We found their website Spikehedgies.com it is a very professional looking website. We filled out a form about purchasing a hedge hog named Paulie. After a questionnaire they said she was available. We paid $250.00 for her ($50.00 shipping fee) they faxed us a contract and said she would arrive that week. The morning she was set to ship we received an email instructing us to use a tracking app and verify all shipping info with the shipping company. A couple hours later we received an email from the shipping company, Ocean Airway, that she needs a special crate due to inclement weather. Both companies had us use PayPal, friends and family option. The shipping Co. Is now trying to charge us an additional $1375.00 for the crate and pet Ins. They are threatening us with pet abandonment etc. Both companies are now refusing to refund us any of our money and are no longer in communication with us. PayPal says that because we paid using the friends and family option, we have no recourse.
Desired outcome: We would like a refund obviously, but more important both of these "companies" and websites are fraudulent, We don't want anyone else to be victimized.
