Dear Josh Shapiro:

I am writing this letter regarding a service I received from Roto-Rooters.

My account number with Roto-Rooters is 77-[protected].

On August 29, 2022, a salesman Isaac Alata-Garay from said company had came out to give me

a quote for a replacement of an underground sewage pipe elbow. I had told him I had a few other

plumbers that came out and gave me estimates and he said he will match their price and can have

guys out to the site as soon as the next day if I hire them. The price he gave me was $6500 and

$1000 for the deductible since he said he can make a claim to the insurance to help pay for the

cost as well. Isaac then mentioned about the water restoration service to come clean up any

sewage water that contaminated any of the area in my basement. I had informed him that I do not

want this service I just want the plumbing done, he then told me that this isn't an option service that

it was a requirement per OSHA regulations and that this is an additional cost that the insurance

company pays for that he himself submits the claim to my insurance that I don't need to worry that

he is certain that based on the policy I sent him I only have to pay the 1000 deductible for the

service. I asked him several times expressing my concerns of not being able to pay for any

additional services and again he told me I wont have to pay for it this is covered under my

insurance. After the claim was submitted I seen their pictures they submitted and noticed they

never cleaned up any of the sewage water at all. For them to complete said task, they MUST

remove subflooring. My one room in my basement is framed about 3" up from the concrete floor in

which the sewage water was running under the floor and has never touched the subflooring and is

virtually impossible to do so unless my basement was flooded completely in 3" of water. This

company instead of taking up the subflooring they pressure washed the subflooring. I had called

and complained about this matter and informed the manager that this job was never done which he

had agreed that it wasn't and agreed to take my bill down to 4000 and offered to come back.

They lied to sell service and then don’t complete. This company also attempted to overcharge my

account $8000 then $500.

I owe $4000 for this service.

I contacted Chuck on September 27, 2022, and explained that the service was unsatisfactory. I

informed Chuck that the service was not done and he agreed yet only was willing to take the bill

down to $4000. I argued that I shouldn't have to pay a bill for a service that was never done, that I

was lied to and told that it was required per OSHA regulations to have done and later found out

from other plumbers that that was not true. He called me scum and threatened to put a lien on my

property even though we agreed upon a date of November 5th for payment. Failure to receive an

appropriate response to this problem has prompted me to write directly to you.

On October 04, 2022, I contacted Business Consumer Alliance and explained that the service

was unsatisfactory. The salesman lied to sell me service giving me reason to believe I had no

option but to hire the service, and the service was never done.

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving my complaint. I would like to be relieved

from Roto-Rooters of the full cost of the service in the amount.

Enclosed are copies of my records, including Pictures of work done, pictures of where water

actually goes, bill

I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding my problem. I would like to receive a response

from you within 10 days.

Please contact me at the above address if you have questions or need additional information. I can

also be contacted by phone at [protected]. I may be contacted by e-mail at

[protected]@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

JESSE MILLER

Desired outcome: relieved from bill and damages to be paid for
