On 7 Feb 2007 at 16:38, I ordered, on-line, a rifle cartridge belt, known as a Quigley Belt, from San Pedro Saddlery. The order number is [protected]. A charge of $175 for the belt and $8 shipping and handling was charged for a total of $183.00 to my Discover credit card. As of July 29, 2009, I have not received the belt after nearly 2 years and 5 months after placing the order. On Sat 4/14/2007 at 12:25 PM, I sent an email to the company requesting information on the order status. After numerous attempts calling the business phone number which no one ever answered or returned my call, I sent an email on Sat 6/23/2007 at 1:28 PM to Mr. Douglas through Ebay eBay Member: tombstone-big-ed (since I noticed he was selling an item on there) inquiring about the status of my order. Mr. Douglas responded on Sat 6/23/2007 at 1:35 PM saying that he would get it out to me ASAP. On Tue 8/28/2007 at 5:42 AM, I again sent an email to Mr. Douglas inquiring about the status of my order. On Thu 10/11/2007 at 5:43 AM, I again sent an email to Mr. Douglas inquiring about the status of my order. On Fri 10/19/2007 at 5:19 PM, I again sent an email to Mr. Douglas inquiring about the status of my order. On Oct 23, 2007, Mr. Douglas posted the following on his website; "In an effort to catch up on all of our backorders, I am taking San Pedro in a new direction. Starting right now, we are no longer accepting retail orders. Those of you who have orders in with us, I assure you that your orders are safe! They will be filled as timely as is possible. We have received so many orders that our backlog has become too great to get them out in a rapid manner and I will not sacrifice quality for speed! We will get all of our back orders caught up - that is my promise to you!" On Mon 3/17/2008 at 7:59 AM, I again sent an email to Mr. Douglas inquiring about the status of my order. On Mon 3/17/2008 at 12:51 PM, I received a response from Mr. Douglas stating that he would do his absolute best to get the belt out to me in 2 weeks. On Fri 4/4/2008 at 5:00 AM, I sent an email to Mr. Douglas requesting a shipping date for my belt. On Thu 4/10/2008 at 5:45 PM, I sent Mr. Douglas an email asking him to respond to my request for a ship date for my belt. On Thu 5/8/2008 at 5:08 PM, I sent Mr. Douglas an email asking him to respond to my two earlier requests for a ship date for my belt. On Wed 5/14/2008 at 4:58 PM, I sent Mr. Douglas an email through Ebay eBay Member: tombstone-big-ed (since I noticed he was selling another item on there) inquiring about the status of my order. On Wed 5/14/2008 at 5:37 PM, I received a response through Ebay messaging from Mr. Douglas stating, "I'm sure sorry to be so hard ta get a hold of! I been in the Hospital for a spell, I'm on the mend now, I should be getting you belt finished up and out to you within the next week Pard!" On Tue 5/27/2008 at 5:13 AM, Fri 5/30/2008 at 5:03 AM, and again on Tue 6/17/2008 at 11:51 PM, I sent Mr. Douglas emails through Ebay eBay Member: tombstone-big-ed inquiring about the status of my order. On Sun 7/5/2009 at 11:18 AM, I sent Mr. Douglas an email inquiring about the status of my order, however I received an email response back showing me, "sanpedro AT mindspring.com...User account is unavailable", meaning that particular email of his was no longer active. Mr. Walter "Big Ed" Douglas' residential address was 6909 E Lobo Ave, Mesa, AZ [protected], even though his business San Pedro Saddlery Company was located at 1108 E. Fremont Box 542, Tombstone, Arizona 85638, Phone: [protected] Fax: [protected]. His wife's name is Beverly E. Douglas. Mr. Douglas is/was a member of SASS (Single Action Shooters Society). Mr. Douglas usually signs "Yer'Migo! "Big Ed" at the bottom of any emails he sends out. Mr. Douglas took down his http://www.sanpedrosaddlery.com website sometime after October 2007. When I tried to trace his IP address for the website it came back with the message, "We're sorry, access to http://www.sanpedrosaddlery.com has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt." I believe Mr. Douglas had someone build a wonderful website for him, never realizing the amount of orders he would receive, and ultimately not be able to fill. Mr. Douglas undoubtedly made a great deal of money from folks who never received the products they ordered. According to Mr. Douglas' MySpace account, his last login was 1/22/2009. His MySpace page is located at http://www.myspace.com/bigeddouglas and states he is 54 years old. On of "Big Ed's Blurbs" states "I'm Big Ed Douglas, and I own and operate San Pedro Saddlery formerly of Tombstone, Arizona. We're in the process of moving to north of Chicago, but will be back up and running as soon as possible!" So I would say based on his blurb, he has moved out of Arizona and possibly north of Chicago, although I was unable to find him online through the whitepages. On his MySpace page, it has a link to this website, http://www.sanpedrosaddlery.net/. After going to this link, it appears to have an online form to fill out for people to contact San Pedro Saddlery if they have an outstanding order and need the problem resolved. I have filled out the form with my information, but I have not received any response nor product. I know of a person who complained to the Arizona Attorney Generals Office, but because Mr. Douglas was no longer in Arizona they refused to do anything about the matter.
