bad & unreliable service
I am having a very bad experience with SLF maid agency in Hougang br. I have a helper from them in early March from India, the helper was ok, English not as good as what the staff told us, but its ok. Then, the helper has constant stomach pain, went to doc & certified pregnant. Have to sent back immediately, they have no transfer maid, so I have to jaggle bet my work & household for another 1month to wait for the replacement helper from Mymar.
To our disappointment, the helper cant speak English nor understand at all, which the staff told us she can speak... And when we feedback, she is irresponsible & said we cannot send the maid back to agency to train. But how to communicate & teach when she can’t even understand the time, the day, what a 'cloth', ‘cup’ is after 2wks... And my children cannot understand or communicate with her. And I don’t have an elderly at home to teach her all the time & this I also told the agency before.
We wanted to complaint against the staff and asked her for the Manager in charge of Hougang and she gave a name and said will ask the Manager to call us. Which no one call after days, so we called Hougang br and they said this person has resigned. We then manage to feedback to another in-charge at Upper Bukit Timah br – he helps to process another replacement from India & said reserved for us but as their passport are not ready, we have to wait for another 1month. After 3wks, the Hougang br called & told us the passport is ready and 'MUST' come down the next day to pay the insurance & sign the form. Told her wkend she said “CANNOT” because another person is keen on this helper also. Feedback to Bt Timah br, he reassured us everything ok & will reserve for us and we went down on that wkend 19May to Katong br to sign.
Then no news from the agency after 2wks, so my husband called the Bt timah br, he told hubby & said the helper English also not good, passport not ready, ask we to choose another maid! Omg, we waited for 1month for nothing! We told him we had called the helper thru phone & we wanna give her a try, but we don’t know why he is not delivering what he agrees, maybe they made a mistake & gave the maid to others! And my hubby talked to Hougang br, she said because we didn’t pay for the insurance which is the rule for their Hougang br, so nothing is processed!
It's really a night mare dealing with the agency, inefficient, dishonest, poor customer svc and wasted so much our time! We want an answer from them and wrote in to complain, but no one call or email back after 3days. And when we call, they push the ball to each other and does not wanna give a managment contact.
Once you paid, they dun care abt you, hope to warn others not to waste time on this agency.

Bad experience with SLF. The experienced and good maid which they so highly recommended actually with no work experience and did not receive any training as the agency had claimed. There is no service provided to employer as long as you already paid..
Try to aviod them, this agency not only create the problem for you, they same time take away your money.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
True, they keep saying the maid passport not ready, this & that... after u chosen & waited for the maid for 3-4wks, and ask you to choose again! Waste everyone's time. I think some agencies should investigate abt SLF & stop them from cheating the clients!

I got into the contract w SLF in 2012 after my indo maid went back home. As recently new Indo maid are more ex n limited, I have taken SLF Myanmar maid instead, we got a replacement maid from the agency after the sales person highly recommend her, since our maid went back n we urgently needed one. We go ahead with the contact, the maid is lazy n after 4months we found she have hp n she keep lying! She does not own up when she burnt my clothes, break the dishes n the last straw she having BF despite we do not allow her to get out of the house! We send the maid back imm n get another Myanmar maid as our contract with the agency haven't end. The 2nd was worse, she dun understand English n have no knowledge of doing housework, we request to terminate w this agency and return us the unused maid's Loan to us, we are being charged $300 for admin fees. In the end we wasted time n money with no help from the domestic helper! This agency sucks, pls do not even start any contract w them!

First, they provided a burmese maid to us with little prior, or in fact no, training. After some time when we realised she wouldn't do because she kept bungling up, we asked for a new one, which they did agree to, they told us to wait. We waited, waited and waited. And while we were overseas in Hong Kong, they suddenly demanded for us to collect the new maid (and send back the previous one who was at home with my sons) immediately or charge us a sum! How RIDICULOUS!
The new one was as bad and we found out in time to come. On 3 occasions, she'd suddenly throw missy fits and tell us she wants to return to Myanmar, after which we would contact the agent and let them talk. AND the agent would repeatedly tell us the maid didn't say anything about wanting to return. The agent accused us of lying. Preposterous. My wife has back problems and we actually told the maid not to pull stunts like these since we needed her to take care of an elderly as well.
The drama ensued and we decided to send her back to the agency. Guess what? The agents didn't give a hoot about us - just took her back and processed her case. No mentions of providing new domestic helpers, no mentions of review of the case - the maid was obviously lying through and through. Maid even said for the first time to the agent that she was having leg pains when we'd hardly send her out to buy anything since she has a terrible sense of direction.
IN CONCLUSION, POOR SERVICE, LOUSY UNTRAINED HELPERS.
Fully agreed! Their charges are highly compared to most of the others agency & they claimed that its because all their maid are well trained and they are very strict on their maids, for those who disobey they will sent them home strict away. For all employers view I guess we will have the same option that we dont mind to pay more to have a good maid so that we can have a peace of mind. The 1st maid I had with them was already a disaster, she went downstairs to meet guys and carry the handphone with her that she not suppose to carry handphone. We call the agency, their simple reply is if you want to return you have to wait for 1-2 months for the new one nothing else they can do! Just wanted to push you away, we had no choice and waited for the new maid. They gave us a date to pick up the maid, but due to their mistake they forget to sent the documents over they are unable to realease the maid to us on the promise date! They just simply tell you to wait for a few days more, we had already taken leave and yet they just simply tell you no choice! Defintely there are not service ! We ask them to sent the maid to us as we are unable to take leave, they still dare to tell you that you had to pay for the transport fee when their driver sent the maid over. Now the new maid create a new headache to us, everyday reading newsapaper, daydream and super lazy.Without promission let the sister in our house, insist of going out when they got no off days. Same story applies when you phone the agency, pushing around the problem without a solution.

Yes i had the similar experience with A1 Employment Agency. There is no sense of integrity honesty or care for the clients once a sale is over. All they care about is making money at the expense of employers such as young working mums like me.
I cannot agree more. Even before I make full payment (before application), I received similar treatment. The agent is polite but what he said was a pack of lies. I eventually found out the truth. Perhaps changing employers before or after the maid has arrived will benefit the agency more. A maid can be shared by a few employers. Imagine the total amount they have collected for penalty. There is no service after sales, no follow up. My maid is not here yet, and they have already started to ignore me. I guess they do so in order to make me withdraw, pay penalty, forfeit all my payments and do the same procedure for the next unfortunate employer. If you return maid to them and do not want to take any replacement, you cannot claim back your loan as what I heard from a friend. So I guess the whole process will start all over again for the next employer who will have to pay the loan too. From the second employer onward, I guess there is no need for them to pay the agents overseas so it is more profitable. I believe they are not inefficient. They are just working for the benefits of the agency at the expense of the employers, they cannot afford to be honest or caring. It is a totally wrong attitude. Doing business should have some sense of integrity if they want the company/organization to grow, well-reputable, solid, established and to continue for a long time with loyal customers who will even bring in more of their relatives, friends or business associates. Well, i guess that for any agency we go to, we have to find out more about them first. We have to be careful,
read everything thoroughly before we sign.
