I posted a room for rent in my home on Gonzalez Dr in San Francisco in January of 2017. Shortly after one Jason Mills contacted me on Facebook to inquire about the room and to schedule a viewing. We agreed upon $860 a month for the shared master bedroom. Jason and his wife Sara Mills (nee Mangus) moved on February 2017.
Shortly after moving in Jason lost his job. No big deal, we thought. It happens. However, he did not try to find a new one and his wife Sara quit her job at the Marketbar shortly afterward.
From then on out they did not contribute financially to the rent, bills, or groceries. They sat on the couch 24/7 watching TV, playing video games, or playing on their computers. They did not clean, or cook, and they gladly ate our food. None of which they paid for. They basically took over the entire house - food, furniture, and everything else in between.
Unfortunately by this point they had established a residency in our home and we would have to go to court to evict them. Sadly California favours tenants, even undesirable tenants like ours.
Come to find out that they are both heavy drugs users and drug dealers as well. Sara would often sell her prescription medication to buy makeup with. Jason peddled marijuana on the side. We frequently had undesirably people visiting our home, oftentimes taking up residency for days on our couch.
The final straw was when I started noticing things going missing. Sara would steal my makeup, clothing, even my underwear! Gross! Jason began pawning our expensive items to buy drugs.
We tried to get them to leave and they refused. We're all university students. We can't afford to take people to court.
Ultimately we decided to move out. Sara Mills (nee Mangus) and Jason Mills still live in our old home. The address is 833 Gonzalez Dr, San Francisco, California. Whatever you do, do not rent with these individuals! Just stay away from them. They are sketchy and awful at best.
