Purity Mineral Science Fraud and Scam

My wife ordered a sample of a tooth whitner and the cost was only supposed to be 1.00 for the sample. Next thing we know she gets makeup, diet pills, four subriptions to the cellphone, two mailing clubs, and an auto delivery schdule. She never wears makeup, not on a diet, dosen't do mail clubs, and dosen't even text on the cell phone. We were charged 8.95, 1.00 x 2, 79.95 twice. I had my credit card company take them off my charges and mark them as fraudulent. I am even suprised that the credit card company does business with these clowns. I had to close my account out with my credit card company in order to avoid future charges from this company. This company refuses to close her imaginary account. Let them charge away now on a closed credit card. And oh, by the way, they are not getting their products back unless they send me a postage paid mailer to mail them back in. I am not paying to mail something back she did not order. Do not do business with these people. They will try to take you for everything you are worth.

Purity Mineral Science Misleading promotion agreement

I placed an order online for a trial offer and was only to pay shipping and handling. A few days later my account is charged 59.99. I called the company to inquire and was told th at because I agreed to the trial offer that my account was charged. This is not the way it was worded on the introductory offer. This is very mis-leading and very poor business practice. I also noted that your company has many similar complaints from others. As a result I am returning my trial offer and have no intentions of doing business with their company.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH MINERAL SCIENCE OR YOU WILL SEVERELY REGRET YOUR DECISION !
Horrible company to deal with, the Mineral Science company are dishonest misleading and all around a bad company! go with Bare Minerals or Sheer Cover if you want to try good mineral makeup products without being scammed. Mineral Science company told me that I was going to be charged whether I received a product or not, which I never received, however I let my bank deal with them by shutting my card down so they could not charge anything past the 6.99 I had paid for shipping, and now I'm in the process of filing a claim to get that money back as well. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH MINERAL SCIENCE OR YOU WILL SEVERELY REGRET YOUR DECISION !

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I went online to get my kid coins for a computer game. I saw this ad for a free cosmetic product and you just pay the shipping/handling fee. I thought "Cool". Unknowingly, I was charged two weeks later $59.99 on my debit card. Again, today another fee of $29.99 on my debit checking card. I got really upset and called and said I wanted my money back. Purity Mineral Science Unable to contact

I ordered the "free sample" of the Purity mineral foundation. I did not realize until I placed the order that I was signing up for a monthly subscription. After I recieved the sample I realized that it was not something I really wanted and returned the sample. This should have unsubscribed me from this program. Several weeks later I noticed a $59.99 charge on my debit card. I still have not been able to contact anyone either by phone or by email to get this matter resolved. The charge also put my checking a count into a negative balance thus causing an overdraft fee of $35.00 to be charged to my account and several checks to be declined. This caused by bills to be late amongst other problems.

Well maybe you should keep your mouth shut if you hate to say that BS you just stated. The company is as clear as mud when you are going through the purchasing portion of the whole ordeal, however after everything is said and done they tell you very clearly in an email that is sent out immediately after the purchase without the option to back out! I'm sure you are just a spokes person for that company other wise why would you state this BS the way you did?!

I hate to say this, but it VERY CLEARLY says that you will be charged the FULL price after 14 days. It's a 14 day trial that you are required to send back to them or pay for. It also VERY CLEARLY says that you will be automatically signed up for their club where they will send you monthly shipments and autobill you. PLEASE, if you are going to complain about this at least have the decency to complain about something that isn't your own fault. READ THE FINE PRINT WHEN YOU PURCHACE ONLINE.

Purity Mineral Science Unsolicited order

Made a one time purchase of this product on Ebay. Lo and behold yesterday I received a shipment from Mineral Science as "outlined in my club membership" . What club membership ? Not only was it not wanted and not ordered, My credit card was charged without my authorization ! Communication with this company via phone and or e-mail is futile. I found the web sight to cancel my "membership", I also found out via the BBB website that they are no longer accepting complaints in Texas. I was referred to the BBB site in Pa. There is a toll free number...[protected]. The e-mail address of the head officer is ...[protected]@linkstarcorp.com. I think a class action suit should initiated against this company and charges should be filed with the Post Office as they are committing mail fraud.

I also was told that my package was lost in the mail. They apparently count on the fact that the customer is likely to not have a tracking number, and they charge you for a product you don't have and don't want.

I wish I had read these reviews before placing the trial order and having to deal with this company. I received my order and was able to successfully cancel my membership. I understood that if I didn`t like the product, I could return the unused stuff and brushes and would only have to pay the 7.95. I was never told that I had to keep a tracking record of my shipment. I live in the greater Houston area and apparently my package is lost in the mail, may be due to the hurricane Ike. Now I see a charge of 59.99 on my card that they refuse to cancel because they haven`t received the package. After arguing over the phone with the representative for 30 minutes, I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. Absolutely no morals in their business. They said the maximum they can do is to charge me only 34 instead of 59.99, because it is somehow my fault that my package was lost in the mail. I am really amazed how they are still in business. I guess the only way they are making money is by fooling customers

Purity Mineral Science Company information

I too have been scammed by company. I looked up their terms and conditions info and found they are associated with a company called: Linkstar Corp, Copperleaf Corporation Centre, 6051 Wallace Rd Suite 110, Wexford, PA [protected] www.linkstarcorp.com. You have to enter someones extension. I kept pressing numbers till it transferred me. I am waiting for a return call and received the name of the person to return my call Colleen Papst X 9001. I assured the lady I talked with Sandy I would be calling over and over again on her ext until I was refunded my monies. The terms and cond says if you don't return the product with the RMA# your account will keep getting charged $24.00 something and more products will arrive at your door.

Call this number and enough complaints maybe they will quit handling this product.

Purity Mineral Science Not honest in policy ordering!

I ordered the Purity Mineral Collection, for a total of $8.95. If you liked th product you can become a member, and then keep receiving shipments every two months. When I received the trial kit, inside the box was a notice, that yo have 14 days to try the makeup from the day that you ordered the product. If you do not wasn't it, it must have a # on it that you get by calling this number [protected]. I this is not done in this time frame you will be charged $59.95 for the trial kit. If not it must be mailed back in time, and you have to pay for shipping and handling.

I ordered the kit on March 11, 2008, I received the kit on the 19th of March, I tried the product on the 20th of march, and only had until the 24th of March, if I wanted to send the kit back, and not be a member for $59.95. Never could I get a answer on the phone, either all lines busy, or they are closed.
This information was not given when I placed the order, only when I received the kit. If I would have been given this information I would never had ordered it. This info. was not in the fine print on the original order. Because I cannot reach them I am sure I will be charged this amount because they have no notice.

This is a SCAM! If they charge me, I don't even have enough money to cover this. I am physically disabled, not mentally. But I must say this has caused so much stress on me, that of course stress will increase your pain level.

I don't know what to do. also i will not have internet service, as I will be moving, and it will be awhile before it will be hooked back up.

The company has charged my account over $200 AND I to this day have not recieved a single thing. It is to the point that I am going to be notify my state's atterney general's office and I have notified my bank of their fraud, and I am also going to notify the FBI here soon if they continue stealing unautherized fund from my husband's account. They were only authorized $7.95 with not shipping and handeling from the account and since July 26, 2008 they have cost us $560 in overdraft fees not including the over $200 that they have taken without authorization. There is so many counts of fraud involving this company that I think that it is time that some of us that they are stealing from stand together to get our money back. I normally us ID BareMinerals Bare Esscentials that I order from a catalog. And now I cannot even reorder my makeup because this company has stolen way too much money from me and my husband.

Phantom PurityMinerls strikes again! Long story short - "Brent Ettestad" (Employee for PurityMinerals) charged $59.99 for the make-up package, $7.99 for a coupon book from them and $29.99 monthly charges! To cancel the "coupon book" the phone # that was giving to me was [protected]. Their Customer Service # (ha-ha) is [protected] Mon. - Fri (closed on weekends). Funny cause I can never get through! It's been 3 1/2 weeks and not one package, nor coupon book. I wouldn't care about the darn coupon bk but I'm getting charged for it! And YES, of course, I even got charged for the make-up already, plus shipping and handling! Better Business On-line is next in my ammunition and after that, my Lawyer, for the possibilty of Identity Theft. So whose ever out there, reading my "problem-matic issue", I hope that it hasn't already happened to you and thats why you're reading my story! Good Luck with your issues, and I guess we should all just stick to buying stuff in the Department Store! :> T.L.B.

I ordered this product when I too, thought, Wow, this is a really great deal. And then the charges started coming. When I called the customer service number stated on the invoice [protected]) it would just tell me that the inbox was full (really strange for a big company). So I started looking online and found a different phone number [protected]). When I called I was the 2nd caller in line. I complained and they were willing to refund the $7.95 I paid for shipping, but that was it. I figured any money was better than none. And the girl on the phone was "so clumsy" that she accidentally refunded me the $22.04 instead of the $7.95. Awesome, I thought. When I looked closer at my Visa statement I noticed they had charged me the $59.99 as well. I called again and was transferred back and forth between 3 ladies (who all sounded eerily similar). I had to complain for close to a half hour before they decided to do anything about this. The 'manager' Colleen said she would refund me $24.00 of the $59.99 and that it would show up on my credit card within the next couple of days. Well, it's been a couple of days and the credit card company can see no sign of a refund whatsoever. They asked me to have Mineral Science write a statement promising the refund as well as NO MORE CHARGES! This was a problem, apparently these people have no handwriting skills. I got the run-around again, being transferred from 1 person to another, and finally got to speak again to Colleen. She is supposed to be e-mailing me with this written notification within the next half hour, I'm not betting on it though. I feel very silly for having been scammed, but I realize I'm not the only one, and it is this company who should feel silly.

I have not signed up for it, so I cannot say one way or the other. I came across them through TrialPay, which offers a very attractive looking incentive when they plaster their ad next to free versions of programs like ZoneAlarm firewall or Lavasoft anti-spyware, saying that if you complete an offer of theirs, they purchase the plus or pro or what have you version FOR you. Purity was one of the offers.

I read the terms and conditions, which does indeed mention the $59.99 and the resupply agreement (always read your fine print!) and was just thinking about signing up just to receive the make-up, empty the containers by, oh, maybe half? and send them right back where they came from, but that one snag has me backing off something serious: this whole business of the phones always being busy. They say you can email them, too, but if you can't get through to them by phone, I doubt email would perform any better.

So I'm just going to do what I went to Lavasoft to do: download their free anti-spyware software. This would prove far too much running around. I hope you all manage to get your money back / keep your credit scores looking shiny / nip that Purity company in the butt! They seem awfully shady.

You signe up for a trial product and the next thing you know you are being charged a ridiculous amount of 59.99 for some pitiful sample size poweders and some low grade brushes... cant we do something about this... i think we should stop them before they screw more people out of their money...

I too have been scammed by Purity Mineral Science. Just before Christmas I was online doing some shopping and happen to get in my email one of those fill out this survey and receive a free gift card. So I did, however at the end of the survey in order to receive you gift card, you have to purchase something from one of the listed merchants from the survey site. I had picked Purity Mineral Science because it clearly stated FREE Trial pay 7.95 so I did I assumed what a great price for mineral makeup, and as a gift to a friend I bought it. Well I did receive my initial makeup, wrapped it up and was given as a gift. I never opened the box. The next thing I knew my debit card was being charged 59.99 so I called my bank to see what the charge was they explained it would be best for me to resolve it with the merchant. I did not have a telephone number so my bank provided me with Purity Minerals phone number. I too called many, many times and got no answer the phone would either ring, or I would be placed on hold for 20 minutes or so and then would be disconnected. I did file a claim with my bank the beginning of January 2008, and initially everything was credited back which was the 59.99, and an additional 29.99. I found out yesterday4/1/08 that Mineral Purity Science was able to get my bank to think I was aware of all these charges basically calling me a liar, and telling them I received make-up that I was claming I didn't receive. So now the bank is trying to issue payment for 105.00 to Purity Mineral when I thought it was only going to cost me 7.95, which by the way I did agree to pay. So I took it upon my self to call the number on the claim papers from my bank and it was LINKSTAR (dba Purity Mineral Sciene), and spoke to a Sheryl Johnson who wrote to my bank slandering me saying I did indeed receive the additional makup kits that were sent to my house, and I obviously am trying to get out of making the payment . Now I received one kit, the kit I thought was 7.95 I never received a second makeup kit. I am just so outraged by this. I am going to file another claim because I absolutely refuse to pay the 105.00 when it clearly stated FREE TRIAL for 7.95. I was happy to see I wasn't the only one who has had a problem with this merchant, hopefully my bank will research into this effectively and see that it is indeed a scam.

FIGHT BACK; GO TO YOUR BANK AND FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS COMPANY FOR MAKING UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AGAINST YOUR ACCOUNT OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

DO NOT BACK DOWN.
Add me to the long list of those scamed by Mineral Science/Purity V. I received what is suppose to be a "mineral make-up", well I have used several different brands of mineral make-up and not one of them turned my skin the weird color this stuff did. Then I get billed for $59.95 and you are correct their line is either busy or you are the 25th or 40th caller in line. Sounds like they have it wrapped up, but I am not finished with them yet. I filed a complaint with my bank for the unauthorized charges made by these people. I did the same thing with the magazine company that charged me $165.00.

These people are running a real racket and taking innocent people for a ton of money. Get the word out, go to your bank and challenge these charges, when they have to pay back enough, maybe they will back off.

Don't let them continue to win.

Today, I got a collection information from Equidata that
I owe $69.99 to company called Purity Mineral Science Linkstar.
I found that company in online and ironically... it was a comapany that produces make ups.

Let me tell you something about myself. I'm a "18-year-old MALE."
What the hell were they thinking?
I don't even have a credit card neithr a debit card.
and how the hell did they even take out money with my name on it?

I found out that I wasn't the only one who have been deceived.
There are tens and hundreds of people have been deceived just like me in a same way.

I call them and they said in reluctant and ill-mannered way
that I have to talk to the collection company because they have nothing to do with this business,
and they tried to hang up my call as fast as they can.
Seems like they know that they are deceiving people and they are very well-trained in this way.
I wasn't even done with talking but since they were so ill-mannered, I couldn't stand another second
and just gave up my call and called Equidata (the collection company)
and they were also ill-mannered and unkind much as that fraud company: Mineral sicence.
All they told me was that I should call the police to report and they just hung up as soon as they were done talking.

I was about to call police but my mother was afraid of me being in a big trouble
so she ended up paying what she never even involved in.

I really want to tell you all that this company is full of fraud
and no one ever should have any business with them what so ever.
And if you are in a same situation, please do your best to take your money back from them
because they are making money in this was like a parasite

Most of these comments are old, by a year or so. Perhaps the company has changed their customer service because I have not had an issue. I signed up for the trial and actually like the product. It feels light on my skin and doesn't run on humid days.

Their terms and conditions and they are very clear about what you can expect. Are you being unfair because you did want to go through with the offer or didn't read terms (the initial fee and the first charge if you keep the shipment) all that well? They also state that if you decide to keep it, you will be enrolled in the club and receive shipments every 60 days. Every 60 days was too much for me, so I went online and changed my order to every 90.

I forgot my password and after sending an email to their service department, I heard back in less than 24 hours with directions. That's less than most businesses I deal with online.

Overall, I am happy with Purity. I'll be back with an update when I decide to cancel my membership.

This is a fraudelent company and I have so notified my credit card company. They told me that if my account is charged (Visa) to notify them and the company will be ORDERED to not only refrain from using my credit card but they willl also be ORDERED to refund any money that they have "stolen" from my account. I mistakingly fell for an ad that told me that I'd get a $500 Macy's Gift Card if I went through this process of first buying 8 OTHER "free" products. Stupidly I fell for it, thinking that this would all be harmless. I ended up buying some products: Colopure, Hoodiastar, Danielle Janine Jewelry, and Purity Mineral Science. They all were scams, and ended up charging more than what they said they would. I'm still being charged for some of them, and need to put an end to this. I never got that gift card either that they said I would. Seeing these complaint for the other products I purchased makes me wonder if they are all linked to one another. I need help in getting my refund as well. So let this be a lesson to you all, 1) never to buy online, or 2) read the fine print.

I noticed right away this morning that something was not right in the amount this company wanted to charge me. There were 4 transactions from these people on bank account. I called my bank right away and put a dispute in. I have to call the bank back tomorrow to see what is going on. Since these are pending transactions I am lucky. I wish I would have researched this company first because I would have never even tried them.

Purity Mineral Science This company is a scam!

Purity Mineral Science is a scam! They claim to send you a 'free sample' and then charge you immediately $59.99 for products not ordered. Beware - the $7.95 small shipping fee is a ruse in order to get your credit card info.

They are a total scam, I also got suckered into their make up trial, the customer service are very rude, they got me for 89.99 the first time, I canceled after the second package, they robbed me for 30.41. I will never do business with them again.!

After trying free trial was unhappy with product. Tried to get required authorization number but never could get any one to answer phone or their was no actual e-mail account that was given on line. Mailed the product back first class anyway, they still charged my credit card $59.95.

I agreed to a 14 day trial for purity mineral make up. Within two days it broke my skin out. On the receipt it states that you must have a rma# to be obtained from their customer service team [protected] this phone number is busy all the time, i have been calling every day at least five times a day! The return policy states without a rma# $59.99 will not be returned to your credit card. I called information to get an alternate number [protected] it just rings!

This IS a scam! My son ordered a trial and had it sent to me. After 2 weeks they charged $128 dollars for the trial. Nowhere in the box was any information on cancelling or charges or anything. This makeup is garbage! It gave me a rash and goes on very uneven and looks cakey! I am writing them a letter and if no results, I will report them to the bbb and ftc.

I also ordered the product without fully reading the terms. While I liked the product, I was surprised when I kept receiving new product and, of course, the charges for them on my credit card. When I phoned to complain, the person I spoke to explained the arrangement and reprimanded me for not reading the terms. She was right and I was humbled. However, I encountered no problems when I stated that I wanted future deliveries to stop--the deliveries stopped and there were no futher charges to my credit card.

I have since learned (the hard way) that Purity is not the only company who operates in this way. While it is true the terms and conditions could be better stated, being "taken advantage of" by these companies is really our own fault for not taking the time to read the fine print. I don't think that warrants calling the company a scammer. Swallow your pride and accept responsibility for not taking the time to read the fine print and consider this a lesson learned.

NOT A SCAM! AWESOME MAKEUP AT A GREAT PRICE!

I am shocked so many of you blame the company because you don't read and follow the terms! I have been using mineral science for the past 3 years and I love it! It is awesome makeup and I have never had a problem with the makeup or the company. I signed up and paid the s&h and had 14 days to cancel. They sent me a makeup case, brushes, 2 foundation colors, blush, and the mineral finishing powder. I loved it from the start. I paid the $60 to keep it all and have been with them since. You can't get makeup this good for this cheap, I switched from bare essentials and haven't missed their product or price tag. Purity might be more expensive to start but the makeup shipments cost less. Bare essentials cost less to start but the makeup shipments are ridiculously overpriced.

If you sign up for a trial, try it the day you get it. If you don't love it, send it back and cancel. If you keep the product, don't complain about paying for it!

I agree, I cancled on the site and on the phone with this company and they still charged my bank. Today I spoke to a rep and told her I have proof I returned the product because someone signed for it thanks to the USPS return reciept so then she asked for a tracking number in order to get my money refund back. I also read the fine print and returned before the trial was over like 3 weeks because the make-up was not quality and does not match thanks ladies for the warning.
