PrivCo Deceptive Business Practices

When you sign up, they take your credit card number and say they will keep charging it until you cancel. Then, they make it impossible for you to cancel. I went onto the website to my account and sent a cancellation notice. It was ignored. I called the phone number - no one was ever there. They continue to charge and demand payment. This is a very unethical company. Avoid it!

I had a very pleasant experience with Privco. I subscribed to their Monthly option and simply made sure I cancelled prior to renewal. It was made clear to me in multiple places that the subscription would renew automatically (both on the sign up page clearly noted on the receipt they sent me). I'm not sure why anyone was so deceived by this -- I spoke to a very nice woman on the phone who even confirmed in writing via email that the subscription was cancelled. I was never billed without my knowledge and think these comments do a disservice to the type of company Privco is -- they have been really helpful in providing financial info on private companies that no one has -- and I mean no one -- every time my team needed to work on a consulting project and needed info on the particular industry's privately-held players. I've personally recommended Privco to many colleagues and fellow consulting-industry professionals and I have never heard anyone say they have deceptive business practices. Anyone willing to put their credit card info somewhere online should be well aware of what the terms of the purchase are and what they are buying or subscribing to and I thought it was pretty clear from the start, maybe I'm just more perceptive?

I would like to share my unpleasant experience with anyone considering subscribing to PrivCo.
They use deceptive marketing tactics and once you ticked on the terms & conditions, you will be automatically deducted for subsequent months until you notify them in writing although on the subscription form. I had ticked on term 1 month.
But beware of the auto renewal clause is at the bottom of the page. This was overlooked by me. An invoice and receipt for the 1 month was provided immediately. But subsequently they will take payments from your credit card without an invoice nor receipt notification. Unless you checked your credit card statement, you will not even know that they are deducting your payments. Further I would not recommend usage of this website as the information are not updated and they are many missing gaps in them. The sample format of the financial info may look impressive but the actual report for your requested companies come with financial data that are 2 -3 years ago.

PrivCo False Advertisement

I recently purchased a report for a privately held company for a school paper. After looking at the sample they shared I was expecting a number of facts on the company. I emailed the group sharing what I needed with my payment of expectation. I did not get a response. The report was sent to me and it contained less than 10% of what the sample paper had. I contacted them directly by email at two addresses and a phone call. I had no help, and when I asked if I could have full or even partial funds returned for an over $100 fee because the information had no value to me I was told no by email and no other response given to any other contact. Disgusting, Disappointing and a waste of my time and money. Don't make the same mistake that I did.

I ordered a report from PrivCo in February 2016 for a company that was public prior to 2006 and then taken private. Privco produced 10-year old financial information in the report, and a couple of meaningless other data points. The report was absolute garbage. When I called to complain - they explained that as the company was private - they really had no way to get the information that I expected, regardless of their sample report. Privco provides little if any value in their reporting.

HI, I had the same experience with PrivCo and to bad I did not reed this post before. I ordered a report on a company and only got 10% of what was included in sample report. For example I did get the companies financial numbers - income statement and balance sheet. That was the reason I bought the report. SO DO NOT BUY REPORTS FROM PrivCO IT IS BIG SCAM!

PrivCo Wasted of Time Interviewing

A complete waste of time. The company's staff is unprofessional and not reliable.

The company completely wasted two days of my time.

Lindsey, the Office Admin, sent emails requesting a two hour conference call with Sam, the company's CEO, followed by additional interviews the next day. She also asked me to confirm the interview dates and times, which I did.I called Sam for my first interview but he did not answer the telephone. I left him a voicemail and called again but he did not respond. I called Lindsey, the Office Admin, to confirm. She told me to call again, and to send her an email if Sam did not respond. I called a third time but did not receive a response. I contacted Lindsey as requested who told me to wait for her to respond until she could confirm my interview time. I waited the entire afternoon but did not receive a response.

I called the office at 5 PM and spoke with Eric who told me I should keep waiting to find out about my interview time, and if I did not hear anything to continue waiting. I told him to cancel my interviews because the company was a waste of time.

I regret scheduling appointments with them. Do not do business with this firm. They are a fraud.
