Shiply.com review: Company verification process

I accepted from one of their shippers that they had labeled as "VERIFIED." I paid Shiply the required deposit, and I then had to arrange the shipping and delivery directly with the shipper. Shortly after the arrangements were made, I received a message from Shiply basically informing me that the shipper was relatively new to them, and to make sure that he is licensed and insured. Well, nearly one month later and STILL waiting for my item, I'm wondering what Shiply bases their "verification" on? The shipper has stopped responding to my inquiries / messages, and this is not looking too good for ANYONE at the present time.
