Employee beware ! If you work in the office you will be treated like crap. If you work in the field you will be treated like crap, and work unsafe. Rogers does not give a crap about its employees only cares about making money! If you do not mind being cursed at and treated like crap then this is the place for you. Like working under stressful conditions this is the place for you.

It will be fun to sit back and watch this company fall. Scott is putting the N.E. in a hole by pushing out so many guys. Sure they will rehire, but who? Some 20 year old who cannot do the job. None of the stores are going to put up with that. Just remember what goes around comes around, and it comes back and bits you in the [censor].

Nice post above, again a Rogers employee who doesnt even know that when referring to I it needs to be capitilized. Granted the company has changed and all tech's know it changes but the problem exists that unfortuntely it hasn't change for the good but only for the bad. Please you sat behind the wheel for a short 6 months and still know nothing. Linn is a very smart man and we all enjoyed working for him but we really dont like working for you. Rest assured if Linn was still in charge you wouldn't be in the position you are, he only placed qualified people in the proper positions. Perhaps the tech's wouldn't be complaining if they hadn't lost so much, like 401k, raises, and most of all RESPECT. I think we all agree and understand that Linn has made his children owners and are fine with that like you said it's his perogitive. The fact remains there not qualified but even that's okay.

NMR, I will leave my Identity, This person is speaking the truth. I had almost five years with the company. Left my wife on wedding anniversaries, my kids on birthdays missed a family funeral. I worked every 4th of July, sure I voiced my thoughts. The service manger of the North East Scott Lucas, has no real electrical knowledge, no real dispatching knowledge. I have it on a recording like other employees due, Scott admitting he can not perform his job. Give me permission Scott I will release it.

Could not agree more. They do not know there [censor] from there elbow. They care nothing about the employee only the bottom line. The dispatcher must give good BJ to be able to keep her job, clueless [censor]. She couldn't find her way out of a paper bag. Not to mention she is butt ugly. Scott is nothing but a new [censor] in the wrong job. Get a clue. Trust me guys the office is no better.

Don't get me started on Scott. I know apprentices with more knowledge! I don't understand how he was ever an electrician. I see the northeast region taking a nose dive due to management. Several people have been fired or quit due to scott's so called new procedures. Which are all b.s.

Wow this is finally exploding the way it should have been, I'm glad to see we have more balls than the managment. Oh wait, managment, Ernesto P. president of service, oh wait again NO ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE working with tools or anything of the sort. Good call to place an idiot in charge of a electrical shop. For Gods sake Stevie Wonder can run it better. Guys of the East coast I would warn you but you seem to have discovered that Mr. Scott Lucas is also inept at his job. I suppose for Ernesto to pick him he had to pick somebody like himself who knows nothing about electrical work at all never mind what horrible people skills he has. We techs out here on the West coast are thrilled he is gone, the [censor] actually thought we were like a family out here, but then again he has no idea on how it is out in the field because his 6 short months in it tought him nothing. Maybe there's a reason he's on his third marriage and had to move across the country. Anyway at least the region out here in the west can now show a profit for the company it's just a shame the east is now going be dropping as fast as a lead anchor in the ocean. Just keep alert because Scott will stab you in the back quicker than the Son Of Sam could pull the trigger.

I glad to see there are some techs standing up for something. B.I.T., I can only guess you are office worker. I do not see you leaving your identity. Working from the Arizona, we really do not get to talk to any one from Georgia. It seems to us that there are separate companies, one tech relocated to the North East he tells me that y'all treated different and now Scott Lucas aka nut-less monkey and Hailey Tribble aka shallow end of the gene pool, are trying to keep it the same there. Our manager has at least some electrical training. Things are much better now nut less monkey is gone.

Your not missing anything in the Georgia office- none of them have electrical experience. Ernesto is just another suck monkey to feel the spot.

stop getting off the subject, that is a rogers ploy. Separate and concur. Rogers is a company that cares only for the three trust babies, Lynn created a great company, his daughter has created a greedy company. My numbers speak for me. I have been promised a raise for two years, nothing. BIT, if you are in favor of that, move to Asia they believe in the company first. I work hard, I generate a lot of profit, I am to stay in a room with another tech I do not know, stay in a hotel that is under ninety dollars(including tax, do you know what kind of hotels we get in cali for that) meanwhile the officers, project mangers and dispatches stay in double trees, private suites and all meals are paid for. is that fair, NO. The new generation has the reward with no risk. Lynn Rogers plan is gone up in dollars, the employees were thanked, now they are patronize. Obma get the county back on track so I can leave.

There have been some true things said here but as a older statesman of the company much has been forgotten. Yes Scott Lucas is a uneducated worm who wiggled his way through to where he is. Lets not forget that Linn himself wasn't a bad guy along with Daniel. For such a educated man Mr Rogers. (yes his neighberhood is in Alpharetta) left two children in charge. Usually you can say the apple didnt fall far from the tree but in this case the apple rotted on top of the tree and it never fell. Just because your born into money doesnt mean you know how to handle it. Folks I have to see these people on a regular basis and yes there nice but really have no clue but I guess thats what happens when you live in the neighberhood. Lindsey in HR please what does HR stand for anyway? Havent Realized? Good luck to all.

No pay raises, no contribution to the 401k, company profits up keep the field techs down. Promises made to us broken. Lynn is gone Lindsey is in charge God help us all. I can not even get a straight answer about our health care. NUTLESS MONKEY (Scott Lucas) hope you do not need the health care now that you are in New Jersey, who is going to pay for the bills that our great 115 a week out of my check does not cover. does anyone in rogers have this problem besides me. I can win 500 for safety tech or the tech of the month 200. Thanks Evita

Let me start with, all the people who do not work for this company should find a chat room to better spend there time. For the rest that have or still do please feel free to vent, because we all know venting to the higher ups gets you nowhere. the problem is the people that sit in the offices forget that if it wasn't for the field there would be no money coming in. We keep this company going. None of your accounts would pay for you to sit on your [censor] in the office. I feel sorry for the new hires, they the no clue what they are getting into. How the place will tare your family apart. How many games your sons will play without you, how many family parties you will miss, because rogers just does not care. How many have you been hurt on the job? What did this company do for your family? Your expected to drive for hours to a job then be able to work safely? Not to mention get it done and move on to the next. If you work for a good company, they take care of you and your family. Not this place. Your just a number and you mean nothing, just don't cost them any money and you should be find. Not to mention don't ever ask for a raise, because like everything else you'll never get it. By the way how many of you got a Christmas bonus? Well everyone in the office got $1, 000. make you sick doesn't it. Talk about a slap in the face. Here you go buddy bust your [censor] all year, forget the time with your family, and by the way Happy F***ing Christmas. Good luck all. Keep looking for something better.

Scott Lucas, the 4th is a paid holiday. Not a work day, Rogers does not pay me, I earn the money That i get paid. Now you think we should sit around and wait for a phone call, you are nuts. Look at the labor laws, you have to pay me for that. Thank God you are in the N.E.. You put your faith in a tech that works 60 hrs a week has the most recalls, you idiot. Who is dumber a bag of hammers or you. Please never come back this way to work. I hope your family stays healthy for ever. I guess you are the only one allowed to get time off. How many days have you taken off, answering your phone from home does not count as work

After coming across these posts I would agree whole heartly with all thats been said. Let me sum this up, George Thorougood wrote a song entitled "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" as most know the lyrics begin like this "The devil went down to Georgia he was looking for a soul to steal he was in a bind because he was way behind and willing to make a deal". Apparently we realize he went to Alpharetta Ga. and met with the Rogers. It has been clear to all Rogers employees that the bind they were in had to do with only a 20% profit margin. Well the deal Rogers made was to treat there techs terribly be any means nescessary to improve that profit margin. For example, freeze payraise's, cut down hotel stays, always be available even when your legally off, oh the list goes on and on but you all seem to know it. One last thing, the other deal they made was to give his children, Lindsey and Chris's soul to the devil and become heartless to there employees and only honor themselves. Guys dont think for a moment it's only in the northeast it is a nationwide situation that will most likely not change.

After coming across this board I must say I agree with all of you. George Thourougood wrote a song titled "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" as we all realized he must have went to 2050 Marconi Dr. in Alpharetta. The lyrics begin like this, "The devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal, he was in a bind because he was way behind and willing to make a deal". After he met with all Rogers family members he specifically chose two of them, Lindsey first then Chris (nutless monkey that he is, whoever wrote that hit the nail on the head). The bind these two must have been in is that the 25% profit margin was not enough when there multi million dollar trust funds were not gaining the interest that was expected. How do they fix that? Like the devil would like, become greedier. First and foremost hire carpenters, hotel workers, etc at a much lower rate to replace as many well trained and dedicated techs as possible. Second, do not give pay raises to all employees and defintely dont give a bonuses to field workers. Third, watch all vehicles and if your stuck in traffic and your truck didnt move, deduct that time from them. I understand the office motto concerning the guys in the field is this "Expect more and pay them less" oh and Scott will do whatever they want because his sould is sole. Good luck, I'm glad I left this company.

SERVICE TECH...thats what my title with Roger's is. Which would mean...to perform service, as in troubleshoot or repair. However, now im more like an overnight reset electrician. Seems like all we do now is reset work. What happened to the good old days. When I was hired, I was told we would work an few overnight a year, and maybe have to travel and stay overnight a handful of times. Which was true for a while. Because we still had the Fastrac divison, and they handled all the resets. For some reason, some suit had a brilliamt idea to disolve the Fastrac and make service techs do all the reset work now. So they expect us to run service calls during the day, and then go do a reset that same night. So...due to management changes...im currently looking for a new job, as soon as I find one, im taking my truck and leaving it at the airport...no call, no email...just gonna go.

When i found this post i thought it was funny. It is good to have a place to vent with others who have something in common. As i read through the complaints i noticed there was not anyone happy with rogers. i kept thinking that if i was this unhappy i would leave. you are not under contract to stay here. you are working under an at will agreement that can be terminated by yourself at anytime. if you want to get some payback, have ten guys quit in one region at the same time. put your money where your mouth is.
the company is going through a transition and when something goes through a transition it changes. this company will never be the same company it was 5 years ago. it will not be the same company 5 years from now. i think that is why there is a saying "the good old days".
i have been here over five years and have seen these changes from the drivers seat of my truck just like you. i have missed memories that i will never get back. no different than soldiers going to war and shift workers at factories all over the world. you trade your time for money and sometimes it is not a fair trade.
Lin is a very smart man. he started this company with the intention of passing it on to his children if they wanted it. i would have done the same thing and i bet you would too. Chris and Lindsey are not Lin and do not have the experience that Lin has but if Lin has confidence in them and wants to turn the company over to Chris, it is his company and he can do that.
If Chris and Ernesto want to put "unqualified" people in charge they can. i am sure there are several service regions being ran by people that have never ran a service call. probably could not tell you the difference between a wing nut and a wire nut. most definitely not qualified to tell us how to do our job but they are in charge and we follow orders. like it or not, we are employees not owners.
i have sacrificed a lot here at Rogers but have stayed employed through the toughest economic times i have seen in my life. i will keep plugging away until i can't sacrifice anymore. if you can't sacrifice anymore, you should leave.
i would have made different choices than what have been made here but i am not in charge and have to live with their choices just like you. when i am fed up, i am gone. you should too, life is too short to be unahppy.

Charlie Daniels wrote and sing the Devil went down to Georgia. Like the old days toxic waste was dumped in NJ, now Rogers dumps the toxic waste in NJ, SCOTT LUCAS. Like Scott lucas' bulldog he think he is a pure breed, but its a cross breed. It took the former NE regional director almost a year before they new he was the wrong choice. Everyone kisses his [censor] because he terminated the big mouth from PA, they thought he caused all the trouble, like we do not have our own thoughts. Scott we thought Kevin was hard in the beginning, we grew to get along with him, there is no getting along with you. Though Kevin did not have much more experience then you, he is open to discussion. We will not give up OT pay on weekends, we will take our Holidays. We use this forum due to you Scott Lucas taking it out on us

Bover80 you obviously don't work enough if you have this much time on your hands. Maybe the reason you missed so many family moments is because in your free time you spend it sitting on a computer complaining. In reference to you cutting down Sparky123 --people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. First off, they taught this in 3rd grade English -their, there, and they're. Learn it and use it. Also, when putting a 's after tech that shows possession ( which there's no possession in that sentence) and Linn is Lin --his name is on all the paychecks you received. So according to your post above, you would be a welcome addition to the incompetent people they put in management at Rogers Electric. You need to remember Lin hired most of the managers and put most of these people in the positions they're in. These people then in turn hired who they thought were best suited to run certain positions. Hence, Lin's judgement has a trickle down effect. It is a business and business is cut-throat. Every company has its fault and there are plenty of other companies to work for. Unfortunately, it takes more to run a multi-million dollar company than just electrical experience and you should be grateful to still have a job after the worst economic times in the last 50years. You are one of those people that blame all your bad fortune on others. If you don't have something to complain about --- you'll find something. I agree with Sparky123---if you are this unhappy you need to find a new job. Roger's Electric can only take from you what you are willing to give. If you keep on bending over -- you have no one to blame but yourself.

First, I have never seen someone complain so much that they complained about a capital letter. I get the feeling if Bover80 won the lottery, he would complain about all the taxes instead of celebrating the fact he won.
Second, I have been an electrican for 15 years. I have been a service tech here at Rogers for 5 years. I drive 5000 miles a month and made $28k in overtime last year. Not sure where Bover80 is getting the fact I ran in a truck for 6 months. I can even tell you the three phase multiplier. Can you Bover80?
The last company I worked for charged $176/wk for family insurance. I drove my own car up to 90 minutes one way from my house and paid for my own gas. Here insurance is $84/wk for the family plan. I drive a company truck with company gas. I never have more than a 30 minute commute before I start getting paid. I receive points for gas and hotel purchases that provides my family with a vacation each year. I never buy power tools or $60 uni bits. I do not have to pay for the hotel and wait to be paid back. I get per diem for each night I stay out that pays for my daily meals and then some.
Like Katey01 said, no company is without fault. With as much business savvy as Bover80 claims to have, perhaps Bover80 should be running his own shop.
I do not know Scott Lucas and could not pass judgement on his ability to manage but I do know that this company does not tolerate failure for long. If Scott is destined to fail, he will. Be patient. If you can not wait, leave. If Bover80's attitude is reflected in his work ethic, he will not be tolerated long either. Rumor has it, they're cleaning house in the NE anyway. Beware of what you wish for.
I can whole heartedly tell you this, the grass is not greener on the other side. If you don't believe me, climb the fence and see for yourself.

I have read through all the post. Not being an employee of this company, I have to say I am grateful for that. I do believe in change and yes you need to change in order to grow. However change should be for the better. That does not seem to be the case here. Yes times are tough and anyone should be grateful for working, however that does not give an employer the right to treat their employees badly. I'm sure if times were better, you would not have many left. The problem with most companies is they get to big to fast. They think they are above all. That's when the bubble will burst. It called cutting off your nose despite your face. Good luck to those who are still working under the condition they are. May you find a better place to work. Look for those that appreciate what you bring to the company. Life is to short to work for selfish greedy people. This kind of company will not be around for long, trust me in my business I have seen companies like this fall fast. It all catches up to in the end. Keep the truth out, help those who will come after you think twice before saying yes to working at a dysfunctional company. This is the problem with companies being pasted down to children that are bought up to think the world revolves around them. It never works. Good luck to all, God Bless, and may you be blessed with better employment. Its out there just keep looking.

WOW, everone has way to much time on there hands to wright all these complaints. Yes its true that this company is always changing, so what. Sometimes change is good and sometimes its not. If there was no change then Lin would not have this company were it is today, nor the people behind him helping him change it as well. I have been with this company for over 5 years and I would say that this is one of the better place's that I have worked for. For all you guys that have been around the trade all know there are good and bad place's that we have all worked for. Also remember don't bite the hand that feeds you. if you are un-happy leave.

There are many posts here that are obvious who they were written by. Please keep in mind this is called a "Complaint Board" not a chat board. If you dont have a complaint dont post, very simple. Wait a moment there is a dispatcher that is defintley geographically challenged and cant read a map to save her life but that ties in directly with her supervisor, Scott Lucas who also cant read a print or wire a single pole switch. Anyway this is to all at 2050 Marconi Drive, Suite 200 Alpharetta GA 3005. You put if we dont like it leave, take your own advice if you dont like whats being said here get off the board.

It is me Shane, the guy you called a friend. I have been reading all the post after my first. I can not even remember my password from the first post. just a few things1) Ken Webb signed my checks, not Mr. Rogers 2) why would some one in the office care who is making these comments, do not call me again, you could not speak to me the day of or the proceeding days. Terminated with out cause, just make one up. 3) There are a lot of jobs out there for professional electricians, gee I am home every night, weekends and holidays. 4) I moved up in a company within a few weeks, not at the dead end position I was at. Less anyone think they will move up, look at the people that have. Nothing against the educated personnel, ie the pm from some place else, the VP of service or the new Pres. Techs people who have moved up are in the office, a friend or relative. There are two techs that can contest to that. Kevin was/is a good choice he has proven himself and as someone stated is open to discussion. 5) As far as, WOW, ( everyone) has way (to )much time on there hands to wright all these complaints. it is better to let it out then hold it in. 6) I just like reading the board it is fun to read what I told you guys others informed me of, or should I say the Jedi mind tricks I am able to perform on others. Except on AA. Finally, Scott Lucas, you had to call the police on a guy you terminated. Why? Did you feel you performed a improper act, you treat the techs like children, so they will be that way. The guys I have known in this company are gentlemen, not misleading like you. Check, if you acknowledge a email, you are liable for that safety message contained. I hope know one gets hurt, if they do due to your typical, this so and so is costing the company money or we needed t get these work orders done after working 14hrs, 70 to 80 hrs a week, those techs know who they are, will go after you not Rogers.
DONE for awhile, this took too much of my time. If you want send me a email so I know it is OK to call you

Look here a company that is unsafe is usually unfair also. This place is no exception, not a single person has yet to be trained on a single piece of equipment. There are safety meetings going on and I would bet still not a single person comes out trained. Maybe Osha needs to know. There are books out there called the "Dummie" books and I bet this company surely knows of them. The safety manuel is called "Safety For Dummies" (fitting isn't it?). Let me also state that there is not a technician or a lighting guy that is following there safety procedures. I guess if you actually took action on guys violating safety policies there would be nobody in the field working anymore. When you hire untrained people the result will be accidents, a small example: 1)Lets run a bucket truck under a bridge that's to

to low and cause 30k worth of damage, 2)Lets put ethanol in a diesel tank, etc. This person still works for the company and is a highly cherised employee. Does that make sense to anybody out there? Got to go now, work safely.

How Management Demotivates
by David Sirota, Louis A. Mischkind, and Michael Irwin Meltzer

There are several ways that management unwittingly demotivates employees and diminishes, if not outright destroys, their enthusiasm.

Many companies treat employees as disposable. At the first sign of business difficulty, employees—who are usually routinely referred to as "our greatest asset"—become expendable.

Employees generally receive inadequate recognition and reward: About half of the workers in our surveys report receiving little or no credit, and almost two-thirds say management is much more likely to criticize them for poor performance than praise them for good work.

Management inadvertently makes it difficult for employees to do their jobs. Excessive levels of required approvals, endless paperwork, " insufficient training", failure to communicate, infrequent delegation of authority, and a lack of a credible vision contribute to employees' frustration. Sound like a company you know?

You know I stated previously that I been here 5 years and travel 5k miles per month. After this so called "safety meeting" I wont be making my sixth year and wont be driving a single mile for this company in a month. I generally dont complain much but the Ramada Limited they had us stay in was like a no tell motel, mold in the rooms, paint peeling off the ceiling, and just plain filthy. No member of managment would have stayed but this confirmed they treat us like the bottom of the barrell just to save a buck. I must say though the food was good and there was plenty of it. I hope all guys realize they wont see a raise for quite some time now because they just ate it. Like I really needed to know how to properly put on my arc flash gear? Please we know how to get dressed. You think they could of found something a bit more usefull. Let me also state that nobody has a 10hr. osha certificate after this one. I will say that only a few got to actually drive the boom lift and scissor and you have better of paid attention because that was all the training you'll receive until the next accident occurs. Just take a look at the safety videos on this company's website, each and every video is filled with safety violations. I have provided a link at the bottom of this post so you may look for yourself. Please take a look at the most notable one which is entitled "lighting safety". I will point out a few things in this video, 1) lock out the switch they say not the circuit. What if the feed comes into the light? you are still subjected to live wiring even though the switch is locked out. 2) Yes using safety gloves to service the light is good but you MUST wear thwe leather gloves on top of the rubber. 3) Take a look up in the fixture and see how the romex is coming into the fixture with no connector.
