Theft
I agreed to a trial of FREE 'miracle slimming tablets' for the sum of £2.49 post & packaging. I did not agree to this company taking money from my account but they helped themselves to £75.00 without my authorisation. I have contacted my bank and logged a dispute. As a single parent who works hard I would like my money back.
Money scam
Stupidly I signed up to the 'free trial' of the Acia pills, pay the postage only.
Then I saw the small small small print regarding them taking £75 pcm from my account, which I couldn't afford. Funny how this is only shown once you've signed up!
I called them directly BEFORE (the next day!) I recieved anything from them and spoke to an American lady and explained the situation and I could afford £75pcm, she offered me a 'one off half price deal' and I could pay £35pcm instead. I told her that this was still too much, she asked what would be a 'good' price to pay. I said there wouldn't be and I wanted the whole thing cancelled.
She as long as I returned the pills with the 'rma' number I wouldn't be charged £75. I duly returned them as soon as I recieved them, the same day!
I've just recieved a call from my bank fraud department asking about 'several transactions' of £75 within the pass two weeks on my accounts, most have bounced, some not!
Angry isn't the word
I want my money back. I have the name of the woman I spoke to and will follow it up with fraud department of my bank.

I ordered acai berry and only had to pay postage buy today they have took out £75 without my authorization. i have recieved many emails from this company saying i can only get a refund if i return the product unopened! what is the point of a 14 day trail if u can not get a refund because its opened.
Amber Rudd MP has received a most astonishing ruling from the British Regulator, the F.S.A. The ‘payment rules’ required Finance houses to refund at speed (in the case of bank debit cards, at once) all online debits the customer rejects when they appear on the Statement. The customer does not have to offer any reason or prove anything. The onus is on the finance house or bank in conjunction with the supplier to prove in due course, if necessary before a court of law, that the debit was properly made before they can reinstate it on the supplier’s behalf.
The actual ruling sent to Amber Rudd MP, Case Number 110916A of 3rd Oct 2011 included
Under payment rules, card issuers ……….. must have a customer’s consent in order to process a payment………card issuers must provide a refund …….. (for debit cards immediately, for credit cards within a reasonable period) …must restore the account to the state it would have been in ...this includes refunding any charges the customer incurred …..The card issuer must prove that the payment WAS (FSA emphasis) authorised. The customer does not have to prove that it was NOT (FSA emphasis) authorised...
(This applies to online orders but does not cover debits authorised face to face using a pin number)
£75 was taken from my online account without my knowledge
I claimed a free trial of a slimming product Super Acai. All I was to pay was £2-49p. However before I received the product £75 was taken from my online account without my knowledge. I contacted the company within 14 days of my receiving the pills, i.e 27/01/2011 to find out why this was done and I was told I was outside the time limit. This was all in small print that I failed to notice. The time limit was 14 days so I was in time.
Please advise me as to what I can do as I think many people have been hoodwinked by these "free trial" offers.
Their USA supplier deducted $99.95 from my debit card
I'm a pensioner who put ob excess weight as a result of a medical problem. I have sought a way of reducing weight which doesn't involve much excercise, which I can't do. Pureslim's online advertising persuaded me to buy a "slimming aid" based, the said, on the acai berry. Their "free offer" actually involved the payment of a small amount, and the product the sent was a colonic cleanser containing a tiny amount of acai. It has no slimming effect whasoever.
To rub salt in the wound, their USA supplier deducted $99.95 from my debit card, whose details they could only obtain from Pureslim. My bank charged a further £4 for the dollar transaction. The couple of pounds I paid for the phony goods I can write off, but the $99.95 converts to a shade over £66, and with the bank charge I'm prepared to round the claim off at £70.
