Studio 31 Brazilian Wax - Stay away from this salon if you don't want to be injured!

Studio 31 are the most shockingly bad beauty salon in Palmerston North.
First of all, they are the most expensive. For what you get, it's terrible value.
This is what happens.
When you go into the room, there is only a curtain. It is right in the middle of the salon, and anyone getting their nails done, sitting in the waiting room, or anywhere, can hear your conversations. They ask you to remove your pants and underwear, and don't leave the room. You then lie on the table, exposed to the world with only a curtain protecting you. I asked for a paper G string, and was told that they didn't have them . Every other salon does.
She then started applying the wax. It was far too hot and burning, so I told her and she just told me I was sensitive. The blister and scar say otherwise. It was agony, as they used strip wax. I asked for little breaks between waxes, and she didn't seem to care, just wanted to get me out of there asap so she could get the next victim in. She (Louise) was so unprofessional, making comments about my privates and about some personal scars I had.I felt so uncomfortable.
She didn't even do a good job, when I got home I had to finish removing hairs she'd missed myself.
I wouldn't wish an experience at Studio 31 upon anyone.

I have only just seen this letter and am appalled at the way that you were treated. Louise Smith no longer works at Studio31 as she is now one of the owners of Spoilt Beauty on the Terrace. We are proud of the way in which we do Brazillians and pride ourselves on our customer care. The curtains that section off the rooms are extremely heavy double layer thermal drape with extra width for over drape on either side. There is never any chance that your privacy will be compromised.
As for our cream wax, it is imported from Italy and is top of the range. The temporature is on a constant thermostat and therefore is unable to burn you. If you have been damaged then this will be due to poor waxing, either not being pulled tight enough or lack of care with technique. Again I am so sorry that you had such a dissapointing experience with us and we would be happy to talk to you about this and come to an arrangement to make up for it. Please give us a call on 3571976.

Studio 31 Brazilian Wax

Studio 31 is the worst beauty salon in Palmerston North.
I went there to get a Brazilian wax done for the first time in my life, and what I experienced I will never forget.
First you are led into a room that does not have a door. Just a curtain. The room is very central too, and everyone getting nails done/in the waiting room/ anywhere in the salon can hear your conversations. You are told to take off your jeans and underwear. The beauty therapist did not leave the room, and was surprised when I asked her to do so. You then lie on the table, completely exposed, with just a CURTAIN separating you from people walking past. The beauty therapist then comes back in. I asked for a paper G string, and they said they didn't have them. Any respectable salon does. She then started applying the wax. They use strip wax, which other salons tell me is a cheap and nasty way to do it. They also don't check the temperature of the wax, because when she applied it, it burned so badly. I asked her why this was, and she just said I was over sensitive. The blister and scar I got say otherwise. It was incredibly, unbearably painful. I asked her to stop and let me have little breaks, and she just kept going. She (Louise was her name) was very unprofessional, asking about scars I had on my legs (that were there for personal reasons) and wouldn't give it up. She also made comments about my private parts. I felt extremely uncomfortable. When she was finally done, I got dressed and went home (As you do) and noticed that she had missed a lot of hair. I had to get rid of it myself. Terrible service, terrible staff, and I would never go back there again. I found a MUCH better salon (278 on Cuba) which treats me with respect and dignity and I leave happy. Studio 31 is an embarrassment.

Also, every one of our therapists are CIDESCO and CIBTAC trained and qualified.

How awful! Any beauty therapist should know the basics. Obviously not trained AT ALL. Good on you for putting this up. Copy and Paste this link up on your facebook (if you have one) and theirs too. Name and Shame them!
