Silver Singles Review: Disappointing Experience for Over 50s Dating Site
I've been around the block when it comes to online dating, and let me tell you, it's not easy. As a single guy in my late 50s, I was excited to try out Silver Singles, a dating site specifically for people 50 and over. I thought it would be a great way to connect with like-minded individuals and hopefully find a compatible companion. However, my experience with the site left a lot to be desired.
First off, the free membership is pretty much useless. But I wasn't surprised by that, as I've encountered that issue with other dating sites in the past. So, I decided to take the plunge and pay for a six-month membership. Unfortunately, things didn't get much better from there.
The majority of my "matches" were located too far away to be practical, and I was surprised to find that the site was full of women who were clearly in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. I mean, what's the point of a dating site for people over 50 if it's going to be flooded with younger individuals? It just doesn't make sense to me. And to make matters worse, there were countless profiles with no photos and spammy messages from young women with phone numbers and email addresses plastered all over their profile pics.
When I brought these issues to the attention of the site's customer service team, I was told that they allowed younger people to join because it wouldn't be fair to exclude them. But what about the fairness of forcing the over 50 crowd to sift through all the incompatible profiles? It just doesn't seem right to me.
And while the site claims to take fraud and safety seriously, I found that virtually every "smile" I received from a profile with a photo had a phone number or email address in the picture. It's clear that they're not doing enough to keep the fakes out.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Silver Singles to anyone. It's more phony than real, and there are better dating sites out there that cater specifically to the over 50 crowd. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.
SilverSingles Review: Overwhelming Spam Messages and Terrible Customer Service - Not Worth Your Time or Money
I'm a 72-year-old divorced man who's no stranger to online dating. It's just as challenging as dating in person, and I've been a member of SilverSingles for six months now. At first, things were okay, but then it turned into a huge pain. The profiles that appear with a text or phone number written on the ONE picture or with an email address as their name are just phishing techniques. I've included some examples. You'll even get elaborate paste and send messages that their profile was a success, they're getting married soon, and it was their last day, so don't bother replying. But my friend saw your profile and has been all over me to get you to contact them. Then an email to write to. It's madness.
SilverSingles brags about their ability to find these idiots, but they don't. I get 20+ spammer messages a day of all three types. The vast majority come from someone way out of your age preferences, but the spammers are moving that age around. SilverSingles also owns EliteSingles, so there must be no desired age limits given there? One customer service rep bragged that they were the third-largest Christian dating site in the world. WHAT? That was news to me. Lol. They mix in all the profiles from the sites. Customer service is terrible. It was okay at first when I joined, but now it's dismal. Just vetting the fakes takes up your precious time. Doing their job, come to mind. It's hopeless, and the one or two people I've had contact with seem to drift away, or I have to scroll through the maze of spammers to see the 'thread.' It's gotten so bad that I figured it was some sort of corporate espionage from a larger company to buy their name, as this site and two more are based out of Berlin. As if Covid wasn't bad enough, now a war in Europe, and what solstice was given from online meeting has turned into another misery. It's typical of a lot of dating sites. Just give me your CC #...
In conclusion, don't waste your time or your money on SilverSingles. It's not worth it. The spam messages are overwhelming, and customer service is terrible. It's just another dating site that's not worth your time.
SilverSingles Review: Scammers Everywhere, Not Worth the Money!
I recently signed up for SilverSingles on August 28, 2022 and opted for the premium membership for six months. However, I had to cancel my subscription on October 13, 2022. It was definitely worth it to pay $150 to avoid the aggravation and headache that came with using this dating site.
Unfortunately, there were very few real members on the site. Instead, I received daily messages from scammers, just like what other users have described. These scammers had the same profile or the same theme of profiles, and they all had the same theme of messages. For example, one scammer claimed that he was going through his profile before he closed it and stumbled upon my profile. He then asked me to email his friend, who was a widower. It was all just a bunch of nonsense!
Another scammer claimed that he was doing this for his friend. He said that he was telling his friend how the site works and they stumbled upon my profile during their search for women around his location. He then asked for my email or phone number to forward to his friend or gave me his email to contact him or his friend for more information and photos. It was all very suspicious.
I did communicate with one person for two weeks, but his messages were weird and repetitive. He kept telling me that he was new to the site and had only joined a month ago. He also had broken English, Italian descent, Irish looks, blonde hair, and no parents or kids. It was all too convenient! After two weeks of weirdness, I decided to test him by asking him to post a photo of himself with his favorite cup of coffee. Suddenly, he vanished! Then, I received a message alert from SilverSingles that there was a suspicious member trying to contact me. It was all very fishy!
I also noticed that most scammers would send a smile and not check my profile. My friend reviewed my profile, but the weirdness in his conversation was hard to miss. I reported all the messages I received and always got alerted by SilverSingles after the fact. I sent a message to all the people who contacted me and read their profiles to let them know to check SilverSingles' reviews on this website. I also included some of the profiles in the photos. I think we're all real people, but I had to make my exit. I can't stand the thought of this website fooling other people.
SilverSingles is out to get your money, and they only have a few legit members. They keep you busy with their scammers, who they harbor and protect. It's a German-based company, and they don't deserve even half a star! I feel sorry for those poor people whose photos had been posted under a scammer's fake name. Some profiles are very common, usually claiming to be a project manager with a master's degree in scamming.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against joining SilverSingles. It's not worth the money or the headache. There are much better dating sites out there that are more reliable and have more real members.
Silver Singles Review: Disappointing Matches, Difficult Cancellation Process, and Scammers
Silver Singles is a dating site that I recently joined, and I have to say, my experience has been less than satisfactory. First of all, I discovered that Silver Singles is actually combined with Elite Singles, which means that they share the same membership pool. I found this out when I switched from one site to the other and saw the same profiles. The sign-up process is also identical.
One of the biggest issues I had with Silver Singles was the matches I received. They were all located far away from me, even though I live in the northwest. When I contacted the customer service team to inquire about this, they told me to narrow my preferences. However, this only resulted in a recycling of previous matches, and many of the people were well above my age range. To make matters worse, about 50% of the people didn't even have photos on their profiles.
The "Have you met" section was also disappointing. I won't go into detail, but it was frankly just sad. It seems like the site has an imbalance of more "senior" members, and they try to shift them down the age line to create interest in the older members. This is a waste of time and money for those of us who don't fit into that category.
If you do decide to try Silver Singles, be prepared for a difficult cancellation process. The cancellation page is disingenuous and misleading. I assumed that my membership would cancel automatically after three months, but that wasn't the case. When I tried to cancel, they ignored my request for a refund and hid behind a lack of online evidence that I had canceled. I've written to them five times this week, and I keep getting the same standard responses. I'm not even sure if I'm talking to a person or a machine at this point.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend Silver Singles unless you live in the Home Counties. The site doesn't work well for those of us who live elsewhere, and the cancellation process is a nightmare. If you do decide to join, be careful of scammers who may try to exploit you. If someone gives you an email with a bizarre extension, it's likely an attempt to manipulate you. Also, be wary of people who write to you but haven't actually visited your profile. They may be looking for vulnerable people to take advantage of.
Overall, my experience with Silver Singles has been frustrating and disappointing. I hope that others can learn from my mistakes and avoid the same issues.
SilverSingles: Not the Best Fit for Urban, Educated, and Liberal Singles
I enrolled at SilverSingles for a month-long membership, hoping to find someone compatible with my beliefs and preferences. After joining, I queried customer service to confirm whether my standards align with their demographic, only to be treated rudely by a disinterested representative who acted bored with my request for information. Nonetheless, I determined to match with someone with similar tastes, setting my preferences in a practical and candid manner. I found myself waiting for someone to respond, but to no avail. For five days, I remained on the site, but no one seems to be suitable for me. None of the people in the matches satisfied my criteria. People sent my way were from far-off places, were conservative and religious, thoroughly divergent from my perspective. I contacted customer service once again, and this time, a much nicer person responded. However, they suggested I should be more liberal with my preferences. I disagreed, as my standards were straightforward and specific. I cancelled my subscription to prevent auto-renewal, and to request a refund, which was promptly denied. The support that suggested the platform was for senior singles didn't always perform as promised. My preferences made it challenging, and I felt robbed of my money and time spent on constructing my profile. With this experience, I felt that it was not a great fit for singles looking for urban, educated, and liberal relationships.
A Disappointing Experience with SilverSingles
I recently tried out SilverSingles (silversingles.com) and unfortunately, I have a lot of complaints about the experience. One of the biggest issues is the lack of customer support available. After signing up and paying for the service, it was impossible to get in touch with a real person to discuss any problems or concerns I had. Even sending an email went unanswered, which was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling like my investment in the site was wasted.
Another issue I encountered were the preferences that users are asked to fill out when searching for matches. While it's helpful in theory to select criteria that are important to you, such as geographic distance, it seems that the site doesn't always take those choices into account. For example, I initially selected a max distance of 100 miles but found that many of the matches I was receiving were actually much further away than that. When I adjusted my preferences to emphasize a shorter distance, I still didn't see any improvement in the accuracy of my matches.
To make matters worse, many of the profiles I was matched with had no photos and gave no indication of compatibility based on shared interests or values. It felt like I was being bombarded with random profiles that didn't match my preferences in any way. And to top it off, I encountered several scam artists posing as potential matches. One person claimed to be in love with me after a brief phone call, while another said they were located 144 miles away from me but then revealed they were actually in Kuwait trying to start a business.
Overall, I would caution anyone from using SilverSingles. While the site has potential, it falls short in several key areas such as customer service, accuracy of matches, and security against scams. If you're considering using this service, I recommend doing extensive research and reading reviews from other users to fully understand the risks and limitations. In my opinion, it's better to spend your money elsewhere and find a more trustworthy and effective dating site.
SilverSingles Review: Expensive, Scammers, and Poor User Experience
Having tried several dating sites over the years, I have had varying degrees of success when it comes to finding a partner. However, my experience with SilverSingles has been a little different. Despite using the site for some time, I haven't met anyone yet. This is mainly due to the fact that it's quite difficult to communicate or see profiles without paying a hefty sum. In fact, initially, the site asks for an exorbitant amount of money (like $129 a month), which is quite off-putting. However, when I declined, they eventually offered me membership for 75% off. While it was a reasonable offer, it still didn't feel particularly cheap for what they provide. The costs range from $60 for one month to about $100 for three months, and a yearly package for just shy of $200. Additionally, there is an option for coaching, which is an extra $200 fee.
Of the two people who contacted me, the site claimed that they were scammers after I had already cancelled my membership and gave my telephone number to them before leaving. One never reached out to me personally, and the other seemed like a scammer. I also found that when I sent several smiles to suggested matches, all I got back were rejection letters. One thing that particularly irked me was that one can't tell who likes you on this site. The only section on the app that shows mutual matches rarely worked for me, even in three months of usage.
The site was difficult to navigate, and you couldn't search on your own; you could only respond to the suggested matches, many of which didn't match my preferences. What's more, with their editing, your photos would mostly show facial close-ups. To top it all off, the site frequently froze, which made the whole experience even more frustrating.
In conclusion, I found that the site was quite expensive and more concerned about taking my money than providing a quality experience and service. It's not user-friendly, not conducive to making connections, has scammers on it, and seems to have few true active members. Honestly, it was a waste of my time and money, and I wouldn't recommend it.
SilverSingles Review: Disappointing Matches, Frustrating Subscription, and Time Wasted on Irrelevant Profiles
Six months ago, I joined SilverSingles with the hopes of finding a potential partner to establish a long-term relationship. Unfortunately, my experience using this dating site was less than satisfactory. Despite setting a 50-mile limit, a large percentage of my matches were located in states far beyond my area, including North Carolina, Texas, Nebraska, Illinois, and more. As an 81-year-old living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area, it was absurd to receive matches so far away. This made connecting with potential matches virtually impossible.
Furthermore, the few matches that I did receive weren't very relevant or compatible with my interests, needs, and personality. It was disappointing and frustrating to continually feel like I was wasting my time scrolling through matches that weren't even in my vicinity.
Perhaps the worst part of my experience was attempting to cancel my subscription. Despite being computer literate for over 50 years, I found it nearly impossible to find information on how to cancel my subscription through SilverSingles' website or online searches. I was ultimately forced to contact my credit card company to receive credit for the charges that SilverSingles illegitimately placed on my account. This experience was incredibly frustrating and time consuming, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it.
In summary, I caution anyone considering SilverSingles to be very careful before subscribing to the site. Based on my experience and the experiences of several women I've talked to, I don't feel confident that this site is worth the time, effort, or money invested in it.
Disappointing Customer Service and Limited Matches - My Experience with SilverSingles
I recently signed up for SilverSingles and was excited to start my search for love. However, after one week of usage, I encountered a problem with my account. I could not log in and was given an error message. I tried several times to reset my password but did not receive any emails with instructions on how to do so.
Growing increasingly frustrated, I called the customer service number provided on the website. To my disappointment, I was met with a foreign voice on the other end. They told me that there was something wrong with my computer and they needed access to it to fix the problem. Immediately, my red flags went up and I hung up the phone feeling extremely uneasy.
Upon further investigation, I found out that this is a common scam where fake customer service representatives prey on unsuspecting victims by gaining remote access to their computer. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed in the way the situation was handled by SilverSingles and felt very insecure with their platform.
To make matters worse, the matches I was receiving were not up to par with what I was looking for. I had specific criteria, such as a non-smoker, and was not finding a lot of potential matches that met my needs. The majority of profiles were also from other states, making a long-distance relationship nearly impossible.
It also seems that many profiles on the site are not active or do not respond to messages, leading me to question the validity of their user base. It was frustrating to put in the effort to answer personal questions and create a profile only to be met with disappointment.
When I attempted to dispute my credit card charges with my provider, I learned that this is a common issue and that the company was flagged for fraudulent behavior. It seems that I am not alone in this struggle, which is disheartening.
To make matters worse, their support fax number is based in Germany, making it difficult to get in touch with a real representative. Overall, I would not recommend SilverSingles to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy dating platform.
Silver Singles Review: Overwhelmed by Scammers and Fraudulent Users
Unfortunately, my experience with Silver Singles was less than ideal, as I found myself dealing with an overwhelming number of scammers and fraudulent users. Despite paying a significant fee of $105.13 for a three-month membership, I quickly found myself inundated with requests to move communication off of the site and onto personal channels, in clear violation of the platform's rules. What's more, many scammers had included phone numbers and email addresses in their profile names, further indicating a lack of regulation on the site.
Despite repeatedly messaging the site's management team and pointing out the many instances of fraudulent activity, I was met with little support or attention to the issue. It was only after a week of non-stop messages that I finally received contact from a representative promising to refund my money and remove my information from the site. However, this promise proved empty as a week later my profile was still live and I had been charged another $105.13, which brought my checking account into overdraft territory.
At this point, my trust with the site was completely shattered. Not only did I lose a significant sum of money, but my personal information was still live on the site without my consent. While I would caution anyone against using Silver Singles, I also believe this situation highlights the importance of ensuring safety and security on any online dating platform.
SilverSingles Review: Limited Matches and No Control Over Profiles - Not Worth the Price
As someone who's into older women, I decided to try out SilverSingles.com. I was excited to see what kind of profiles I could browse through or if there was a swipe-system in place like other dating apps. Unfortunately, that was just wishful thinking on my part, because once I paid for a three-month membership, I was only presented with nine matches. I was confused and thought maybe those were just the recommended profiles, so I tried looking for a search bar to access more profiles. But to my dismay, there wasn't one.
As someone who's been in the online dating game, I know that it takes a lot of swiping and sending out messages before you get any matches. However, the notion of not having any options to swipe or browse left me with a sense of unease. I decided to reach out to their help section for a solution, only to find out that I couldn't even search their website for potential matches. They do all the matchmaking for me, and I couldn't do anything about it.
I mean, the matchmaking idea could work if they matched me with thousands of other people to browse through. But it turned out that I was matched with just nine individuals, despite setting my preferences to accommodate anyone over 50. As someone who shelled out $50 for three months, it was a huge letdown. I could probably message all nine of them within ten minutes, and then what? Wait for the next 89 days for someone to reply?
I'd much rather turn to other online dating sites where I have control over swiping and browsing through profiles at my own pace. With SilverSingles, their algorithm had me at its mercy, and it only matched me with a total of nine people. Can you imagine paying for a premium service and just getting three matches? It's a complete waste of money and time.
Disappointing Experience with SilverSingles: Poor Quality Profiles, Technical Issues, and Lack of Customer Support
When I first heard about SilverSingles, I was intrigued. The website looked promising, and despite the fact that it was run by a German company, I decided to give it a go. The three-day acceptance period seemed short, but I was eager to find the perfect match, so I signed up without hesitation. Unfortunately, my experience with SilverSingles has not been entirely positive.
First of all, I had trouble accessing the site just days after signing up. My internet service was working perfectly fine, yet I couldn't log into SilverSingles. This was frustrating, but even more so was the lack of matches during my three-day trial period. In the end, I had to start sending out smiles myself in order to make any progress.
While I did eventually receive a few smiles back from other users, I was disappointed with the quality of their profiles. Many of them were poorly written, with grammar and spelling errors aplenty. I started to feel like I was dealing with children rather than adults seeking serious relationships. Even worse, some users had no photos and would only send one upon request; when I asked for photos, I received no response. This kind of behavior is not what I expected from a service that claims to help people find true love.
To make matters worse, SilverSingles seems to have a number of technical issues. Sending messages is sometimes impossible, and the website can be slow and unresponsive. What's more, there is no customer service phone number to call for immediate assistance. The only option is to email customer support, and even then, it can take up to two days to receive a response.
In summary, I regret my decision to sign up for SilverSingles. While there were some positives, such as a few matches and a visually appealing website, the negatives far outweighed them. The low-quality profiles and lack of customer support were particularly frustrating, and I would hesitate to recommend this service to anyone else.
SilverSingles Review: Poor Management, Inaccurate Matches, and Deceiving Payment Plan
As someone who has had experience with online dating over the past decade, I was excited to try SilverSingles after taking a break from dating for nearly 10 years. Unfortunately, my experience with this website was a complete disappointment.
One of the main issues I encountered was the poor management of the site. It was incredibly difficult to navigate, and the customer service team was unhelpful at best, providing canned responses that did not address my concerns or questions. Moreover, they seemed to have a lax policy when it comes to profile pictures, allowing users to upload images that violate their rules, such as sideways or overly dark photos.
On top of these issues, I repeatedly received matches that did not align with my preferences or were located too far away. Worse still, some of the profiles I encountered were fraudulent, making it clear that SilverSingles needs to do a better job when it comes to security and reviewing profiles for authenticity.
Despite being very clear that I was seeking a male partner, the site did not always send me potential matches of the correct gender, and many of the profiles I had come across appeared to be inactive. The fact that most of the individuals I had messaged on this website never responded also suggested that the majority of the profiles are old and outdated.
Additionally, SilverSingles has a deceiving payment policy. They trick you into believing that you are signing up for a monthly plan by breaking down the yearly cost into a monthly rate. However, this is not the case, and they will charge you for an entire year upfront. Unfortunately, even if you realize your mistake within the first 72 hours, you are stuck with a full year's subscription fee.
In summary, my experience with SilverSingles was incredibly disappointing. The website's many issues, coupled with its misleading payment plan, mean that I cannot recommend this dating site to anyone looking to meet a compatible partner.
On July 5th I purchased two containers from them for over $5000, they advertise a warranty. One container does not close and therefore leaks and does not seal, the other container is fine. They refuse to warranty their products if you have an issue, that has been made clear. They blew me off for months and wasted a lot of my time assuring me they would make things right. They asked me to submit a video which I did showing how the door was inoperable. Do your homework, there is no warranty if you have an issue with this company. It looks like others had decent experiences, I had half of a good experience
Got my 40' hi-cube container and it arrived as described. Delivery went great. Driver put it right where I wanted it.
HORRIBLE! Would get no stars but that is not an option. Bought a 40' container from them and they could not get it delivered. Then finally got a date set and no one showed up or even called to let me know it was not going to be delivered. Finally got in touch with them and they told me the trucking company broke down and could not get a new date set, got a new date of a month later. They say when you buy it will be delivered with in 20 days not the case. Cancelled my order and bought a new container from a company that hauls there own containers. Stay away from this joke of a company.
Thanks for your feedback
Finding Intimacy and Creativity with SilverSingles: A Review from a Mature Single in Los Angeles
As a mature single living in Los Angeles, it can sometimes be tough to socialize, especially during these unprecedented times. That's why I decided to give SilverSingles a try. While I did find myself getting sidetracked with my thoughts on California's governor's handling of the pandemic, I ultimately wanted to focus on my experience with the dating site.
What I appreciated about SilverSingles is how specific people's wants have become as we've gotten older. It's effortless to find women who share similar interests and preferences. While some women are looking for someone to travel the world with or walk on the beach, I wanted intimacy and creativity. I'm all about pursuing my passions, like writing and dancing to music, socializing with cocktails and my personal recipes, and, of course, engaging in intimacy with someone who is just as enthusiastic in the bedroom.
The older we get, the more confident and particular we become. I won't tolerate someone who blames others for their past mistakes or a woman who owns a cat. When it comes to intimacy, communication is key, and I'm not interested in guessing what will please a partner. But there is something exciting about surprises and trying new things, which is why I'm patient and looking forward to finding someone who will blow my mind.
Overall, I highly recommend SilverSingles for those who want to broaden their dating pool, especially during these difficult times. It's essential to consider geography and what you're looking for in a partner, but with this site, you're sure to find someone who shares similar interests and desires. Plus, it's always lovely to engage in meaningful conversations, even if it doesn't lead to romance.

Attempted Fraud
I was communicating with a woman from Austin, Texas who was wooing me. After a couple of days I began to "smell a rat." I would like to tell you what I know about the attempted fraud which I have avoided. I am sure I am not the only one who has been duped. Your phone is always bizzy. This is very fresh data, which I hope you can use.

I want my entire funds from the renewal returned.
They took out a renewal when I had turned it off. This is not my first rodeo. On 8/23 subscribed to silver singles. On 9/8/2023, 2 weeks approx before auto renewal I turned it off on the site. SilverSingles Review: A Total Waste of Time and Money - Don't Bother!
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with SilverSingles. I thought it would be a great way to meet some new people in my age range, but it's been a total waste of money. I mean, my profile is super simple - I just want someone who's 5'9" or taller, within a 50 mile radius, and between the ages of 70 and 79. But apparently that's too much to ask for.
Out of the supposed 200 matches I've gotten in the past two months, less than 5% have even come close to meeting my criteria. Most of them are over 100 miles away, not even in my state! And don't even get me started on the height and age discrepancies. It's like they're not even trying.
And to top it all off, every single match I've gotten in the past month has had "NO PHOTO" attached to it. When I contacted customer service (if you can even call it that), they just gave me the runaround and said it was something on my end. I even paid $200 for an IT person to come out and check my PC and iPad app, and they determined it was SilverSingles' platform that was the problem. But when I told customer service this, they just brushed me off and said it wasn't their issue. So now I'm stuck with matches that don't fit my requirements and don't even have a photo to go off of.
It's like they're just playing a numbers game - send you as many matches as possible and hope that some of them stick. And if you want more, you have to pay for it. It's a total scam.
Their customer service is a joke too. They should change their name to "It's your problem, don't bother us." You can never reach anyone and their answers are always canned and unhelpful. I've never had this problem with Match.com.
Honestly, I'm so fed up that I'm considering getting American Express involved. This feels like fraud or false advertising to me. I give SilverSingles a big fat 0 rating. Don't waste your time or money on this site.
Review of SilverSingles: Quality of Matches Could Be Improved, Gender Ratio Favors Women
I recently registered on SilverSingles and took the time to complete the profile questions and upload a few photos. I made sure my profile was specific about the type of relationship I am looking for. To my dismay, I noticed that I was receiving matches from men who had not taken the time to answer any of the questions. It was confusing to me as to why someone would be considered a match when their profile was incomplete. I am seriously looking for a permanent and romantic relationship, yet, I received a match from someone who was just looking for casual fun. I feel that SilverSingles should pay more attention to the quality of the matches they send out.
In terms of the gender ratio, I noticed that there were more women than men registered on the site. This can make it tough for someone who is looking to connect with someone of the opposite sex. Even when I took the time to write thoughtful messages to some of my suggested matches, I was met with silence. It can be disheartening to put yourself out there and not receive any response. I wrote to three people and didn't receive a single response - not even a "thank you for your message". It definitely made me wonder if there's something wrong with my profile, or if the lack of response is based on the gender ratio.
Overall, while I appreciated the easy-to-use interface and the opportunity to find like-minded individuals, I did find myself frustrated at times with SilverSingles' matching system. I hope that in the future they can refine their system to ensure that better quality matches are being sent to their users.
Review: SilverSingles fails to prioritize user security, leaving me vulnerable and violated
As a human being who values authenticity and confidentiality, my experience with SilverSingles has been far from satisfactory. Unfortunately, my messages with potential matches were hacked, compromising my privacy and security. Despite taking caution in communicating only with men within my area and even sharing my phone number with one of them that I had built rapport with, someone with a phone number from Atlanta managed to intercept our messages and pose as the guy I was regularly talking to. The tone of the messages were suspicious and alarming, so the conversation ended abruptly.
Feeling violated and concerned, I contacted SilverSingles to report the incident and seek some form of remedy. However, I was met with a lack of acknowledgement and assistance from the company. They refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for the security breach that occurred on their site, leaving me vulnerable and exposed as a user. Moreover, they refused to issue a refund, further worsening the situation.
To make matters worse, the gentleman I had connected with on the site informed me that he had tried to warn me about my account being hacked, but I never received his messages as they were also intercepted. He reported that he received several messages telling him that my account was closed every time he attempted to contact me.
It wasn't until a week later that my account reappeared as active, and the gentleman was able to message me again. I only realized then that some of the messages I had previously received were not written by him, but rather by the hacker in question.
To say that I am angry and upset about this experience is an understatement. The safety and security of users should be a top priority for any dating site, and SilverSingles has fallen short of meeting this standard. I no longer feel safe using their site and strongly urge others to think twice before signing up for their services.
Beware: My Terrible Experience with SilverSingles
If you're considering SilverSingles (silversingles.com) as a potential dating platform for finding a romantic partner, you might want to think again. My experience with this site has been nothing short of terrible. I signed up for their premium membership, paying over $167 for a six-month subscription, but all I got in return after less than 24 hours were scammers constantly trying to phish for my personal information. It's infuriating that these people are able to operate so easily on the site, and there doesn't seem to be any real effort from SilverSingles to keep them at bay.
When I tried to get a refund, the company was uncooperative and slow to respond to my requests. However, I'm cautiously optimistic as they downgraded my membership to the "free" status and sent me an email saying they are processing a refund. I haven't received the money yet, but fingers crossed.
Unfortunately, this isn't the only issue with SilverSingles. Their safety measures seem quite weak as they don't perform any screening to prevent scammers from creating accounts and don't even show them as matches on the platform. That means you can expect dozens upon dozens of fake member emails in both your site messages and personal inbox without any warning. It's not only frustrating but also a huge waste of time.
Comparing this platform to other dating services I've used before, free ones included, SilverSingles is by far the worst. To make matters worse, the company is based in Berlin, Germany, which makes the refund process even more challenging. In summary, avoid SilverSingles like the plague, and save yourself the headache and wasted money.
SilverSingles Review: Poor User Experience & Customer Service, Beware of Hidden Pricing
SilverSingles has a lot of work to do when it comes to user experience and customer service. Their website does not include any information regarding pricing until after creating an account, which can be frustrating and misleading for potential users. Additionally, trying to delete an account proved to be excessively difficult. The password reset system did not work, and telephone support ended up becoming a nightmare. A female representative contacted the reviewer, but refused to give her name or the name of the company. She then proceeded to ask a series of personal questions before inexplicably hanging up on the user. When the user received a second phone call, the same woman asked for her phone number without even offering to help delete the account. She then stated that deleting the account was impossible, despite the user's explicit request to do so. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is completely unacceptable. It is recommended that potential users look elsewhere for a reputable dating site with more user-friendly policies and helpful customer support.
Disappointing Experience on SilverSingles: Fake Accounts, Poor Matching Algorithm, Difficulty Canceling Membership
I recently joined SilverSingles for a second time, hoping to meet someone special. However, I have been disappointed with my experience thus far. I've received a number of "matches" and "smiles" from seemingly fake accounts with little to no information on their profile - some with just a single blurry photo. I strongly suspect some of these pictures are from stock photography sites. Despite the lack of details, SilverSingles gives them a high compatibility score with me.
I also had a difficult time canceling my membership - I had to hold on the phone for 45 minutes.
To make matters worse, some of the profiles initiating conversations with me seem to only have nefarious intentions. They often immediately try to move the conversation to a private email and start asking for personal information. Not only that, but their IP address reveals they're located far from me, sometimes even cross-country.
It's frustrating that SilverSingles also seems to frequently miss the mark on matching you with someone close by. For example, I came across a profile of a woman named Beth who was supposedly located just a few miles away from me. A quick reverse image search, however, revealed that her photos are easily found on the internet and belong to a UK-based fashionista/presenter.
All in all, my experience with SilverSingles has been lackluster at best. I am disappointed with the number of fake profiles and the difficulty in canceling my membership. I hope that they can improve their matching algorithm and work to eliminate these fake accounts in the future.
My Disappointing Experience with SilverSingles: Poor Matches, Ghosting, Customer Service Woes
Upon signing up for SilverSingles, I was quite excited to embark on my online dating journey. However, as time passed, I began to feel more and more disappointed with my experience. Despite selecting my preferences for matches, none of the suggested profiles seemed to align with my interests or desires.
Frustratingly, even the few people who reached out to me only engaged in conversation for a mere two days before ghosting me. Additionally, most profiles did not have photos, and many members failed to respond to requests for photos.
When I decided to cancel my membership, I found it impossible to do so online. After some searching, I finally found a customer service number and spoke with a man named Daniel who claimed their server was down and he could not access my account. He instructed me to purchase a Silversingles card from my nearest grocery store or convenience store to receive the authorization code for my refund. This was incredibly bizarre and even more frustrating as there is no such card in existence. When I informed Daniel of this fact, he became irritable and suggested I should have called him earlier so he could have told me which card to purchase.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the SilverSingles experience. The lack of quality matches, communication among members, and customer service left much to be desired. Despite my frustrations, I hope others have a better experience and find love through other dating platforms.
Disappointing Experience with SilverSingles: Beware of Hidden Charges and Ineffective Preferences
The experience with SilverSingles, unfortunately, did not meet the expectations of this reviewer. Firstly, it is advertised that users pay on a monthly basis, but it came to light that those who accidentally join the platform can be charged for a full year. Additionally, there is an automatic renewal policy in effect, which may come as a surprise to some users. One possible cause for accidentally joining the platform can be attributed to the PayPal process. Although PayPal usually doesn't charge anything until authorized, this was not the case with SilverSingles. After completing a significant amount of personal profile information, the user realizes they can no longer go back and only have the ability to go through - resulting in being charged for a full year instead of the advertised monthly payment.
Further struggles with the platform include the apparent inability to specify preferences effectively, as the settings revert to defaults that do not suit the user's interests. For instance, despite selecting preferences such as a minimum height requirement, the site keeps defaulting to 5'6". There was no option to specify the aversion to any physical trait. This made it challenging to find a suitable match and resulted in many uninteresting matches hassle.
The overall experience suggests that one should avoid SilverSingles if they want a more personalized and predictable online dating experience.
Disappointing Experience with SilverSingles: Inaccurate Profile, Lack of Quality Matches, and Frustrating Customer Service
As someone who has tried several dating sites, I was excited to give SilverSingles a try. However, my experience was far from enjoyable. In fact, it was quite frustrating. After setting up my account, which included an extensive personality test, I quickly realized that the results were wildly inaccurate. I was described as "extremely laid back" and someone who is frequently late, even though I am anything but. As I tried to upload a full-body photo of myself, I found that it was inexplicably cropped into a head shot.
My frustration continued as I attempted to narrow my matches by specifying my desired parameters for distance, age, and other preferences. Despite my efforts, the site consistently overrode my settings. When I tried to edit or revise my profile or change my pictures, I was forced to endure a lengthy "review" process that often delayed any updates for several hours.
But perhaps the most disappointing aspect of my SilverSingles experience was the complete lack of quality matches. I received only three messages in total, all of which were merely "smiles" or flirts. And the men who were sending these messages were not exactly my type; in fact, many of them looked downright shabby and unkempt. As a working professional with a graduate degree, I expected more from a site that claims to cater to serious daters.
Unfortunately, when I attempted to contact customer service to express my concerns, I was met with a frustratingly slow response time. After just two days of using SilverSingles, I decided to cancel my subscription and move on to other dating sites that were more user-friendly and effective.
Silversingles.com Review: Scammers, Unfair Advantage for Free Users, and Poor Customer Service
After trying out Silversingles.com for a period of nine long months, I must say that I was left feeling disappointed by the overall experience. First and foremost, there was a significant issue with the number of scammers flooding the platform. It was disheartening to find that a lot of these scammers were able to send "smiles" for free, and even post pictures with their email and phone contact details splattered across their faces. While the company acknowledged that this was an issue, they maintained that it was just an unfortunate part of the business - a rather unsatisfactory response.
Moreover, what I found even more unjust was that as a paying member, I had to contend with the incessant presence of these scammers while free users were given the liberty to interact with ease. I believe that legitimate members should have the option to prevent free users from accessing their profile, or at least, have a sample database that doesn't allow interactions.
Another frustrating aspect of this platform was the fact that profiles weren't approved before they were posted, leaving it up to the paid members to sort through and report fake and scam profiles. To make matters worse, the reporting feature was only available when a user received a message from the scammer. For "smiles," it was impossible to report such profiles, resulting in an unfair advantage for scammers.
When I took the initiative to send emails that I received from fake profiles to customer service for their review, the sheer volume of these emails ultimately annoyed their customer service representatives. This resulted in a message from them that my account would be canceled, which was surprising and disheartening considering I had nine months left on my membership.
Lastly, I was disappointed that I was not given the monthly subscription that I had signed up for, but instead was billed for six months. Overall, I would advise finding another dating app than Silversingles.com, as the level of customer satisfaction is not up to par with what one would expect.
Disappointing Experience on SilverSingles: Proceed with Caution
I initially joined SilverSingles (silversingles.com) with high hopes after hearing that it catered to mature seniors seeking meaningful connections. Unfortunately, my experience has left me feeling nothing but disappointed and annoyed. Despite keeping an open mind and dedicating several months to this site, I now warn others to proceed with caution.
My first red flag came when a man tried to lure me off-site by claiming his non-member friend saw my profile and lived near me. He provided the friend's email address and encouraged me to reach out. This was a clear violation of the platform's rules, and I was quick to report it. However, my frustration only grew when another user presented himself as a highly-educated and compatible match, suggesting we arrange a weekend meet-up. He even referenced a creepy term from the 'Urban Dictionary' - a clear warning sign. Despite multiple complaints, this individual is still active on the site.
While the name 'Silver Singles' may seem endearing, my experience has been anything but. I highly advise others to think twice before joining this platform, as the risks and disappointments outweigh any potential benefits.
