Was entering a few internet competitions when I saw one for Sapphire Studios. Thought it would be lovely to win a makeover so I entered. I received a phonecall within the next couple of days saying that I had won. I was ecstatic and despite the company asking for a £49.99 deposit to secure the free makeover, I decided it would be nice for a pampering.
The man I spoke to on the phone 'Dewan' seemed charming and gave me all the supposed details for this company (including the address above). I gave over my bank details and the money was whipped out of my account pretty quickly. After the phonecall I used the internet to find the address so that I would be certain I knew where to go on the date. It was when searching for the address that I realised that Sapphire Studios did not exist at the address given to me.
I have since found another address for this company on this website - 8 Eagle Court, Farringdon, EC1M 5QD.
The numbers I was given to ring if I wanted a refund go straight through to a voiemail with no mention of sapphire studios at all. I am currently unemployed due to major health issues, but this 'Dewan' obviously thought nothing of that when he took my money.
I was conned out of money too. £99! The woman on the phone seemed charming but I thought that since I didn't give her the last 3 digits on the back of my card, they wouldn't be able to take any money out of my account. Wrong! When I tried to ring them back to explain I wouldn't be able to make the shoot on the date they had given me and to ask for my money back, the woman I spoke to simply told me they couldn't and refused to say anything else or give me any more details. Evil people! I'm angry that they're still in existence. My bank which was Alliance Leicester at the time were useless when I reported it to them. Almost like they wanted to aid the crooks. I didn't know who to turn to at the time so they got away with it. They should be shut down and imprisoned in my opinion. They've got away with fraud and theft! There seems to be no support out there for people who have been conned.
