, not trustworthy.

PosterPass.com has charged me over $80 for posters that I have not received nor expected to have to pay a membership in order to be a part of and they have not refunded the money owed to me back into my account as promised. They "graciously" sent me an email canceling this alleged "Membership".

I was charged $48.00 on three separate occasions, by posterpass.com aka homearts direct, in the same month, for a total of 10 posters. The original agreement was that the first 4 posters were to be $2.00 each. Then I was to receive 2 additional posters per month at the price of $9.95 each. They sent me a total of 10 posters in one month without any warning and charged me a total of $144.00. I feel ripped off.

This company offered 4 posters for $2. Got billed twice for $48.00 for my $2 posters. I called to cancel and they canceled but did not repay the last $48.00 to this day. This is a scam! Do not give these people your cc info!

I clicked out of this program before it was complete because I changed my mind. They were supposed to send me 4 posters for $8.00. They charged me $34.00 for first shipment (which I returned), then they sent me two more shipments and charged me $48 each. I did not authorize any of these yet they keep charging me and I keep returning them. This company is a complete rip off.

I had the same problem-I canceled my credit card after their first ripp off, then I got online to the Illinois and N.Y. attorney generals office and filed a complaint. It took about 2 months but they did send me a refund for the $79. DON'T LET THESE ### RIP YOU OFF! Go to the attorney generals website in your state and in their state and file a complaint, they will go after them for you. It's easy and it does work! Good luck!

PosterPass.com $79 charge after 1 1/2 years!!!!!

I too just noticed a $79 charge on my account after 1 1/2 years after canceling my account! WTF?! How are these people still doing business after all this time and STILL taking people's money like this! I just tried to call the phone number and the first time, it just rang over and over for about 5 minutes! Then I called back and was on hold FOREVER, of course, no one picked up and it sent me to a voicemail system! I am completely INFURIATED with this! Please, if anyone has had a similar issue with this company and has resolved it, please let me know how to do so. I'll keep trying to contact these CROOKS and see where it gets me, in the meantime I'll probably have to cancel my credit card, WHAT A PAIN IN THE ###!
F**K these people!

They came through on their word!
They refunded my money and it's back in my account. I still canceled my old card and replaced it with a new one...JUST IN CASE.
But thankfully Brian Dale and Beverly Simmons were the right people to get in touch with.

What an ordeal!

To those who are still waiting for a refund...

Email Brian Dale:

Here's what you do...
I did some serious digging yesterday to get in contact with them and I emailed the so called "President" of the company, his name is Brian Dale, here is his email:

briandale@peel.com

I told him I filed a complaint with the BBB and filed a police report for fraud with my local police department. He QUICKLY got back to me and told me my money would be refunded within 72 hours.

I got a call this morning from a woman named Beverly Simmons who confirmed my money would be refunded. I have yet to see the money back in my account, as this just happened only a few hours ago. I'll keep you up to date and let you know the status, I also have her direct phone number [protected] if you would like to call her yourself.
Her email is:

bsimmons@peel.com

This needs to be STOPPED, anyone who has had this problem, contact these people and GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

Ordered 4 posters advertised at $2.00 each. Was charged $39.00. When I called, they said there were shipping charges of $31.00! Then they charged me another $48.00. Nothing else was ordered. When I called, I was told that another shipment had been made. It was not authorized. I requested a full refund of the $48 as well as a refund of the $31 overcharge. Told them I would return whatever came. They said they would refund and I should see the credit in 3-5 business days. Believe me, I will be watching for it. I also requested that we be deleted from their system along with my credit card info.

Posterpass.com is a Fraud! I was charged for the 25 dollars for 5 posters the next day I was going to cancel the membership but I got another box 2 posters for 40 buck and they were closed by the time I got off work so I called and cancelled the membership but they told me that they already charged me for another box of 2 posters for 40 buck but if i didnt want them that I could just send them back. the next day I went to the post office and mailed them back WITH A TRACKING NUMBER! on 5-1-09 they received the posters back. I called them and they said that they haven't gotten the posters and that the post office holds the returns and they go to pick them up once a week, I taught that was fishy but whatever. I called back in a week cuz they never returned my money. They told me that it was going to take 2 weeks to make the transactions back to my credit card. I work 70 hours a week so It was very hard to keep on top of this but I called 3 weeks later and talked to some who said that they never had my posters returned, I said ###! I have a tracking devise on the packages and they were received by them over a month ago! she asked for the numbers to conferm that they were indeed received, and then told me that it would be 2 weeks more for my money back...long story short after 2 1/2 months I called the credit card and filled a dispute and they took the tracking numbers and got me my money back just after 3 months of them receiving my returned posters. I have also contacted the attorney general but they sent me a letter back saying that they sent my complaint to some other agency. Yesterday I got a letter from the department of federal trade saying that my complete was noted but until there is a lot more complaints of poster pass they wont do anything! We should all do a class action law suit or everyone take posterpass to small claims for the max in your state, IA is 5, 000 so If everyone that they have screwed over took them to small claims they would lose a lot of money in lawyer fees, travel, and then what ever you get rewarded back in your claim! And hopfully go bankrupt!

Beware of this website. They lure you in with an offer of 4 posters and 4 mugs for 8 dollars and no shipping cost. The offer requires you to sign up for a membership you can cancel anytime but terms of the membership are such that you will be billed twice a month for additional posters with no mention of frequency charges. I made the mistake of signing up for this thinking I could get the good deal and cancel out as I'm sure other have, but they will debit your account for the "semi-monthly" shipments at the same time as the 8 dollar charge unless you sign into their website and change the "semi-monthly" frequency immediately. I was charged for two addtional shipments in less than 48 hours after ordering the 8 dollar deal. So, buyers beware, this is a scam, the wording of their terms and conditions are very misleading. I am fortunate enough that I can take this small monetary loss without any issue and my bank most likely will refund me before the posterpass.com site does. I know from experience unexpected debits from checking accounts can cause overdrafts and therefore additional charges to consumers and I'd hate for this to happen to someone else. Furthermore, the persons I spoke to on the phone for this site know this is a scam and have no shame for what they are doing and to do such a job is dirty and can only be done by people of questionable character.

I went to check my online bank account yesterday.
I should have had over one hundred dollars within my checking account.
To my surprise, I had only $12.00 in my checking account.
I immediately checked the activity of my transactions to see what was going on.
I discovered that a company called posterpass.com had illegally withdrawn $79.00 from my account on two separate occasions over the holiday.

Until yesterday I had never heard of this company.
I have never ordered anything from them or given them permission to take money from my account.

I am not going to be able to return to work on Monday due to lack of funds.
Since I can’t return to work on Monday, I will also have to forfeit my thanksgiving holiday pay as well.
I don’t even have Gas money for the coming week because of these people.
Thanks for stealing from me PosterPass.com.

You have needlessly stolen money from my checking/debit account and in doing so, have provoked me into taking legal action against your company.

I will no longer use my debit card online.
Cash will be the new standard for paying my bills.

I contacted them back in April 2017 regarding the excessive posters and charges. I canceled my membership with them and paid for the posters I received. I refused acceptance of any additional shipments by talking to my UPS driver and telling him to return any further shipments to sender. I spoke with a woman named Rebecca at [protected] and I was credited for the additional charges and was assured my membership was canceled.

On 11/30/09...a $79 charge authorization dated 11/26/09 appeared suddenly on my account. I called Posterpass.com immediately at [protected] and left a voicemail message regarding the charge. I did not receive a call back as the recording stated I would. Subsequent calls were met with an "all circuits are busy" message. I called again the next day and the voicemail stated they were not available and to leave a message and then stated the voicemail was full and to try again later. I continued to get a mixture of the two messages for the remainder of the week. I tried them again today and there was no answer, no voicemail, no nothing.

So...I refered back to the notes I kept (for some reason) from April. I had found that Art Print World and ClassicDecorDirect.com were the same company as Posterpass.com and I also had THEIR toll free numbers [protected] and [protected] respectively). I called them and again received no answer or voicemail at either number. So I attempted to reach "Rebecca" [protected]) who is supposedly the "director of customer service" that I spoke to in April and again there was no answer, voicemail or anything.

I finally called Brian Dale at Peel Inc. AGAIN like I did back in April. He is supposedly the big cheese of this whole company. I was met with a phone tree system directing me to press 6 for customer service...of course, no answer and no message. I called back and this time I left a message for Brian Dale himself regarding this issue. That was about 2 hours ago. Their business hours are over now and I wonder if I'll hear back from anyone tomorrow. If not, I will have to dispute the charge and hope that this is the end of it. Oh...by the way, the phone # for Brian Dale at Peel Inc. is [protected].

I noticed a PO Box listed for their address in the original complaint but the physical address they had back in April is
990 Grove St. Ste 204
Evanston, IL 60201

Good luck to anyone who is still having to deal with this company after canceling membership.

All righty then... Yes these people are ###! I did do business with them and cancelled my account about 4 months ago. they have charged my account 79.00 each week for the last 3 weeks. I emailed Brian Dale and he responded stating my refund would be in, in 72 hours...then my account gets charged again! So... here is what you do...
Call you bank and cancel your card!
Go to your bank and get a dispute of funds fill it out and give it to your bank.
When you are at the bank also get an affidavit of fraud ...take it home and call your local police department to file a police report.
Call the Secret Service in your area and talk to the Financial Crimes Department.

Please everyone that is reading this that has had an issue with the following but not limited to:

PosterPass.com charging credit card after canceling all orders after the first one, for four posters for $2.00 apiece

I ordered 4 posters for my son for
$2.00 each and I paid for them with my husbands credit card. Then 2 weeks later my husbands credit card was charged 79.00 for those posters. I immediately called Posterpass and they told me it was a membership. I cancelled all actions at that time and was told I could not receive any type of credit to his card because it was on the 3rd day of the trial membership. Then right at 1 month later my husband was again charged a $79.00 fee on his credit card, and 1 week later he was charged another $79.00. I called them again and they told me to refuse service on the posters that would be shipped UPS. I work all day and UPS just leaves the posters at my door. I send them back, via UPS, and call Posterpass and they tell me it will be up to 2 weeks before they can issue any type of credit to my husbands credit card. The posters have to be returned to the company. I did that. To make a long story short, I have still not received any refund to the credit card even after I canceled the order. I feel that this business is ripping people off, and charging them an ungodly amount for posters I can go buy at Walmart for $2.00 and not have to pay $79.00 every 2 weeks.

PosterPass.com unauthorized charges

Saw a deal on PosterPass.com. 4 posters for $4/ea. Read the fine print, it stated that random posters would be sent to you at "retail cost" until membership was cancelled. Thinking it would be okay, I placed my initial order, and immediately cancelled my account on 6/29. Confirmation #205226. I was charged an additional $39.80 two days later. I called their customer service line to question these charges. The rude lady on the phone said "they were sent at the exact same time as your first order, send them back and we'll refund you". After reading online about how they do NOT refund people as promised, I decided to bite the bullet and keep the stupid posters.

Fast forward to 10/26... they've charged my debit card with another $79.00. I have not placed any orders through them, and my account has been closed for months. This charge is completely unauthorized.

I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau, now I'm crossing my fingers for a refund...

Called PosterPass on 10/29... had an incredibly brief conversation with someone.

"We'll issue a refund, it'll get to you within 30 days." (Refund doesn't seem to be the correct word for this situation; A refund for WHAT? The invisible jet that my imaginary friend bought with my credit card?)

I requested a confirmation e-mail, to which she replied "yeah, I'll send one", quickly hanging up before I could say anything else...

(I haven't received the e-mail yet.)

-

I also reported the charge to my bank... apparently they've "investigated the claims and sent a response by (snail) mail". I haven't been credited for it yet, so knowing my luck the letter probably says "SUCKS TO BE YOU, LOL".

I originally clicked on the Mystery Shopper on the AT&T website and eventually it lead me to this PosterPass.com. Well, my daughter loves posters and it said 5 posters for $25. So, I ordered them. She received them and loved them. However, it said nothing about automatically signing me up for a monthly subscription with no choice over the posters to pick. Since that first initial charge on 05.05.08 for $25, I have been charged $47.80 on 05.12.08; $47.80 on 05.19.08 and $47.80 on 06.04.08. So a total of $168.40 has been debited from my account without my authorization and I am on disability and a fixed income. I have tried to find a website to contact them to get my refund, but no such luck. In addition, my bank said since they had my debit card information there was nothing they could do to help me out even though it was due to no fault of my own. PS: They also charge under Home Arts Direct so check your bank statements closely.

Please someone let me know if you have a website address or phone number for this scamming company so I can get my money refunded before I have to take legal action.

Thank you and God Bless!

I purchased some posters for my nephew on a trial basis. I was to have 30 days to cancel before being sent any more posters. I received my order in 6 days. 4 days later I was charged for posters I didn't order. It is going on 5 months and I still don't have a credit to my card for their deliberate rip-off.

The introductory offer is for four 'museum-quality' posters for $8.00 plus four mugs. I received the items in a timely manner - the mugs were not what I expected and the packaging was haphazard...two of the posters were creased since all items were in a single box. The posters were of standard quality - nothing special about the printing or paper to identify them as 'museum-quality'. I had read the fine print and knew I would be receiving additional items (two posters would be shipped automatically at regular intervals at a cost of $39.80 each - who KNEW what the subjects of the prints would be?) - I called customer service immediately (the same day as receipt of the introductory shipment) and cancelled my membership - as directed. The representative told me that another shipment had already been sent! She said my membership was cancelled as of that phone call and I could return the shipped items. I did so as soon as they arrived, handing them back to my mail carrier in my driveway - they never entered my home - on Aug. 28th. One month later I call posterpass.com - the representative said they had not yet received the return and, once they did, it would still take 60-90 days to process a credit to my card. Another month passed and two $79 charges were posted to my credit card by posterpass.com. I called posterpass.com again and they will not answer their phones - "all representatives are busy, please leave a message". I am disputing more than $237 worth of charges to my credit card, not including interest, thanks to this disgrace of an organization. PLEASE BE ADVISED - DO NOT GO NEAR THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Over a yr ago I ordered 5 posters for $5 each. I was then charged a $39.00 membership fee when there was no mention of a membership. Over a month later I finally got the refund. Haven't heard from them since. Until 2 days ago I was charged $79.00 and now I have left messages and keep trying to call and have not spoken to anyone. How can they do this? Do not buy from them ever!

I began receiving these posters about a year ago and they were being delivered like every-other-day! The charges on my credit card were crazy. I was finally able to get someone on their phones after a couple weeks of calling 2-3 times a day, and they cancelled my 'account' which I don't recall signing up for. I don't remember receiving a refund, but didn't care at the time. Now, almost a year later... I've started getting the stupid posters again! I just know there are going to be charges to my credit card! This company is no doubt just a total scam.

I contacted them back in April 2009 regarding the excessive posters and charges.

On 11/30/09...a $79 charge authorization appeared suddenly on my account.

Good luck to anyone who is still having to deal with this company.

PosterPass.com fraud

This company (posterpass.com) uses facebook application games through their earn free coins by completing offers. The offer is to purchase 4 posters for $2 each plus you get a free mug with it. I thought it would be fun for the kids to choose a poster, on 8/2 I authorized $8 to come out of my account. I received the posters on the 7th. I was going to go cancel so no further charges occured but I couldn't log on to my account. I found that very odd. I searched my email for the invoice they were supposed to send and never did. So the only other way I could find them was to look up my bank account and I found I was too late. All three transactions appeared on my account tonight. On 8/7 $39.90 plus some $0.80 fee for who knows what. The same charges appeared for 8/9 and again today 8/11. After seeing hundreds of people taken by this company why can't we sue the pants off of them and throw them in jail? Even if we can't recover our money it would be worth it to me to have them in prison! Here is what the customer service idiot jeff has to say about it: (keep in mind he knows this is going on because everyone he comes in contact with has the same complaint!)

I am very sorry for any troubles you may have had with our company, poster pass. Be assured that at poster pass our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. Please call to speak to a customer service representative at [protected] so that we may swiftly rectify this situation. By providing us with some basic information, such as your name and zip code, we can look up your account to clear up any problems. If you are unsatisfied in any way, we will reasonably provide refunds, return shipping information and anything else that will make your experience with our company more satisfactory. They've done it again, I'm the next fool to think I could get a good deal.

Here's the deal. $5 for 5 poseters. Cool, I'm going to decorate my kids room with some nature/amimal pictures. Bought decent frames w/ plastic to make a presents for my kids $20ea.

Well $5 for 5, meant $5ea.
With lifetime membership to just send posters and charge $37.80/4

Then you get mad, cancel the membership, & wounder what your going to do with these posters.

Cool, no more sucking on my account with out warning and no more posters arriving at my door.

Just today, online banking and what do I see?
Posterpass.com *ucking me!
I want to fine the CEO and put !@#$% in jail!

If you are still having trouble with them contact this person:

Brian Dale
briandale@peel.com

I got a $79 charge 1 1/2 years after I canceled my account. It took me some time trying to get in contact with these people, but Brian Dale says he is the "president" of the company and he told me I will have a refund within 72 hours. I have yet to see if that is true.

Good luck!

I agree. I responded to a 4 posters for $2 and in a month I have (8) Eight $79.00 charges on my credit card from PosterPass. I have received no response from any number I call nor an email I sent to Mr. Berman.

In essence, I paid $79 a poster at this point, since they keep sending me posters, two to a box and based on the charges that's what it comes to.

Avoid this company at all cost!

PosterPass.com frauds

I'm dealing with these ### as we speak, luckly my bank when I use my Debit card puts a pre-authorized hold on these transactions, so i was able to realize whats going on. I just got off the phone with the bank and have canceled my card so these crooks cant steal anymore of my money even before I can talk to them. So far they have debited my account for $8.00+$39.80+$39.80=$87.60 for 4 posters what a joke. Now I have to wait till 10am to call these people and cancel my account, but atleast I have the piece of mind that they wont be able to bleed my account any further and I will dispute the charges with my bank once they post. Wonder if anyone has ever tried to email this [protected]@posterpass.com? Although it is probably a fake email or doesn't except emails from outside people because this guys email would be blowing up. Hey Regor1234 im also from Florida, if you need anyone else from Florida to give the Gov Crist any more documintation don't hesitate than ask. These crooks need to be stopped and I will never ever buy anything else online from survey sites or publishers clearing house. Come on John put your same canned email on my post like you do all them. Not once have you actully tried to explain your companys practices with the people complaining about your company.

PosterPass.com rip-off/scam

I signed up for an offer that was posted on FaceBook from a company called PosterPass. The offer was for 5 posters for $5 with free shipping. When I placed the order, I did not recieve an email confirmation or any kind of terms of service agreement. I received the posters a few days later with no invoice. Two days later I received another package from PosterPass with 2 more posters in it that I did not order, again no invoice. I checked my credit card statement online and it showed a charge from PosterPass for $25. I called them and they said that the offer was 5 posters for $5 each...that is not what it said. They also told me that the second package was one of two additional shipments of 2 posters that would be charged to my card at $39.80 each! I told them that I did not want any of them, and they said I could return the posters and refuse the additional packages and when they received them back they would issue a credit. So, I returned the 2 boxes I had received and refused the next shipment and then disputed the charges with my credit card company. A week later when I viewed my credit card statement online, they had charged me the $25 initial charge and 3 charges for $39.80 all within one weeks time. When I went to their website, which I had never been to before since I took the offer off of Facebook, I read the minimal terms that are shown and it said something about the first shipment coming within 2 weeks of your order and additional shipments coming once a month after that. I called to see why they were still making charges to my card, and they said that the deal was that you order 5 posters for $25 and then you get 2 shipments PER WEEK at $39.80 apeice every week until you cancel! I wondered who in the hell would sign up to pay $80 per week for posters you can buy for less than $5 apiece almost anywhere else. When I pointed out to her that the website said subsequent shipments would come once a month, she had no response other than they had recieved my packages and I would be credited, but that I might not see the credits for up to 4 months! This company has thousands of complaints all over the internet and over a thousand complaints with the Better Business Bureau, but the BBB states that PosterPass had yet to reform their business practices. BEWARE...my next step is to report them to Facebook so that hopefully they will remove their advertising from their site. How do companies like this stay in business after this many complaints?

Its no doubt, this company is as fraudulent as the governing body that allows it to continue doing business. This has got to be the most heinous company out there today, with business practices so underhanded and fraudulent, i'm surprised they still exist. Take everyone for what you can as fast as you can is their practice. Ever heard of bankrape? Ever felt it? To know that someone without permission or at least underhandedly subtracted hard earned monies from your account in such a quick fashion, that by the time you knew what happened you were short a couple of hundred dollars. $40.oo for two poster at a rate of one package every two days, you can't even send them back that fast.
It's a scam. A trick. A sin. A travesty. It is whatever you want to call it and should be stopped and somebody from this company should be slapped with jail time.
Crooks! Crooks! Crooks! Shame on them and if the owner or his family should suddenly experience any type of hardship or tragedy i hope he knows EXACTLY why it is happening. Payback. Karma.
'nuff said.

ps
what good are negative reviews if their is no governing body to mediate and help resolve the problem. How many complaints does it take to penalize a company for theft (legal or not).

Got scammed by PosterPass.com

call your bank and complain. They will interfere on your behalf and dispute the charges. They will credit you the money(s) in dispute and go after posterpass.com for compensation.
You are not alone. Complain as much and as often as you can with this company. Eventually, it will pay off for the next consumer.

Let's put PosterPass.com out of business.

I haven't seen their ad on facebook, but if you go to their website, the advertisement says "5 poster for $5 Each". The terms also indicate that it is 5 for $5 each, and indicates that twice a month you will receive additional shipments.

Maybe all the complaints are paying off.

I found their terms to be reasonably clear, except in one spot they indicate a twice monthly shipment, and further down it says shipments may be "more or less than twice a month" (that needs to go - it opens the door to essentially saying they can send you what they want when they want).

It also says refunds will occur in 10 days, not 4 months, so somebody is trying to put you off.

From their terms:
