In the beginning of July, me and my friend decided to spend $200 on filling out the property application for Ascent at Cottonwood, which is managed by Skyline Property Management. However, we were disappointed to find out that the pictures and prices they provided did not accurately represent what they had to offer. We received a few short emails from them, where they mentioned that we would receive information about our refund, but it has been almost a month and we haven't heard anything from them since then.

Skyline Management Group charged me for rent, admin fee, pest control, and utilities (water/sewer/garbage) every month. I made sure to pay on time, but unfortunately, they failed to forward the funds to the utility company. When I reached out to the company, they informed me that Skyline had never sent any of my money to them. Now, I am left with a bill of nearly $4000 that Skyline must either settle or refund me the entire amount I paid. To make matters worse, they have sold the property and have completely ignored my emails and phone calls. It's not just me who has been affected by their negligence; other tenants have also experienced similar issues. It is crucial that Skyline Management Group takes responsibility for their actions.

My tent portal stoped working when I resigned my lease in February becuz of this I have to drive to Salt Lake to my rent with a cashier check I have no access to pay online. I paid my rent on the 4th of this month. Skyline called me today to give me a 3 day pay or vacate, I told them I paid they ask to call me back. Later they told me it was applied to the wrong account and they would fix it. I have lived here for 9 years and never had any problems before. When I resigned my lease they said would replace my appliances that has yet to happen. From what I hear I'm not the only person having troubles with this management company.

I applied for an apartment at Summit at Salado Creek on 7/25/22
I applied for an apartment at Summit at Salado Creek on 7/25/22. They denied me on 7/26/22. I called them on the same day and they said they would send my $260 refund to the address I gave them. They said it would take 15-30 days to get it. It's now 8/29/22 and I still haven't gotten anything. I've called them many times to fix this, but they always make excuses. On 8/22/22, I called the apartment to check on the status and they said *** would contact me. I waited a week and no call. I called today, 8/29/22, and talked to the manager ***. She rudely hung up on me without explaining why. I called again and they sent my call to voicemail.
I moved out of the apartments on March 13
I moved out of the apartments on March 13. I called on April 1, to get the balance for the last water bill and if any other services were required. They told me that the two remaining water bills would be $192.94, even though April hasn't been billed yet. So I asked the community director if that balance included the $100 deposit. After a short hold, he said the new balance with the $100 credit would be $107.94. I asked when I could pay it, but he said I couldn't pay at the apartments since I'm no longer a resident. Instead, I have to pay it to the National Credit Systems. I didn't receive a written bill or explanation of charges, but it was sent to the debt collector right away. I called the National Credit Systems on April 1, and spoke with someone, but they couldn't find an account for that amount under my name and social. Today, on April 14, I received a call from National Credit Systems asking me to pay the outstanding balance of $107.94, which was filed on April 8.
We've been tenants at this property for about 5 years
We've been tenants at this property for about 5 years. In December, Skyline Management Group took over. Our lease became month to month in March, with specific terms for month to month in the existing lease. It clearly states that fees or charges cannot be increased without written notice. However, they've been trying to charge us more every month, going against what the lease says. I've tried reaching out to them multiple times and even offered to pay the increased charges if they would just provide written notice. I've spoken to them a few times out of many calls, and every time they insist that my lease says the opposite and they can raise prices whenever they want. I've read the lease to them and sent them two copies, but they still claim I owe them more than what the contract states and refuse to give me notice of the changing charges. Now, I'm trying to buy a house, but they won't confirm my rent payments to the lender. They won't answer the phone and haven't returned any of my calls. I just want them to follow the contract and stop spreading false information about me to my lender. They've taken down several negative reviews from me and other tenants, even though the reviews are true and accurate. We're also filing complaints with HUD and the state attorney general.
On 05/03/2022, a certain individual never answers calls and prioritizes fee collection.
On 05/03/2022, a certain individual never answers calls, prioritizes fee-related issues, claims to miss emails he received, and enters residences without consent. Maintenance is timely, but management is difficult. A service named 'Flex' fails to process payments, and a recent $548 charge didn't show on my portal. The manager blamed ACH charges, which is illogical as all rent and fees were paid. After discussions, the charge was processed and late fees waived. The manager's assistance was minimal, and the issue recurs monthly without adequate resolution.

My apartment complex, Ascent at Marmalade in Salt Lake City, UT, and lots of other places managed by the same company, seem to have a bunch of fake reviews. There's a big difference between the 1-star and 5-star reviews on Google. I noticed this because all the 5-star reviewers had their other reviews hidden, but the 1-star ones didn't. Most of these 5-star reviews came after the new property management company (Skyline) took over. Only one of the 5-star reviews didn't hide their review history. This person reviewed my apartment complex about 4 weeks ago. Two weeks later, they left a review for a lock smith in Pittsburgh, PA saying they lost their house keys. When I looked at their history, they also reviewed a furniture store in England a month ago. And around the same time, they reviewed a construction company that renovated their master bathroom in LA, California. In their review of my apartment complex, they said they've been happily living here in Salt Lake for a year. I posted all these details in my own review on Google, and the next morning I saw that this person's other reviews were all hidden. Luckily, I took screenshots of everything I mentioned above. I'm worried about the number of fake reviews because every real review talks about the management being dishonest and incompetent, making it almost impossible to live here. They charge us twice for utilities, shut off the water without warning, start construction without warning, and we can never reach the management. I've tried contacting them multiple times by phone and email, and even my neighbors have gone to the office and still can't get in touch with them. Every real review tells people to go somewhere else, but every 5-star review says the opposite.
Summit at Westood in Austin, TX got bought out by Skyline properties in October
Summit at Westood in Austin, TX got bought out by Skyline properties in October . The main issue is that my AC stopped working on 7/10/2022. I called the emergency maintenance number countless times and left a message, placed a work order, emailed the property manager, but no one got back to me. It's July in Texas, and the temperatures are over 100 degrees. On 7/11/22, I saw the property manager walking in, but the office was locked, and no one answered the phone or called back. The temperature in my apartment keeps rising. Additionally, there are unexplained charges on my account since the property was bought out, and despite my inquiries, I haven't received an explanation.
No one has come to replace the AC filter since I moved in. I had to buy one myself because the property manager and maintenance team don't seem to do their job. The filter I replaced was completely black! This property is small, with only 150 apartments and two amenities, the gym and the pool. The mailboxes were broken into twice, and they still haven't been replaced or fixed. Their solution was to put a door in, but that got broken too.
The pool area was closed until June, and now that it's open, it's filthy. The pump is broken, and the management doesn't bother checking or cleaning the pool. I've submitted several tickets to get it fixed, and they reply that it's fixed, but nothing changes. The pump is still not working, and the pool remains dirty. Instead of actually checking for himself, the manager always needs to have the last word and stays in the office, just 10 feet away from the pool.
The gym has been closed for months for renovation, even though it's a tiny room. I don't understand why it's taking them so long. There was nothing wrong with it in the first place, maybe they could have just upgraded some weights.
They also implemented valet trash, which everyone has been complaining about. It costs a lot, makes the property dirty, and considering it's a small property with plenty of dumpsters, it's unnecessary. The dumpsters are only 20-30 feet away from every building, yet they only collect trash four days a week.
To make matters worse, the rent has gone up, but they haven't offered any compensation for the months without amenities.
After being tenants at the apartment complex since 2016, we were told 2 days before our lease was up that they had already leased our apartment
After being tenants at the apartment complex since 2016, we were told 2 days before our lease was up that they had already leased our apartment to new tenants. We had to pack up and move all of our stuff and family to accommodate them for their mistake. I specifically told ***(leasing agent) and ***(regional manager) that we needed a month to month lease as we no longer felt comfortable staying because of everything we were put through. *** ignored that request and sent me a short term lease until March because they needed to "get something in the system". That was the last time I heard from ***. Ever since I have been constantly reaching out to the office requesting the month to month lease I had asked for from the beginning. I also requested a refund of the transfer fees charged in 01/2022 since it was not our fault we had to change units. We did not get any answers or updates, the entire month of January. Come February we turned our keys in to *** the new office manager, returned multiple times to try and get him to do the apartment walkthrough and to get updates on our requests from before. *** asked to give him 2 weeks, so that he so that he could get the time to resolve and get back to us. Exactly 2 weeks later *** was not in the office and *** said he didn't know anything other than our account was now in collections not even 30 days since we moved out. Still no adjustments to our account, nor any explanation of the charges. *** asked for 2 more days and said he would call us That did not happen. We were put through a horrible time emotionally, mentally and financially. There is no communication from management, no accountability and no compassion. We are asking for our account to be refunded for$500 extra they charged us. We are also requestingFebruary be adjusted to accurately represent we turned our keys in on 02/02/2022 and any additional fees be waived as it was managements fault. Our account should also be removed from collections.
