Our house in Tahoe has Sierra Pacific Windows. While under warranty, we needed to replace five windows due to moisture between the panes. At first the company employees were very nice and easy to work with.
My problem with them is that it took FIVE different visits and around 12 months for them to complete the repairs. Each time there was a problem. I was okay with it and worked with them to reschedule each time.
The last time it was done, was winter. When the snow melted, I saw damage around the trim boards where the glass was replaced. They said that they replace the glass from the inside, not the outside, and took no responsibility. They agreed that the damage could not have been weather or anything else.
The only reason to work in that space was for the glass, yet they took no responsibility and told me that it is just a mystery. They could not give me any other reasons why the trim was damaged right where the nails are that hold the trim up.
Looks like someone tried to remove the trim by taking nails out, but the wood splintered.
They did not help me fix this, and yet agreed with me that no other worker would need to access that area, and it was not weather either.
A real mystery, all right.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do not help you when there is a problem.
Do not trust them to do work on your house when you are not there. They told me that they do this all the time and that they take full responsibility however when a problem came up they said it was a mystery!
Considering how much money was spent on their windows and French doors in my entire house when it was built, I think they should have better customer service.
Do not trust this company. They do not care about their customers.
You are just plain wrong and should stop slandering this company immidiatly. I work for one of their competitors and as much as I wish this were true, it just isn't. There is absolutly no reason why their people would TOUCH your exterior trim. It would only make things more difficult for them. Sorry but if you really believe this, hire a lawyer, otherwise, stop spreading false information. I've found your same post on other forums.
I totally agree with you. I work for an apartment complex and we've had SEVERAL tenants lose their screens as a result of wind (they used these lame push pins to secure the screens to the window frame). We've had the company out here several times and they always come unprepared, they've botched the screen orders countless times (we have two tenants who've been waiting for screens for over a year), and I can never get ahold of any of their representatives. Do not work with this company! They have terrible customer service, are extremely difficult to get in touch with, never return calls, and are completely incompetent!
I spent over 40k on Sierra Pacific windows for a high end spec home. They make a home look nice with their exterior reveal! They do have two definite problems. The first is the building process of these windows at the factory. The assembly line workers get silicone finger prints all over the bare wood window frames and the veneer panels of the doors. It's so impregnated into the wood, it can't be sanded away. This wouldn't have been as noticeable if a clear or natural stain had been used. The interior decorator chose dark colors. Stain does not absorb into silicone plugged wood grain and pores! It looked like hell with light colored finger prints everywhere the silicone blocked the stain absorption. It looked like a bunch of preschool kids were let loose in the factory to do finger painting with silicone. I'm not exaggerating and have many photos! I called and the rep showed up mad at me. Blame the customer for factory problems? I had to force them to take half of the product back with a lawyer writing them a letter. Did it help? NO! They still had silicone all over the wood! The third try had over 10 quality control workers initials on the shipping boxes! The second problem is scheduling their warranty worker. He did great work once on site, but the no shows and reschedules were not acceptable. I'm not a corner cutting fly by night general contractor. I was awarded contractor of the year in my area for 2010. This window company could be a great competitor to Marvin and Pella if they would fix these two areas of short comings. It has to come from owners giving a hoot and hiring workers that take pride in their work too!
Contacted Sierra pacific windows more than 10 times as I have some water damage and need to repair or replace the window ... These guys do not show up for appointment and do not even return phone calls !
Kyle obviously knows nothing!
I have eight large Sierra Pacific windows with a combine total of seventeen panes. Most windows are on north-west face, with some on north-east side of house. Four of the panes show severe foggy residue on interior sealed pane, while another two show early signs. It's not water but some sort of interior coating. It appears to be getting worse with time. The failed windows look dirty, but the issue is inside with the sealed portion. I would not recommend using these windows to anyone. We had installed on an earlier addition to the house windows by another competitor (Kolbe-Kolbe). They are older and still look great. The only reason we went with Sierra Pacific was the K-K dealership ceased in Bend and the Sierra windows had similar wood frames.
I Have don two houses with them. I am extremely pleased. For sure the repair is slow but the doors are better quality than others.
I purchased Pella for my other Spec. house, since the waiting time was shorter. I regret 100%.
I am building one in Brentwood, Los Angeles and for sure I will use them again.
Our builder installed Sierra Pacific windows in our newly built home. Four french doors and transom Windows leaked the very first time it rained in November. The SP rep came out and claiming it was an installation issue caulked them. Of course they leaked again the next time it rained. I was then told that they can't do anything until the rainy season ends. So...each time it rains the water pools on our brand new wood floors causing them to leak. It is now March and the French doors in our master bedroom are now leaking too. DO NOT BUY!
Their windows are poorly manufactured and they do not stand by their warranty. All they do is stall. I took multiple days off from work as well as countless emAils and phone calls. They just want you to go away. I have to add Vstrip and thermal tape to my windows as air comes right through. Stay far away from this company!
I’ll just add that my experience with Sierra was equally as bad in terms of quality and custome service.
🔺🔺Sierra Pacific Windows review🔺🔺
After our gorgeous wood windows were destroyed by wind and hail, I spent more time than necessary looking for a perfect replacement.
We settled on Sierra Pacific, waited 4 months to get an estimate, paid our deposit, only to learn 11 months later — they cashed our check but never ordered the windows.
19 months after we picked those babies out, we proudly stood in the front yard, marveling at their beauty.
Until . . .
Winter came and cold air blew through the bottom corners of every sash.
Spring came and 75 mph gusts swirled red dust through our house.
I’ve tried multiple calls and texts to the local company that installed them. They’ve come out to see for themselves and acknowledged there’s an air leak in every window.
It’s important to note it’s not an installation problem, it’s a manufacturer defect on the sash. Something is missing inside the window— you can shine a flashlight through the sash corners into a dust filled gap
Months keep dragging by. No window rep. No help. Just a whole lot of dirt sneezing, red eyes and raspy voices.
