Resale of timeshare
We paid this company £300 a year ago to sell our timeshare due to I'll health. We were told it would be sold within 3 months & the money we had paid would not be touched until it sold and then it's would be returned to us. A year on there is no sale. They came up with the idea of exchanging o a UK timeshare over a month ago. We agreed to this but after numerous calls and emails to them we have not heard a thing. They o to reply to our emails or return our calls and they still have our money. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY and do to give them your money.
Timeshare resale
It is time to say after 24months I never get a single inquiry from sales advert done through the dummy websites of visions of the world UK company, they got upfront commission fees of US$ 450.00 . My advise to timeshare owners not to deal with this UK company any more.
This company is fraud, since the got my money $450.00 as upfront commission to sell my time share for almost a year now, they gone away. I strongly recommend all timeshare owners not to deal with this company at all
After almost 18 months, this UK (Visons of the world) company has done nothing to sell my time share after they got the advance commision of US$ 450.00, so I recommend time share owners not to deal with this company at all. Should any one need further details of my case with this company I'll be more than happy to explain.
Thoses responses from you are false ones, I'll keep posting my compalint against your company anywhere online.

Wanted £250 upfront to put a timeshare property on their website... But refused to send out ant form of communication in regards to acknowledgement of agreement, terms and conditions etc. Not even an e-mail, never mind an actual real contract of some sort...
The standard should "apparently" be that you pay no money up front and any monies due (commission, etc...) is taken out of the sale value. But just as regulation tries to cut down on one form of pre-payment scam, they just rename the fee to something else... and it carries on...
So, to summarise:
1. Do not pay ANY monies up front, no matter how inflated the figure you can apparently get for your week/points/etc.
2. They will become very pushy and aggressive when you do not want to pay money without first receiving some form of contact/documentation.
3. The timeshare re-sale market is a mess (and that was before the current economic nightmare). Never mind trying to sell, just try and get out of your yearly levy and you will be doing well...
4. Do your research. They rely on people not reading what can and cannot be done.
And the final point... prepare yourself...
If you think buying/selling a house from an agent is painful and dodgy, dealing with the people in the timeshare industry reaches whole new levels of pain. It is riddled with dodgy practices and scamy people...
(... and so much for (self-) regulation...!?)
Finally... Name and shame...
Shellly - Sales?
Very pleasant until you ask to many questions...
Penny - Reception
Obviously used to dealing with irate people... Suggestion, get out while you can... they will change your whole perception of what is normal.
My transaction with Visions of the World Southend commenced August 2010 and completed a few days ago (nearly 7 months). In their final letter I was asked to make comments on how their service could be improved. During the course of my transaction calls made by me to the office in Southend were received by; not arrived in the office, system down, out to lunch, off sick, on holiday, the line is busy, they have been busy, could not get hold of my purchaser, the purchaser was on holiday, the list was endless. Even when I chased them by telephone calls to update me on my transaction their email response was that I had no need to keep calling when they had information they would contact me. I called and emailed in the first instance because for the first 7 weeks of the commencment of the transaction I heard nothing. Only when I called did I find out that the original Sales people had left the company. There replacements would give me the minimal amount of information during the transaction and I never ever got the true story unless I called to drag it out of them. Litigation seemed to be my only option out and even then one of their own staff members agreed that this was the course of action I should take. I reminded them that I was the customer and would now add that without my "product" ie timeshare they would not be in business. Customer care is non-existant within this company. I shall not be responding as I have already done so previously - quite clearly they did not read my email.
Also one more thing, we DO NOT charge an upfront commission as we have discussed before. You paid for on-line advertising.
Hello again. We have gone nowhere and I suggest that you refrain from posting untrue comments regarding my company on this site and also on any other site. Thanks you.
the dont even respect employees
I was an employee at Visions of the World for some time working in a few departments. I left on good terms and i want this to be taken at face value. I urge you, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. they have over 30 thousand people who have paid them money to sell their timeshare and they have sold around 1000 according to the records. Also do not go to their offices, either in southend or yorkshire as all they will ask for is your money or they wont do anything, even with your money they will just sell you another one at a discount.

I agree with "thisisntwright"
Anyone who starts a comment with 'To be honest' or 'I dont usually start rumours' or even this one ' i want this to be taken at face value ' is probably not to be trusted themselves.
Also someone who has already retracted part of their original complaint is likely to be untrustworthy also, and this complaint has been reduced from when I first read it over trhe weekend. I will see if I can get the original full complaint and post it on here.
Visions sold two of my timeshares, and another belonging to my brother.I have also bought from them. I have met Jason and Glenn, and found them to be likeable, certainly not drugged up which was suggested in the first complaint. Glenn can be a bit gobby, but he is a salesman.
As for parting with money, Visions dont hold your money anyway, they offer a secure holding account which is administered elsewhere to look after your money.
I would think that this person has a grudge against them as he probably got the push, thats is even if he ever worked there.
It annoys me that idiots like this can slander a company's name and get away with it.
Must be my age...
do not trust visions of the worl UK company
Since Febrauary 2010 I did not get a single inquiry on my time share for sale, which proves that this company is blackmailing the timeshare owners including their managing director, so I would recommend any owners not to advertise on their website or deal with them. Since they got the money they disappeared !
it is almost two years since I paid the upfront fees of US$ 450.000 to UK company named (visions of the world), there is no single inquiry on my unit which means this company has a false website and sales people, so my strong recommendation to all time share owners not to deal with this uk company. I made several escalations to ARDA to investigate my case with them so it is under process.

I am so upset paid £ 400 to them to sell 2 weeks. How could we have been so stupid !
Time share resale
Vision of the world is UK company took my money $ 450.00 upfront as advertising and marketing fees and then nothing heard from them, they were aggressive to get credit card details rather that listening what the owner wants to sell. After getting the money they did not bother to respond to my emails. They use a dummy and static website which it has ARDA...

It certainly is unfortunate that VOW staff resorted to embellish the hopes of the timeshare owners making them believe it would sell within a short period of time. No such garantees can be believed to be true to begin with. Sales are sales. No one can promise such an outcome. However, this is nothing compared to what I read today.
RDO Helps Consumers Who Lost Money To Resale Company Visions Of The World - RDO eNews 28-04-2015
Statements like these upset me most. RDO (Resort Developers Organization) will help consumers who lost money in hiring the services of an advertising company to help sell their timeshares...
How about helping timeshare owners to sell their timeshares in the first place... why not regulating maintenance fees increases to a minimum? The main reason timeshare owners have to hire specialized resale companies in the first place is simply that they get very little to no help at all from their own resorts. Why are timeshares not selling so well on the resale market? Mainly dues to high annual dues with yearly annual increases charged from developers who are taking their members hostage. Not only that, nowadays, we can notice resort developers keeping the best inventory for themselves for marketing purposes - denying availability to their own members - charging high transfer fees to prevent resales and pocketing more off resales.
Although there are exceptions to this rule as some resorts still offer great value, in general, timeshares have greatly been affected directly from the way they are managed from the developers. Neglecting maintenance and charging unjustified high increase imposed to their own members. Why isn't RDO help timeshare owners recover from their initial highly paid investment that went directly to the developers' pockets and is hardly worth anything today? These are the same developers at the base of RDO... who by fueling this negative propaganda against resales are diverting the issue onto companies who are responding to the needs of timeshare owners. I can't wait to see RDO helps timeshare owners with reselling their timeshares... this is I'd like to see.
Visions of the World let my timeshare for 3 years, got paid for 2 years, this year got no money.
They owe me £1600. Can't get through to them.
Just wondering are they still operating.
