Without consulting me, R&H initiated legal direction with three lawyers costing me over $1,355 in less than a week
Without consulting me, R&H initiated legal direction with three lawyers costing me over $1,355 in less than a week. I hired R&H expecting legal guidance when my husband went missing and instead they started pressing on divorce and guardianship of our children. When I raised concerns, no one knew what I was talking about and referred to me in a demeaning manner (after I referred to the Managing Partner several times and three lawyers). I was looking to create a relationship to look at financial matters, such as real estate and be of legal sound in an unsure time for my family. My husbands remains were located one and half years after I contacted R&H. To me, this business was very cold, like robots and I felt that they took my money without the service I hired them for.
We contacted Robinson & Henry P
We contacted Robinson & Henry P.C. last October to help us with a real estate lawsuit brought against us, and their team helped defend our case. We live out on the eastern plains in a very small town rural community. We were a bit hesitant having an attorney from the big city, but their team was very down to Earth, easy to talk to, and made the process easy for us to understand which really helped lessen the stress we were feeling. We felt very confident with their ability to defend us with their knowledge, experience and in the professional manner in which they always conducted themselves. We will most definitely use them if we have the need for an attorney again. We will recommend them to any and all our friends who need someone that is excellent at what they do. We are so relieved and grateful that we chose to call Robinson & Henry when hiring an attorney. Thanks, Robinson & Henry! John and Jane Doe, Colorado.
Unfortunately, I had to give them a rating, but in reality, they deserve none. Just as other customers have stated, they take your money and disappear. I hired them for my son's and my car accident case back in October and wished I had done my homework on them beforehand. I was assigned to Dale and her assistant Tia, who are unresponsive. They are quick to call you and appear friendly when you sign the representation papers. However, once that's done, they stop returning your phone calls or emails until they arbitrarily decide to respond.
Months went by without any progress on my son's case, even though both of us had finished our medical treatments at the same time. After I expressed my dissatisfaction with Dale to the firm and threatened to terminate their services, James called me. I shared my grievances with him. He acknowledged that they had not met their own customer service standards and, surprisingly, after that conversation, they began to work on my case again, but still not on my son's case. James scheduled another phone call with me for two weeks later, at a time that suited him, not me, at 8 am. However, no call came at the appointed time. Instead, James called me at 2:45 pm, pretending the meeting was set for 2 pm.
After further complaints and my refusal to pay their 33 1/3% fee due to the lack of action on our cases, he claimed my 'expectations' were exaggerated, despite not mentioning this in our conversation two weeks earlier. Then, another individual, Don, who identified himself as a managing partner, contacted me. He repeatedly claimed ignorance of my case and said he couldn't assist me. Yet, he seemed aware of a check being discussed with an adjuster. It's baffling how a managing partner could be so uninformed about the cases in their own firm. They mishandled our cases, which remain unresolved, and after I informed them of my intent to file complaints against them with the State, they withdrew their services. Nonetheless, they placed liens on both cases, expecting payment if we receive any settlements elsewhere, despite not having contributed any meaningful work. I strongly advise against hiring this firm. Save your time, money, and avoid unnecessary stress.
Ryan and Kayla did a terrible job for me. At first, Ryan was defending me, but it felt as though he was collaborating with the opposing counsel. He just kept negotiating, running up a bill, and ultimately did not accomplish anything, prompting me to terminate his services. Subsequently, I hired Kayla from the same firm. However, Kayla seemed to be out of her depth, repeatedly requesting documents I had already provided to the office, which resulted in me being charged twice for the same paperwork. Eventually, we proceeded to mediation where Kayla billed me for her time, including an additional charge for waiting for the mediator who was on time. This law firm is dreadful; they simply continue to inflate the bill without delivering satisfactory results.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Costs went up to almost $7,000 for representing my brother in court due to a motion from ex-wife to adjust parenting time. The Hearing was over video call, the attorney turned off her camera. The ex-wife took over the whole hearing conversation flow. The Attorney I hired for my brother, couldn't even have a defence against a simple accusation of "night life" where my brother lives ( he lives in a family home with his/our brother, wife and 3 kids). The Attorney took one hour practicing questions that were never asked in court. She never took the time to ask my brother about what type of accusations could've been brought up in court, nor tried to learn more about the type of parent he is. At the end nothing was accomplished. Everything ended up just the way it was. The ex-wife's accusations still reflect on the court order. When my complaints were brought up to [insert name], manager of quality of service, I had no response from anyone. They completely ignored my complaint. Their fees are of Professionals, but their service is of beginners trying to become lawyers.
Get ready for aggressive collections with intimidating tactics and confrontational accounting department
Get ready for aggressive collections with intimidating tactics and confrontational accounting department. We received a call from the assertive Robinson & Henry accounting department from Colorado Springs which we thought was 1 day after we received our bill. Turns out we missed the first email and it was 9 days after we received our bill with an ongoing case. The message left on my phone was very confrontational about why we haven't paid yet. After I listened to the message I called my wife and found out Robinson & Henry had also called her and left the call saying " So we are on the same page" . I do not feel that 9 days after receiving the bill is late. Robinson & Henry was also unaware that the company had released our first attorney with no phone call to us, just an email, and we had to start over from scratch with a new attorney. This made the List of Demands that was supposed to be ready late from when it was supposed to be delivered. It didn't appear to matter to Robinson & Henry that we may need a minute to look over our bill to make sure everything was correct. Our second call from Robinson & Henry was 3 days after we received our next bill. He called from a blocked number and asked, " So, how do you want to pay. I'm pretty sure that 3 days is not late. Thanks Robinson & Henry. I hope that someone will return the favor and treat your family with the same intimidation tactics and confrontational methods that you used on my family.
My experience with Robinson & Henry is much like the rest of the people here
My experience with Robinson & Henry is much like the rest of the people here. I hired them because they offered a free consultation and seemed professional. Immediately there were miscommunications, office incompetence, and floundering leading to unnecessary work, work that was not requested, and double billed work! Right away they racked up a $6000 bill without disclosing their activities. When I responded to missed deadlines I just got more delays which totaled two months with no explanation other than to cite complexity. No communication was ever initiated by Robinson & Henry, no questions were asked about my case, no phone calls for clarification were made. When they finally delivered an Opinion Letter it did not answer the basic question I asked, do I have a case worth pursuing? Instead it was a lot of case history research without conclusion, but it did include work that was not requested or required as well as work that was previously billed! All of this was rubber stamped by the senior lawyer who also adds his time for proof-reading. They were cordial, said it was miscommunication, and agreed to a dispute resolution, but then the billing department floundered on the resolution for 7 weeks, citing every excuse you could think of including people on holiday, surgery, death in the family, and they are no longer employed here. The whole time they are calling me weekly threatening to drop my case if I dont pay the disputed amount. At the same time the lawyers are playing good cop to their bad cop to keep the billing party going! It was not until I sent them links to the ComplaintsBoard.com and the State Supreme Court that they paid attention. They resolved the billing dispute the next day, but decided that they couldnt represent me because I exposed their incompetence and threatened them with malpractice. They billed $7500 over 4 months for two Demand Letters then left when the response was crickets even though they said I had a strong case and it would probably settle out of court.
I am in disbelief that I have to give this firm anything, including this required 1 star
I am in disbelief that I have to give this firm anything, including this required 1 star. I had the unfortunate pleasure of being a client having had a terrible experience with them to date. I was represented by multiple attorneys, including Attorney A, Attorney B, and Attorney C. I wish I had more words to describe my experience; however, I will highlight some of the worst. I retained this firm to assist me in a partnership buyout. I was told this would be a quick and easy case around $10k, but it ended up costing me over $30k. I have had to dispute several charges that include but are not limited to excessive and double billing. At one point in time, I had to dispute a $79 Voicemail and a mediation over $5k that I was told by the attorneys was premature. Some of these things were addressed; however, they completely mishandled my case. For months, I have made them aware of a deadline that should have been met before mediation, which they chose to neglect. They never sent out any requests for production in the middle of discovery. They never included claims that would have put me in a better position, such as obvious things like 'the wage claim act." I have since hired another attorney to help me so my case won't be overcharged or handled improperly. At this point, it's damage control, and their negligence could cost me my case. They won't even return my lawyer's calls for him to find out what they intended to do moving forward. Ethically, this firm has dropped the ball. I have given them a chance after going 20 grand beyond what was discussed. Please do not be fooled like me and go off of their initial consultation. I sunk thousands of dollars into something I trusted them with and was only met with greed and incomplete work. If you didn't get anything from what I wrote here, please get this: DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM. They will take advantage of you if you allow them. I will be filing a complaint to the bar, and if anyone else has had this experience, please reach out. This has to be stopped.
Your experience is so similar to what my friend is going through right now. Can you tell me how long ago was this? He is also is over $25k,currently disputing invoice charges, one even related to meeting with his new attorney after he quit .turned out he was negotiating a job offer un expectantly -gave zero notice - so his lawyer quit on a Friday, was informed by an email on a Monday,( while still waiting for a reply to another email from him) was only able to meet with the office to discuss available options later that week week Friday, and….even though new lawyer and him spent hours try to summarize 7 months by taking the time to write up him the ‘cliff notes' of the case … the very first face to face with his attorney, they charged him ( despite having it in writing they would not charge for any meeting to bring him up to date, and… because there was a hearing in 2 days they discussed that as well- they are insisting on charging- because they discussed the hearing) because he said he already was ‘up to date’ . he told my friend he read over his file while eating lunch…but there was 'so much' to read.
He is in the exact same position as when first went to attorney, not one thing is resolved, a lot of stress, a lot of debt. How DID YOU to have the nerve to walk away? My friend is paying on borrowed money and credit cards. He will be in debt forever.he is now stressed over the invoices, their broken promises , their lack of empathy , and the realization they do not have his best interest at heart. Any suggestion?
DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM
DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM. I made the mistake of hiring Robinson & Henry to represent me in getting a parenting plan approved in the court system. Attorney John Doe, the attorney the firm chose to represent me ran up the fees to almost $5000.00 and very little was ever accomplished over a several week period. I had to terminate representation with John Doe due to the outrageous fees I was being charged vs. the amount of work being accomplished in the case. The final bill was $4657.00 and the only thing accomplished by this firm was they filed a petition in the court for a parenting plan. They didn't even have the respondent served. I was charged fees for emails asking for information they already had, John Doe simply talking about the case to other attorneys, reviewing an old case file that didn't have anything to do with the case, the list goes on and on. This is not a five star service firm, they're a firm that will run up the charges then threaten you concerning their faulty billing practices. On July 16 I received an email from Robinson & Henry's billing and finance department indication they had received a billing dispute from me and that they were reviewing the dispute and would get back to me on Monday July 18, they never did. I had already paid them $3057.00. In September I received an email from Robinson & Henry indicating I owed the firm an additional $1878.07. On September 30 I sent Robinson & Henry an email that outlined some of the frivolous charges I accrued. I reminded them that I had already paid over $3000.00 and all the firm did was file a petition in court. In response to my email to them he responded with the following threatening email; Since no payment has been made on your account since June, we need to resolve this immediately. Per your signed agreement, past due balances incur late fees (2% compounded monthly, 24% annum). We would be willing to waive these fees as long as you settle your balance in full or agree to a monthly plan of $200.00 until your balance is paid in full. However, failure to address your balance in a timely manner may result in your account being sent to collections. This firm took advantage of me. Don't let this happen to you.
I unfortunately agree with the negative reviews of Robinson & Henry as well
I unfortunately agree with the negative reviews of Robinson & Henry as well. I called this law firm because I felt was raked over the coals. I was assured by their representative Claire; they would indeed help me. I told her I could not afford exorbitant fees as I had spent most money on items for my home and the contractor fees. I was informed the fees would be nominal, no more than $5K and my case was strong and would be completed quickly. I thought this was great, so I referred a friend going through the same type of issues to them. We both began the process at the same time. There was an initial retainer of $1750 (my friends was less). I was billed approximately $1200 for a premise visit to my home verifying information I relayed to R & H of jobs not completed or installed incorrectly by the contractor. I as well was told and convinced the demand letter was the first step and a mandatory necessity. The bills continued to come in and I had no choice but to pay. The finance department advised me they could stop working on the case and close it. I was too far in to stop, over $5000. There was no follow through with this company. There was always an excuse. No permits were pulled, plumbing, tile and flooring were installed incorrectly by the contractor. There are leaks, cracked tiled, shower doors were installed badly therefore the showers cannot be used and the paint job is bad. Unfortunately, this is just a small description of what was done incorrectly and badly to my home. I have videos of when then remodel began and what I have been left with. It's heart wrenching and unimaginable. Claire is now not with the firm but told me she could continue with my case. I have not heard from her in some time. I hired this firm for help and assistance. This remodel is for a senior soon moving in. I have no money, remodel, lawyer or assistance with this case. How is it not against the law or their ethical codes to treat clients this way? Don't lawyers have rules and regulations to follow? I was not advised a 20-minute call could be billed at over $300. The bills continued to come without results. Claire told me she was close, but she then disappeared. R&H should immediately tell potential clients if they do not have money to spare this is not the firm for you. Now what should I do? I was not advised of the contractor's lawyer. This is not a firm I would recommend to others. This is an incredible stressful ordeal with no resolutions. I wish I'd seen these reviews before. A company whose reviews are this bad should work hard to make it right.

Robinson & Henry got me great results when I needed to modify a protection order that I had against my ex-husband. They were caring and compassionate throughout the process. I would whole-heartedly recommend this firm to anyone who asks and I plan to use them for any legal need that may arise in the future! Thanks, Robinson & Henry, for making a terrible situation a little easier to deal with! I appreciate you!

I needed help, and still need unfortunately, with a home improvement dispute. Was billed for the initial phone call with agent. Billed for emails that were stored in a file (never read). Billed for my attorney consulting the lead attorney. Billed for complaining about the lack of response. Billed 4 hours for second attorney on case to research file that basically has nothing in it. Forced to file written dispute of billing. Two months later, my case is trashed. Robinson and Henry credits me the full $6,500. Plus I was billed. Then they're like hey we gave you your money back aren't we great. Serious stress none of my issues resolved.

Ryan Johnson and Kayla Thompson did a terrible job for me, at first Ryan was defending me but it was like he was working with the opposing counsel and just kept negotiating and running up a bill and did not accomplish a thing, so I fired Ryan. And hired Kayla Thompson they work for the same firm, but Kayla really did not know what she was doing, she kept asking for documents that I had already sent to the office, and I was getting charged twice for the documents. And in the long run we went to mediation and Kayla charged me for her time there and she charged me extra for waiting for the mediator to arrive and he was not late for the appointment. This law firm is terrible they just keep running up the bill and they don't do a good job.
Please be very careful with this firm
Please be very careful with this firm. Stephen Robinson tells you what you want to hear so you hire his firm. He assured me that my case would cost me 25k to 35k being the worst-case scenario going to trial, and fighting in court. After hiring the firm Mr. Robinson disappeared, and that is where my nightmare began. I went through 4 different attorneys. I came to realize later that every time they made those changes without my consent, they charged me ridiculous amounts of money for those new attorneys to read and learn about my case. How absurd is that? They charged me 9 thousand dollars to scan the physical evidence I provided them. My case was worth 150K, I gathered all the evidence, and all the documentation necessary for them to win this case. They didn't have to do much. A case worth $150K is costing me $140K. It went from 35K to $140K. Don Henry and Stephen Robinson put a lien on my judgement, and now they want all my money. The judge of this case couldn't rule the attorney's fees on my favor because he considered the amount was outrageous, so they didn't get me the attorneys fees. Please judge yourself. Would you hire this despicable firm? At first they make you feel they are on your side, and then they turn around, and want to suck your blood dry. After visiting different webpages, and reading all the Robinson and Henry reviews on multiple platforms and finding out they are known for doing this to their clients. They haven't provided the account statement or any reasonable explanation as to why they went from 35K to 140K that even the judge thought was way too much and ridiculous.
Unfortunately, I had to give them a star, but they are really a 0 star
Unfortunately, I had to give them a star, but they are really a 0 star. Just as other customers have stated they take your money and run. I hired them for my son's and my car accident case back in October and wished I had researched them before. I got assigned to Dale and her assistant Tia who do not respond. When they have you sign representation papers, they call you right away and seem nice. Then afterwards, don't return your phone calls or emails until they feel like responding. MONTHS passed with them not working on my son's case when both of us had been done treating at the same time. After complaining about Dale to the firm and threatening to disengage, James [Last Name] calls me and I voiced my complaints to him. He agreed they fell short of their "5 star" customer service expectations and surprisingly seems after that they started to work on my case, again not my son's case. James set up another phone call meeting with me set for 2 weeks out, and that was based on his schedule not mine at 8am. Well guess what, no phone call from James at 8am. He decided to call me at 2:45pm and act like he had set it up at 2pm. Then after complaining more to him and stating I was not going to pay them their 33 1/3% fee because nothing was done to my case or my sons case, he said my "expectations" were exaggerated even though the previous conversation 2 weeks prior he did not mention that at all. Then another guy called me who was a managing partner, Don [Last Name], who kept stating he knew nothing of my case and couldn't help me. Yet he seemed to know there was a check being discussed with an adjuster. What kind of managing partner knows nothing of the cases coming in or out of their firm?! They sabotaged our cases which still have no resolution to and after informing them that I was making complaints against them to the State, they disengaged. However, they made liens on both of our cases in case we get anything with someone else for work they did not do. DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM! Save your time, money and mental anguish.

Hello, During our initial free video call with a representative of Robinson & Henry, we were told we could expect the initial charge for drafting a CDARA demand letter and receiving feedback from the General Contractors we were having an issue with to be around $750.00, requiring a retainer of $1000.00. We were informed the total of the retainer could increase to approximately $1700.00, but that was if the dispute continued beyond drafting a CDARA letter and not getting resolution. Despite this, our first invoice received on 05/14 was for $1.872.00 - $1000 taken from the retainer and an additional $872.00 paid by us. At this point, we'd only had a letter drafted and sent, no additional escalation had occurred. Noticing this discrepancy and questionable charges (including senior lawyer fees to drive to the Post Office and mail a letter, imposing charges for receiving evidence/documents via a Dropbox application they implemented after they'd already charged for receiving the same evidence/documents via email, charges for making corrections to their own errors in the CDARA letter), we immediately wrote a termination letter as required in our agreement, and I drove to their Colorado Springs office, handing the letter to E C, a member of Robinson & Henry, P.C. I also paid the additional $872.00 fee over the phone â€" expecting to just end services and cut losses. On June 1st, we received a second invoice from Robinson & Henry, P.C. for additional questionable charges imposed during the same period as the first invoice (including responding to the termination letter). We would have let the initial charges go to avoid hassle, but they seem to want to milk us by imposing additional questionable charges.
