Hello all,
Call me another victim of Stuart Spencer and Rodis Law Group! I first started talking with these guys back in December '08. There were many calls back and forth and Stuart Spencer really knew how to tell me what I wanted to hear. He sounded like one of the attorneys but I later learned he was the Top Sales Manager there with some sort of 'Director' title.

Actually the 1st guy I talked to was Shawne Malone and he sounded like a typical salesman. Shawne didn't know anything but how to ask for my credit card number. When it became obvious that I wasn't going to do anything with Shawne, Stuart Spencer got on the phone and was that guy ever slick! He conned me out of $3, 500! I felt like their number one client until after I paid. Then I couldn't get a call back from Stuart no matter how many times I tried.

In the beginning, these guys even gave me their cell numbers and told me I could call them for help anytime. Actually, I think I will call them now and let them know what I think of their con game. If you too have been ripped off, let them know what you think.
Shawne's phone number is [protected]
and Stuart Spencer's phone number is [protected].

The sad part is that now since Rodis is closed down, I learned both Stuart and Shawne just up and moved their con game down the street. They're both continuing to rip people off at some place in Santa Ana called "Traut Law Group" and they even have phony credentials up on the www.trautlawgroup.com web site.

ComplaintsBoard, I really hope you're also investigating Traut Firm, at www.trautfirm.com and Traut Law Group, at www.trautlawgroup.com

On Traut Firm, these 2 attorneys have zero real estate or mortgage experience going back 20 years. Real Estate and Mortgages aren't even mentioned along with the half a dozen areas they claim as their specialty. Then suddenly on Traut Law Group, same exact address and people, they miraculously claim to be experienced loan modification attorneys. Looks like just 2 more guys jumping on the band wagon and hiring con men to do their dirty work!

Anybody putting together a class action lawsuit, please contact me and count me in! My email address is: [protected]@yahoo.com

Hello,
It's very easy to verify it's true. Just go to the TrautFirm.com and then check out TrautLawGroup.com web sites I included in my letter.

These 2 Traut guys with "impeccable reputations" have apparently zero experience with loan modification matters and yet have suddenly morphed into loan mod experts with Stuart Spencer's help. Amazing how a non-attorney like Stuart from Rodis Law Group, which is being sued, been taken over by FTC receivers and is under a Preliminary Injunction from the FTC, can suddenly start working with the Traut attorneys and they all become loan mod experts.

If I were them, I would be very nervous as with castoffs from Rodis there, it’s only a brief matter of time before the FTC starts knocking on their door.

My understanding is that even the people at Rodis knew these 2 guys, Shawne Malone and Stuart Spencer were 2 of the worst of the bad apples at Rodis.

When I couldn't get through to Stuart when he was with Rodis Law Group (after I paid!), about a month later I finally got through to "Jessica" my case manager, and I complained I was already suspicious of what Stuart had been promising me, she told me Stuart was a joke and would say anything to anybody. Apparently his lies were so outrageous that he was forced out or fired.

In talking to my case manager Jessica back in late February, she told me Stuart was the Director of Sales at Rodis, with a lot of sales managers under him and he also did all the sales training. According to her, the office rumor was that he was asked to leave or be fired as some of the case files, including mine, had Stuart's notes that were completely different than what he had actually said to me. For example, Stuart told me he personally would oversee my file and while he essentially guaranteed I would receive a 3% or lower new interest rate, without actually saying the word "guarantee" (I heard some BS about the State Bar not allowing attorneys to say Guarantee), he essentially promised it saying every file HE oversaw resulted in a 3% or lower new rate. However, according to Jessica, in the notes Stuart said something like "advised client new rate of 5-6% is possible. My current rate is 6.25% so if that were true, why would I pay $3, 500 for such a small difference? The reason I paid is because Stuart promised to cut my rate in half or more! And by his saying he would personally oversee my file, for a long time I actually thought he was one of the attorneys.

I have in my notes I was told by Jessica that Stuart was actually titled the "Director of Client Services", which I was told was the same thing as the very top Manger in the Sales department. Now Stuart and his buddy Shawne have just gone down the street and are running the same loan mod operation at Traut Law Group. Look it up at www.TrautLawGroup.com and see for yourself.

I see from the web site there that Stuart has again titled himself as the Director of Client Services, so he must be the top sales manager there also.

I am filing complaints against Stuart Spencer, Shawne Malone, Ron Rodis/Rodis Law Group and Traut Law Group, with both the CA State Bar, State of CA AG's office, and the FTC.

I'm here in FL getting ready for work when I happen to check my email and then see all this nonsense.

Look buddy, I don't know who you are and I don't know who all these other people are. What I do know is that I talked with first Shawn and then multiple times with Stuart Spencer at Rodis Law Group and these 2 guys are a couple of snakes. I have no doubt but what you're his friend or maybe you're Stuart yourself, or maybe you're a victim of this con man like myself?

First, I call BS on you and your claim that you've done a criminal background check on Stuart. You must really be a ### if you think anybody is going to believe that. Or, and if this is the case, I feel sorry for you, he has duped you just like he duped me.

Second, thank you for telling me he is registered with your state real estate department. So I looked him up just now and once again, you're full of it and you haven't checked anything. Or, again, he has fooled you too. Because his license expired earlier this year and he had only been licenced since the early '90's, not the 30 years you claim... so either you're talking out your backside or Stuart has been telling you a bunch of tall tales just like he told me.

Third, the consensus was just the opposite of what you claim because according to Jessica, my case manager, in the couple of times I could ever talk to her, before I could never talk to her either, Stuart was fired or forced out for incompetence and lying to clients, and everybody knew it.

Fourth, in running a quick google check on that snake in the grass Stuart, it turns out he was apparently lying to his tax clients with the sister firm to Rodis, Tax Relief ASAP. In checking up on him, it looks to me like Stuart first tried to pass himself off as some sort of Tax expert and got exposed and then tried to sell his snake oil to Rodis' loan mod clients and got exposed there too!

So you can try to weasel out of it any way you want but the truth of the matter is Rodis had these people like Shawne and Stuart on staff, the company is now in big FTC trouble, these people were a part of all that trouble, I believe the FTC is saying they committed FRAUD, and now these same people are at another law firm doing the exact same thing!

I just did a quick google check on Stuart Spencer and here's that con man in action:

From a google search:

Who/What's bothering you? - Axelist
Was sold a loan mod. program by lawyer Stuart Spencer from Rodis Law Grp. Real lawyer S. Spencer had no clue he was impersonated by a crook. ...
www.axelist.com/blog/post/70 - Cached - Similar

And From:

http://www.telonu.com/reviews/tax-relief-asap?nt=3906&type=1&page=1
Tax Relief ASAP is a Rip-off. RUN.
I've paid them $2500. They took an eternity processing my file. Stuart Spencer (the salesman it would appear) blew complete smoke in the initial conversations I had with him when he was trying to get me to sign up. I finally decided to when he said I'd get a 100% refund if I wasn't happy because they'd rather refund me than risk having an unsatisfied customer with the BBB. Once I gave my $ I was NEVER able to reach him again.

These postings about Stuart have been up for some time, way before I ever got involved.

If this Traut Law Group is as reputable as some say, I have no idea, then they shouldn't lay down with the dogs like Shawn and Stuart because they'll get fleas. And again, if they are at all reputable, they should have no problem booting these fraud committing sales people from their company.

The Traut Law Group or Traut Firm, whichever it is, should probably call the real CA attorney Stuart Spencer and find out how long this fake Stuart Spencer has been impersonating him! I believe that is absolutely a crime and I'm sure the real lawyer Stuart Spencer would have a few choice words for the fake lawyer Stuart Spencer and his employers.

I just did a quick check of the CA Bar web site and the real lawyer Stuart Spencer is easy to find. Call him up and see for yourself:

Stuart B Spencer - #252523
Current Status: Active
This member is active and may practice law in California.
Address Callister & Hendricks
544 W 20th St
Merced, CA [protected]
Phone Number [protected]

I would think he will be very Unhappy to hear Stuart is back with another law firm doing the exact same thing all over again! I think the FTC, the CA state Bar and the CA state attorney general are going to be very interested in the complaint I file with them.

Here in FL we had the same problem with these types of shysters but we passed a law prohibiting any advance fee payment, even with law firms, until after all loan mod services are satisfactorily completed. You guys in CA need the same thing to protect you from people like Shawn and Stuart.

You should check your facts about a law firm before spouting off false information. The Traut brothers are excellent attorneys with impeccable reputations. You need to give specifics about anyone who you claim was ripped off by them. I suspect you cannot.

Obviously this complaint was posted by Wayne Farris and Bryan D'Antonio. I checked with the California Department of Real Estate and Stuart has never had even one complaint filed against him in 30 years. Someone with such a "con man" nature, would certainly have had his real estate license revoked by now or at least had a couple of complaints filed against him, wouldn't ya think? I also checked his arrest record, and other than a J walking ticket, he has never been arrested for anything. Bryan has already spent time in prison for fraud and Wayne can't show his face in public. Who would you believe? I also understand that Stuart left Rodis in Januray when he discovered the unethical business practices of Wayne and Bryan. The day after he left Bryan and Wayne called and begged him to stay. Stuart rejected their pleas and instead contacted federal authorities to voice his concerns. Shortly after Stuart left, a massive exodus began with no fewer than 40 people resigning from Rodis after Stuart left. The consensus was that " Stuart was the only honest person here". Stuart only worked for Rodis Law Group for 2 months. It took him 60 days to figure it out, but he left as soon as he did. Wayne and Bryan are now out to trash Stuart's reputation because they believe Stuart (as one of the good guys) helped the FTC and FBI with their invetsigations. Although Stuart has declined to participate in the prosecutions of Bryan and Wayne, he probably will reconsider his decision to do so. I would love for one non-Rodis client to post a complaint about Stuart and include your name, phone number and e-mail address. Just so the readers can verify the authenticity of the posting. Just one! All of Stuart's clients love him and respect him. Stuart is an honest, hard working professional who cares more about his clients than he does about himself. Stuart would be happy to provide a list of his satisfied clients to anyone who asks. But please be prepared, the list will include more than 1000 names. Bryan and Wayne are criminals. When Stuart left Rodis there was no one working there by the name of Jessica. Bryan and Wayne, if you spent this much time figuring out how to actually help people instead of stealing their money, maybe you wouldn't be sitting at home, barred by the FTC from doing business and writing fake postings on some blog.

I call BS. Stuart helped me buy my first home in 1981. He worked for a real estate company by the name of Robert T. Sacks and Associates. He was the most honest and hard working young man we ever met. He later went on to assist all my children and my wife and I to purchase and finance several more homes. He went on to work for Great Western Bank where they made him deactivate his license. When he left the bank he then re-activated his license in 1992. which he holds active today. By the way you fraud, you never mentioned any compalints? So I wil ask you the same question that the other person asked you; don't ya think if Stuart was such a scam artist he would have had at least one complaint filed against him? You are a fraud and you know it. By the way, I would venture to guess that anyone who worked for Bryan D'Antonio and Wayne Farris have a few clients that don't like them. After all Bryan and Wayne ran a scam shop from what I can read. So stop lying and pull your head out of your ars. You're only in the city of Orange. Why don't you ask to meet Stuart to discuss your concerns in person. He is a nice guy he will hear you out. Unless you are just lying you will post back and arrange a face to face meeting with him. If he refuses your invitation then maybe you speak the truth. If you don't extend the invitation then you are a liar flat out. Have a nice day Bryan and Wayne.

Just wanted everyone to know that my family loves Stuart like he is part of our family. He helped almost everyone in our family purchase our homes. He also helped finance most of those homes. My son recently came back from Iraq severely injured. His home was in foreclosure and he was facing a bank auction in a week. We contacted Stuart and he helped us save my son's home. We tried to pay him but he refused any money. Stuart keep your chin up. People like the fraudster writing about you will always exisit. He is jealous of the wonderful work you do for families like ours. As we mention each year in the christmas cards we send you, we truely consider you our gift from God.

How funny! I was ripped off by Stuart Spencer back when he was running a mortgage scam and it looks like the old dog is just moving on to new ground.

I see from the posts above he was involved in a Tax scam, and now is back to his first love, running a mortgage scam.

You folks directly above are obviously jokesters conned or paid by Stuart into saying something nice about him. What a laugh! Everybody associated with Stuart over the years knows he loves money and he will scam his mother if it means another dime to him.

Anybody associated with this guy is just asking for problems.

Maybe the Fact that he's an alcoholic has something to do with it, who knows.

Read on and remember that if you're doing business with Stuart, you'll get burned!

STUART F. SPENCER

SR. VICE PRESIDENT

HOMEFRONT MORTGAGE INC.

The whole time everybody was feeling the pressure of a diminishing market, Stuart Spencer and Homefront kept lying and insisting that they were Growing.

And let me clarify something about the "due to buybacks we are closing our doors" etc...
Homefront did not have line of credit to purchase loans. Just more smoke and mirrors from Stuart to excuse them from the fact that they had more overhead than processing money coming in. Its a real simple lie and explanantion as to why they went under.

In the end, the last check I got paid on, they took out more fees than they were supposed to claiming that files from a year ago were not in compliance. These are the same files that went thru their compliance test BEFORE we got paid.

They had a strict rule that you would not be paid unless your file was in compliane. I tried to have them explain it, and Stuart Spencer, Angelica Akins, and Thomas Fry all danced around it.

They were hurting on cash, and looked for every reason to keep mine. When they didn't have enough cash legitimately, they cheated others to take what wasn't theirs. It was plain as day, these people were crooks!

This is the last email I received:

ATTENTION ALL HOMEFRONT LOAN AGENTS

HOMEFRONT MORTGAGE INC. IS RPOUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A NEW BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH “FIXED RATE FUNDING”.

FIXED RATE FUNDING IS PREPARED TO OFFER ALL HOMEFRONT MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICERS THE EXACT SAME CONTRACT THEY HAVE IN PLACE WITH HOMEFRONT.

THE COMMISSION MENU THAT FIXED RATE OFFERS HAS ADDITIONAL COMMISSION PLAN OPTIONS. IN ADDITION, FIXED RATE FUNDING HAS A D.O.C. LICENSE, SO A DRE SALES LICENSE IS NOT REQUIRED.

THEY ALSO ARE LICENSED IN MULTIPAL STATES AND THEY ARE FHA APPROVED. MOST OF THE OWNERS AND LONG TIME LOAN AGENTS FROM HOMEFRONT WILL BE JOINING FIXED RATE FUNDING, SO COME JOIN US AND START THE NEW YEAR OFF WITH A BANG!

These guys are snakes. Stay away if you ask me. If you don't, you'll get burned, don't say you were not warned.

Just in case anybody is still naive enough to believe what Stuart's friends have written, read on you poor people and when you're done reading, remember that I warned you about doing business with Stuart Spencer the President of Homefront, and the other people running Homefront Mortgage:

Homefront Mortgage Inc. - Net Branch Operation

2007-12-21
On December 11, 2007, Homefront V.P. Thomas Fry put out an email stating "...Homefront Mortgage Inc. must discontinue all business operations on December 31st 2007."

In fact, he went as far as to say if you couldn't get your loan funded by that date, "...we suggest you cancel those loans and open them with a new broker."

From a tip:

"This company was set up as a "membership" broker/banker net branch operation, they were charging the loan officers(auto pay credit cards ) a flat monthly fee of $399-799 depending on volume.

At the peak they had over 250 "members" were licensed in 8 states, and funding aprox 75 mill (cannot confirm from Hmda due to lack of reporting/compliance."

We're sure the primary reasons for the shutdown are in the first sentence of Mr. Fry's letter:

"Due to the tremendous number of buy back requests on loans that our loan agent staff funded, and due to the overwhelming number of lawsuits as a result of loans that our loan agent staff funded, and due to the massive increase in our errors and omissions insurance coverage as a result of these issues, Homefront Mortgage Inc. must discontinue all business operations on December 31st 2007. "

This had to be one of the more disturbing "shutdown" letters we've ever seen!

We made a phone call and spoke to Stuart Spencer, President.

Needless to say, he felt the email was going to be kept a secret, and was not very pleased it was in our hands.

In an about-face, he stated "we haven't decided what to do yet."

Stuart Spencer then proceeded with "Keep your f***king nose out of our business, " carefully spelling out the 'F' word, and ended the phonecall with "...and f***k you too."

We checked the D.R.E. website on Dec. 12, and this firm listed 65 licensed salespeople. We checked three days later, that number was down to 57.

One salesperson who contacted us was shopping around to place a file for a purchase that Homefront wouldn't do, even though it was a fully approved file! Numerous web sites for the company are not operating.

We've received complaints about overcharging 'member' fees on Credit Cards. We've heard rumors of a Bankruptcy.

Everybody knows these guys and their company are now long gone however, like snakes in the grass, Stuart Spencer and the rest from Homefront keep wiggling around and popping up to run their scam wherever they can! Beware and when you see the name of any of these people... RUN!

I just spoke with Stuart regarding the entire issue of who did what to whom and when. I believe he in fact called me back and explained what was and has occurred. I have thus far managed to hold on to my mothers home for her and have moved my family in to assist. Understand this statement...post it where you will...put it on a note under your pillow. To all associated with Rodis...I will find out who knew what...the time line of there involvement and knowledge and collectively and individually their lives are about to change...You have ###ed with the wrong redneck

It looks like from everything I'm reading the same people who ripped us off at Rodis are now doing the same thing at another law firm!

What can be done to stop these people like Stuart from ripping people off at one company and then going down the street to another company and doing the same thing all over again?

I understand Stuart Spencer was the Sales Manager at Rodis during the time we were ripped off and now I see he is a Director at some new law firm.

Trying to find out what's going on with our case and the people I know were involved, here's more shocking news!

http://badbizfinder.wordpress.com/?s=Stuart+Spencer

Does anybody have any information on a law suit or something that can be done to stop these people? Mr. Retribution, it sounds like you've talked with Stuart and as he was the Sales Manager at Rodis, I hope you gave him a piece of your mind as we all know what those Sales people at Rodis did! And according to the colorado attorney general, Stuart seems to be involved in some shenanagans at his new company too!

I was taken for $5000.00 from Rodis Law, I called many times and emailed them asking when there was going to be action on my modification. Then I recieved a letter that they are now in receivership and I am to contact my mortgage company to work out my own modification. You are right about Stuart Spencer, who got on the phone to kick me over the edge to have them tak care of the modification. Boy I was so wrong to think I could get legal and truthful help, and also no respnse from them when I asked for a refund because of no service.

ALL IS TRUE .. I was once a sucker who paid these scums $3500 for a loan modification back in Dec 08. I kept on calling and calling and what do I get a " Dead End ". They keep on passing my file off to Tom, DICK and Harry. I finally got smart and told one of the guys that I was speaking with (Matt Milakovich) after 6mos of them doing nothing that I was going to take them to court. I also recorded some of the conversations at the time about them refunding me back if they can't do the modification. So they finally refunded me back $3250 and they kept $250 for some bullsht retaining fee. What a shame!

Hello,

I have done a lot of research on the Traut Law Group. Eric Traut's credentials are perfect. Do you honestly think someone who is the President of the Trial Association would do something shady and get dis-barred? Please?I have a personal friend that got a 30 year fixed at 3%, and saved his house from foreslosure. I have zero complaints against the Traut Law Group.

I got my loan modified with USLoanAssistance. I had originally signed with Rodis and got very suspicious of them. I stopped the check.
Googling Rodis pulls up many negatives and scamming complaints...
They stopped advertising on Sirius but so has USLoanA, so who knows...Frankly I am not sure who to trust on anything.

He made us lots of money in real estate and never lied once to us or any of the 30 or so referrals we sent him. Keep up the good work Stuart and remember, the haters always go after the good people because they are jealous. I notice no one who posted antything negative about you left their full name and phone number. That means something.

If this is the same Stuart Spencer that worked at Robert T. Sacks and Associates, he is a decent and honorable man. He sold me my first home in 1980 and two more after that. He helped my daughter buy and sell a home and did not charge her a dime. I know he does a lot of charity work for children without parents and last I checked he never had even a single complaint filed against him with the DRE in 30 years, Great guy, Great real estate advisor and very trustworthy.

I met this man you mention Stuart Spencer in a restaurant/bar in Santa Ana about a year ago. If this is the same attorney, but he didn't seem polished like an attorney, rather sloppy and overly expressive, talked a lot of BS, said he had a law with a firm called John Jollo later I found it spelled as Dzailo Law, I remember him well, My wife kidding about him looking like a fat Jay Leno...He bragged that the young waitress was his mistress. When I returned from the restroom my wife said he made a pass at her, not surprised, my wife is beautiful, I was not taken by this man as he appeared to be uneducated, a "poser" and from what I can tell within only knowing him for 45 minutes an insecure lonely drunk. The bartender was embarrassed by this mans actions, and the Manager of the Restaurant through him out.
