The stole $240 from me
The host Barry treated me very badly. He tried to force himself on me at a restaurant. I hardly was able to get away. He is a big heavy man. I called the next day to cancel all the dinners that I paid for in advance. They stole $240 from me plus the $99 fee. The cancelation policy is a lie. The man I spoke with Bob laughed me and called me a a "stupid boob". These men intimidate women and steal their money. I am very afraid of them. They have my address. I am afraid to go to the police. They should be stopped somehow. That guy Barry will hurt a woman one of these days.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

June 4th 2009 I called the Miami line of the Single Gourmet. I was refered by friends and excited to try a different type of Singles event. I spoke to owner, Barry Adelman and said I was only interested in Miami Dade county events, I would not travel to Broward. Did they have Miami events, he stated yes. They were all over and on the website it has Coral...

I had been a member of Single Gourmet in 2004. They had lovely events and I was always please with the restaurants. At that time I was involved for 1 yr then cancelled because I met someone. At that time Barry had a bad reputation with the women although I never had a problem with him. In December of 2015, I rejoined and had to call to ask when I would receive the newsletter. After I received the newsletter, I signed up for a restaurant near me in Dania called "Hemingways". One day after my reservation I decided to stop there because I was visiting a store next to it. The owner knew Barry and Single Gourmet from the past but said they had nothing booked. I called her when I returned home to give her Barry's number and a couple days later I received a call from Barry stating that that venue had been cancelled and for me to pick another one. Well I picked LaCigale in Delray and it took me over an hour to arrive to the restaurant to find out there was no Single Gourmet event that night. The waitress stated she had other calls about it also but had absolutely nothing booked for them. They got me for $162. with membership and a check for dinner. They obviously need it more than me but it's low. What happened Barry? Annette Hawley
