sunelec.com Didn't get what I ordered.

I have ordered from Sun Electronics about 4 times over the years. Every order was $crewed up in some manner but they always made it 'right' until most recently.
Orders, and the errors:
Order 1)
I ordered two AirIndustrial Wind Genertors, paid, recieved 1 AirIndustial, and 1 WindSeeker;
They apologized and threw in another WindSeeker to satisfy . Was happy :)

Order 2)
Ordered 10 or so 100 Watt solar panels, 'international credit card' was charged, was then informed there was no stock(despite phone and website saying otherwise). I was refunded but lost $150 or more in Credit card fees/exchange rates(back and forth). I provided copies of cc statements.
I ended up ordering 2 of the original 100, and 4 85's. They offered to refund half of the losses in exchange(tho. honestly I can't be sure they ever did). Still felt I got a good price vs local pricing.

Order 3)
Ordered an AirX MARINE Wind generator, full price, received an AirX Land generator.
I provided photos and their records did show the same;
I had to point out the error, and insisted on price differential refund. To which they complied vs paying for shipping back and forth.

Order 4)
Long winded in details, but basically Ordered $1695(?) worth of 12 Sun-85 Panels, and an OutBack FM-80 Charge controller, $188 freight(2hrs away). I verified over the phone TWICE the specifications and size, and we even waited a day so someone could check the panels 'in the warehouse'. The panels listed as very well certified "Quality Products certified (TÜV, UL, CE, VDE, ISO)" were actually not certified at all, and the size was wrong on 1 side(so if someone did check, they didn't check both). Now I was paying for 'certified panels' at $0.98/Watt, to which there are 4 or more other 'brand name' panels I could have bought that 'defiantly were' but given sunelecs longevity, I thought their warranty was as good as another so ordered these. Panels arrived in-tacked, charge controller arrived missing manuals in a 'patched up' quite broken/dented in box.
I tried suggesting financial compensation for the misrepresented items, OR assurances they would cover a full refund including Freight both ways, but instead I get messages saying that 'if they arrive broken, I will not be compensated, and a selling point for freight delivery was that there was a stack of broken panels in the warehouse waiting for insurance claims.

My thoughts are, they are not 'what I ordered' if they should or should not get broken on return, why should I pay for whatever condition they arrive in; including freight/restocking . IF I ordered these, and somehow choose not to keep, it's understandable for restocking and paying fright all around, but I did not get what was claimed to be ordered.

I sent in web site screen shots showing showing incorrect stats on panels, my original invoice of $1695, my bank statement showing and actual charge(overcharge) of $1715. A Screenshot of their home page showing the panels I paid $0.98/Watt for, were that very week actually sold for $0.54/Watt(what I actually received I believe). Always being one to try to use what I have received, I offered to keep them in exchange for a refund in the price difference of the panels (98c/watt vs 54c/watt) or compensation for a bit of both(given the whack the charge controller took somewhere/missing manuals etc).

I honestly don't FEEL theres anything unscrupulous going on, or intensional, just poor communication between employees, and possibly English translation(majority of staff are Hispanic, and lots of 'would you please repeat on both sides).

There were lots of other 'little things', having to request a receipt/invoice, freight label/quantity/items/weight totally wrong?, finding out after the fact I am supposed to register any box damage with freight company(I did bring it up AS it was being unloaded, the freight driver said it is how it was received, I have security camera pictures showing it arriving at my door in said condition(thankfully). This is the first time I've ever 'freighted' anything.

I am a day away from trying to initiate my first credit card "Charge Back" and simply directing sunelec to come get everything at their cost.(as it should be anyway imo... ) since they don't seem interested in refunding the $509 difference in 'cost of panels' and me taking the risk on charge controller(with it's 5 year default warranty, it does power on; but a load test won't be possible for 6mo).

Thought I would share my fun and experience.

I spoke with the bank, their charge back/dispute people advised me NOT to return the panels! They said that they were my only definite evidence that they were misrepresented.
They could be 'broken' during the return process and seller refuse to reimburse on those grounds;
Or seller could say they were in-fact what I ordered, keep freight charges and charge restocking fee.
Screenshots and emails are 'documentation' they use in their dispute 'resolution'.

You know the more I think about this and my other orders, I wonder if the unrelenting 'errors' is a profit tactic. Anyone who perhaps didn't check/notice right away that their generator wasn't the "Marine" version vs Land, or voltage/specification errors and just 'live with it'... I was basically given panels worth $500 for $960... Anyone else experience these 'honest mistake errors on a regular basis'?

sunelec.com Vaporware product & CS

Here's my experience with Sunelec.com: Sunelec promotes some of the lowest prices around for solar panels. So, in November of 2011 I ordered a dozen solar panels from Sun Electronics of Miami Florida. They immediately charged my credit card for payment the next day. Over the past 2 1/2 months they have advertised "We found more Evergreen Panels" on their website. I never received any product, or contact from the company, so I started trying to reach them. After several weeks of no-answer calls where I left voice mails, and emails (to John Kimball, Vanessa, & Pieere [per their website instructions] asking for my order status, they now indicate they are "out of the Evergreen panels" that I ordered. No one ever bothered to make contact with me or even to return my queries. Once they have your money their interest in you is essentially non-existent. At this point I'm contacting my CC company to have the charges reversed.

My recommendation is to avoid my mistake - spend a little more money to deal with a reputable company.

Mark

I ordered a lot of solar panels and a SUNNYBOY 7000 inverter for delivery. I received the panels, but never got the inverter. I contacted Juan Vergara at sunelec and he said that all their documentation said that they had delivered the inverter. After I asked him to show me the documentation of the delivery he said that it did look like i had not received the inverter after all, but he had to confirm this with SMA (the inverter manufacturer). After that he never responded or informed me of the result. I contacted SMA myself and they confirmed that they had not delivered the inverter to me and that they had told Juan Vergara that it was so. Now a month later Sunelec does not answer any of my emails - they answer the phone, but when they hear that i need to talk to Juan Vergara then i get disconnected. I have been absolutely civil and held a nice tone with them - even in spite of their lack of response.

I also urge everybody to stay away from this company.
