Awful service
They have terrible warranty service and support. Their local appliance technician didn’t show for 2 of the three appointments and came one day in the morning when the appointment was for the afternoon. They can’t even get in touch with the local technician and when I called them myself I could only leave messages. The local tech voice system says they will call back same day or within 24 hours which they don’t do. It’s been over a week and nothing has been resolved just wasted hours waiting for them to show and call on the phone talking to India who do not help at all and read from their scripts.
Terrible
SquareTrade's Protection Plan: A Disappointing Experience
So, I went to Walmart and bought a phone with a two-year protection plan from SquareTrade. I thought it was a good deal, but boy was I wrong! When I went to their website, they said they would replace my phone if anything happened to it. However, when I called them to make a claim, they told me they didn't have that phone in stock and couldn't replace it. I was so frustrated because I couldn't take it back to Walmart either because there was damage.
The first time I called, the representative offered me less money than what I paid for the phone. I was not happy with that solution, so we hung up. But then, she called me back in just two minutes and made an exception. She said that I couldn't get it fixed because it was too damaged, and I couldn't get it replaced because they didn't have it in stock. This was a lie because their website clearly stated that they would replace it. However, she said they would send me a check for what I paid for the phone in about a week.
I was not happy with this solution either because who can go without their phone for a week? SquareTrade should really rethink their policies on this because it's not fair to the customers. By all rights, I should have been able to take the phone back to Walmart and have them call SquareTrade to get it replaced immediately. But no, I had to wait for a week to get a check.
I am extremely unhappy with the way SquareTrade does business. They lie to their customers and don't have a good protection plan. I will never buy a protection plan from them again. I hope the CEO or the board members of the company go without their phone for a week because they don't know how frustrating it is. The protection plan they have on their phone does not replace a phone if it's unfixable. SquareTrade needs to step up their game and provide better service to their customers.
SquareTrade Warranty Review: Disappointing Experience with PS5 Repair and Replacement
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with SquareTrade. I mean, I know warranties can be hit or miss, but this was just ridiculous. So, I bought a PS5 console from Walmart for $499, which was already a pretty penny. After months of waiting, I finally got my hands on one and decided to get the extended warranty through SquareTrade for some peace of mind. Fast forward a year later, and the disk drive stops working. No biggie, right? I file a warranty claim and send in the console to be repaired.
Now, I'm no expert, but I know that fixing a disk drive is a pretty simple repair. It's basically plug and play. So, I didn't expect any issues. But a few days later, I get an email from SquareTrade saying that my console is beyond repair and they can't replace it for the price I paid. Instead, they send me a $499 Walmart gift card.
Now, don't get me wrong, a gift card is nice and all, but my console wasn't for sale. My warranty contract with SquareTrade clearly states that they will repair or replace my console. I didn't want a refund, I wanted my console fixed or replaced. But they refused both options.
I called customer support and spoke to two managers, but they were no help. I just wanted my original console back, whether it was repaired or not. And I definitely didn't want a refund because these consoles are hard to come by. But both managers refused to send my console back.
In the end, they did refund the price I paid for the warranty, but only after I stayed on the phone with them for an hour. So, in my opinion, this warranty is only good for someone who's okay with only receiving a refund for their item. If you buy a next-gen console from Walmart and get the extended warranty through SquareTrade, there's a good chance you won't get it back when you have to send it in for a simple 10-minute repair.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with SquareTrade. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and I definitely won't be buying another warranty from them again.
Avoid SquareTrade: My Nightmare Experience with Cell Phone Warranty Claim
Listen up folks, if you're thinking about getting a warranty for your cell phone, I highly recommend going with Asurion or any other company besides SquareTrade. Sure, it might cost you a little extra cash, but trust me, it's worth it to avoid the headache that I'm currently dealing with.
I recently had to file a claim with SquareTrade for a simple screen repair on my phone. Little did I know, every claim has to go through a review process that can take anywhere from 12 to 48 hours if you're lucky. In my case, it took almost 4 days and 3 phone calls to finally get a shipping label to send my phone in for repair.
Once I had the label, things moved pretty quickly. My phone was shipped overnight, repaired, and sent back the next day. However, when I received my phone back, it had no cellular service. It turns out that the technician who fixed it broke something or forgot to hook the cellular antenna back up.
I contacted SquareTrade to let them know that I needed to send my phone back in so they could fix what they broke. This is where the real nightmare began. I've been waiting for a shipping label for 5 days now, and it still hasn't arrived in my email. I've called SquareTrade 7 times, and each time I'm told that my case will be escalated and that I'll receive the label in about 2 hours.
I'm beyond frustrated with this whole experience. I'm still waiting for a shipping label, and I have zero confidence that it will arrive in the next 24 hours. Even worse, I have less than zero confidence that my phone will be repaired correctly.
In conclusion, I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT USE SQUARETRADE. Save yourself the headache and go with a different company.
Disappointing Experience with SquareTrade: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with SquareTrade. I've been waiting for my computer for over a month now, and every time I call Allstate (who I guess is the one in charge of delivering it), I get put on hold for ages. And when I finally do get through to someone, they just give me the runaround. I mean, I get it, things happen, but this is ridiculous.
The worst part is, I was supposed to get my computer two weeks ago. I even asked them to change the delivery address because I was going to be out of town, but apparently that didn't happen. One rep told me that FedEx doesn't accept change of addresses, but when I called FedEx, they said that wasn't true. So either Allstate lied to me or they just messed up big time. And now I'm stuck waiting for them to fix it.
I've talked to so many people at this point, and none of them seem to know what's going on. They promised me a refund of $99, but I haven't seen that either. And if I want to file a notice of arbitration, I have to pay another $250. Like, seriously? I already had to buy a replacement computer because they've been holding onto mine for so long.
Honestly, I'm at my wit's end. If I don't get my computer or my money back soon, I'm going to have to file a police report for theft. It's just not right that they can keep me waiting like this. I just want what's mine.
SquareTrade Warranty Review: A Big Scam - Don't Waste Your Money!
I recently had an unfortunate experience with SquareTrade, a company that offers warranties for various products. I had purchased a 65 inch TV from Sam's Club and unfortunately, it stopped working just 20 days after the manufacturer's warranty had expired. When I turned it on, there was no picture at all. I immediately contacted SquareTrade to file a claim, but was shocked to find out that they judge your claim based on a photo or video. No technician was sent to assess the issue, just a request for pictures or videos.
To make matters worse, I had to communicate with someone in a foreign country who I could barely understand. I sent all the pictures they asked for, but they kept giving me the runaround and asking for more pictures. It was frustrating to deal with them, especially since I had already paid $49 for the warranty when I purchased the TV. It's sad that you can't buy a real warranty anymore for something like this. Every time you buy a product at Walmart, this is the warranty you're sold, and they're as worthless as the paper they're written on.
It's smart for the store you buy it from, because when you walk in with a product to do a return and tell them you bought the 4-year warranty, they tell you to call this company representative from Bangladesh. This representative has no intention of doing anything but giving you a runaround and asking for more and more information. Then they tell you that the pictures aren't clear enough and ask you to send more. Finally, they deny your claim because they can't see what the problem looks like since the TV won't turn on.
The truth is, they probably pay out very few claims that anyone ever tries to submit. Don't waste your money on this company. It's a big scam! And don't believe all the reviews you read on their website, as those are likely written by the company themselves. This experience has caused me to drop Allstate, my home owners, car, and camper insurance provider, completely.
Frustrating Experience with SquareTrade: Hours on the Phone, Broken Link, and Inconvenient Shipping
I had a really long and frustrating experience with SquareTrade. It all started at 4 PM and it's now 8 PM and I'm still on the phone with them. I'm really disappointed with their service. First of all, they couldn't find my claim and it took them hours to finally locate it. I had to call six different numbers and talk to seven different associates. Finally, they found my claim and told me that I had to send my laptop in for repair. I had already tried to troubleshoot with HP, but they couldn't help me.
So, I had to drive to the nearest FedEx, find a box, and wrap my laptop in bubble wrap. They offer a free shipping label, but I don't have a printer. They suggested that I go to the nearest library to print it out. At this point, it was already 7:30 and I was exhausted. I agreed to go to the library.
When I got the email with the shipping label, I couldn't access it. It said "access denied". I called back and they told me to try it on a different system. I tried Safari, Google, and Google Chrome, but none of them worked. They suggested that I download Google Chrome, but that didn't work either. They said they would send another email, but the same thing happened again. I was so stressed out because I use my laptop for work every day and now it's broken. I had to wait for the repair and now I have to wait for another email.
Their solution was to have FedEx attempt to print the label, but how can they do that with a non-working link? I wouldn't recommend SquareTrade to anyone. It was a terrible experience and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. I'm so annoyed!
Nightmare Experience with SquareTrade: Refusal to Honor Policy Without Receipt
I recently purchased a policy from SquareTrade for my new fridge. I opted for a 5-year policy as I know that ice makers are prone to breaking down. The cost of $160 for 5 years seemed like a good deal to me, as I figured that one repair call would cost more than that. However, when I tried to create a claim, I was met with a message that said "You can only create a claim online". I found this to be ridiculous!
I tried to create a claim on the website, but it wouldn't let me. I then called Allstate and was on the phone for what felt like forever. It refused to give me an agent or representative, and finally, after about 10 minutes, it timed out and gave me a rep. They took my information and spent about 40 minutes trying to help me, but then told me that they couldn't do anything with SquareTrade and that I needed to call them. What a waste of time!
I tried calling SquareTrade, but I kept getting the same message to file online. I kept pushing buttons, and finally, an Indian woman picked up. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand her at all. Her accent and English language skills were just abysmal. I asked for another rep four times, but she just hung up on me!
After over two hours, I finally got another Indian woman who spoke a bit better English. However, it was still a struggle to communicate with her. I had to repeat myself a hundred times. I gave her my policy number, but she couldn't understand it and kept messing up the number. It took another 30 minutes for her to finally get it right. What a nightmare!
Then she asked me to confirm my name and address. Finally! But then I couldn't understand what she was saying. She kept saying "receipt, what receipt?" I was put on hold forever and a day, and then some supervisor named David (supervisor #18) told me that I had to prove my purchase. I was like, "What? You have my policy number, and I'm on the computer from the purchase of 3 years ago. Now you demand a receipt of purchase?" I don't have a receipt for that, as I bought it online at the time of buying the fridge. I gave them my policy number, and she confirmed my address, so I'm on the computer system. But they demanded a receipt from 3 years ago that I don't have. Then they told me that they couldn't honor the insurance that is listed on their insurance system without a receipt. What a joke!
I have a printout of my policy number, the date of start and end, etc. But they refuse to honor it because I can't show proof of purchase? This is ridiculous! I will never use SquareTrade or Allstate again. They are blacklisted from my use forever!
SquareTrade Review: Terrible Customer Service and False Promises
So, I gotta say, I'm starting to have my doubts about SquareTrade. I mean, I paid out of pocket for some repairs that were supposed to be reimbursed within five business days, but it's been 45 days now and still no sign of my money. And don't even get me started on the customer service - it's been a total nightmare. I've called their call center about 15 times now, and every time I get the same runaround. They tell me they'll review my claim and get back to me within 48 hours, but then I never hear anything. And when I call back to ask what's going on, they just apologize and start the whole process over again. It's like they're just stringing me along.
To make matters worse, I was told there was a zero dollar deductible when I signed up for the plan, but that turned out to be completely false. And now SquareTrade has cancelled my policy claim altogether, so I'm out the $452.84 I spent on repairs, plus the $120.99 I paid for the insurance. It's a total ripoff, and I'm really disappointed that Allstate has their name associated with this terrible company.
I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with SquareTrade, either. I've seen other reviews online from people who've been through the same thing. It's just not worth the hassle, in my opinion. I'm going to try to get Costco to stop selling this protection plan, because I don't want anyone else to go through what I've been through.
That being said, I did eventually get a refund of around $185, which is better than nothing. And after a few months of back and forth, I was able to get a check for $385. So I guess there's a silver lining to this whole mess. But still, I wouldn't recommend SquareTrade to anyone. It's just not worth the headache.
Square Trade Review: Frustrating Experience with Claim Process and Coverage Limitations
Dealing with Square Trade was a real hassle. I had to go back and forth with them multiple times before I could even file a claim. I had purchased a refurbished TV on Ebay, which wasn't covered by a manufacturer's warranty. The Square Trade coverage was only for one year, so if anything happened after that, I was out of luck. Unfortunately, after just seven months of use, a white line appeared from top to bottom on the screen. I tried to file a claim, but the Square Trade website said I needed to contact Philips to verify that my TV wasn't under warranty before I could file a claim with Square Trade. This was frustrating because Square Trade had given me a protection plan until November 5, 2020, and they knew it wasn't covered by a manufacturer's warranty. If there had been a manufacturer's warranty that covered one year, their protection plan should have been from November 5, 2020, until November 5, 2021.
I did verify with Philips, but when I went back to Square Trade, I found the same message in my claim area. So, I chatted with Square Trade, and they told me to upload my receipt. I did so, but a few days later, I saw the same message again. I chatted with them again, and they told me my receipt hadn't been uploaded. I uploaded it again with the chat agent online with me, and I even took screenshots of the upload. The chat agent said it would be difficult to do the upload, but I'm a geek, so I did it quickly. I wonder what would have happened if someone who wasn't as good with computers had tried to do it. Then the chat agent told me I would receive an email in two days, but after over a week, I still hadn't heard from Square Trade. So, I chatted with them for the third time, and they told me to call a Square Trade claim specialist.
The Square Trade claim specialist asked if the damage was accidental, which wasn't covered. I said no, the TV hadn't been moved at all since I purchased it and placed it on my entertainment center. Then I was passed to a TV technician. At this point, I told him I was recording the conversation. He said I couldn't do that, but I told him I could because Square Trade stated that they could record the conversation. He put me on hold for several minutes, then came back to speak with me. He asked me again if the TV had been moved at all, which I took to be an attempt to negate my service plan by trying to consider the problem accidental damage. I told him I hadn't moved it at all since placing it on my entertainment center. He had me do several tests with the TV, then asked me to upload various pictures of the problem with the TV along with the model and serial number.
Over a week later, I still hadn't heard from Square Trade, so I called the claim specialist number again and told them so. They had me speak with another TV technician. Finally, I reached a reputable person at Square Trade. He looked at the record of my prior conversation and stated that he could see that I had already tested the TV with a Square Trade TV technician. Then he told me that the TV couldn't be repaired because the parts would cost more than the value of the TV, and that a check would be mailed out for about $25 less than I paid for the TV. He based the payment on what the TV would be worth right now, not what I had paid for it. Square Trade does state this when you purchase a protection plan. I did receive my check a few days later.
Overall, I wish a better company would offer service plans. Square Trade is pretty much a scam, even though I like other Allstate insurance. I have it for my home and car. Check my screen shots as proof.
Beware of SquareTrade: A Scam of a Warranty Company
I recently had an experience with SquareTrade that left me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. My family and I had purchased four different warranties from SquareTrade through eBay and WalMart. Two of these warranties expired without us ever using them, one is still good for a year, and the fourth is the one I filed a claim on recently.
The claim was for a portable A/C & Heating unit that we purchased on WalMart.com in July 2019. We didn't use the item for a few weeks after receiving it, but kept it stored properly. When we finally did use it, we noticed that it didn't cool very well. I tried calling SquareTrade, but they were closed for several days. I was frustrated and wondered what kind of company is always closed. Eventually, we put the unit in a hall closet and forgot about it until a family with a baby stayed with us over the holidays. While it did heat well, it became full of water and had to be emptied every two hours. It was a hassle, and we didn't want to deal with it, so we put it back in the closet.
A few days ago, I decided to do something about the unit. I plugged it in and waited for it to cool. While it did stream cool air, it was not very much cooler and in no way was it cold air. The room itself did not grow any cooler; it was in no way a 14,000-BTU cooled room, or system, as touted. I tried calling SquareTrade again, but they were closed again. I was frustrated and wondered why they were always closed.
I eventually found a link to file a claim and went through the process. The claim process was specifically and professionally engineered to steer me into not being able to process a claim. Before filing, I had to assert that I was not filing a false claim and that if I filed any false information, my claim could be denied. This was all well and good, except for how the claim's questions were laid out and how they allowed me to reply to them. I had to select data about my product, but not all the data was provided as a selection. If I chose the wrong selection, they could say that I provided false information. It was a catch-22, or as it should be called: a scam.
Next, I had to choose whether the item was working when I received it, and here is where they got me, and where you need to be careful! Technically, mine does not cool a 560 sq ft room like it says it should. It blows cool air out, but it does not cool the room. In other words, it does not do the job for which it was purchased and intended. So, does it mean it is or isn't working, and if so, has it ever cooled? I did not know which of the two to choose, seeing as one could see it either way, and so I chose "NO". It was a big mistake.
The most laughable part of the entire thing is one of the following questions which asks you not only to tell them "in your own words" what "happened", but where they have already pre-filled a 'sample' statement of: "My cat spilled water on it", which of course, again, is purposely meant to drive a person to fill it out in a manner in which the buyer assumes responsibility, making the claim deniable. And to boot, they only give you 250 characters to explain. It's a scam.
After my claim was denied, they gave me a number to call, but when I phoned in, I spoke with a representative who in a bored fashion literally read off a litany of canned replies as to why my claim was denied. When I tried to explain that there was not enough information allowed in the claim in order to make that decision, they again read the exact pre-canned response.
This is not the only review to say this. As such, do your research before buying a so-called warranty from them. 9/10 times it will not be honored.
In closing, I know I've said certain companies are "the worst", but I must now go and edit those reviews as SquareTrade has been crowned as the absolute worst of the worst of the very bottom-feeding, sludge-forming worst.
If anything good comes out of this entire thing, it is the takeaway that SquareTrade is an "Allstate" company, and seeing as how they conduct themselves and in my opinion purposely, intentionally and deliberately try to scheme and scam its customers out of justifiable and viable small claims, just imagine how much of a nightmare and enemy they would be as they most assuredly try to deny a house or auto claim.

Sketchy SquareTrade Warranty on eBay Purchase - Buyer Beware!
So, like, I bought some postcards on eBay, right? And then I got this email saying I had a warranty from SquareTrade for a laptop. I was like, what the heck? I didn't even buy a laptop! So, I tried to cancel it, but they denied my request. I even wrote to them again, but they didn't respond. And get this, eBay won't help me out either! It's like, what's the point of their money back guarantee if they don't cover SquareTrade? It's been a whole week and I still haven't gotten the warranty, so I can't even return it or leave feedback. This whole thing is super sketchy, man. I mean, it's only $24.99, but still. I don't like feeling scammed. Just be careful when you're shopping on eBay, okay? Check your cart before you hit that buy button.
SquareTrade Review: Frustrating Claim Process and Long Wait Time
I recently had an experience with SquareTrade that left me feeling frustrated and annoyed. It took a whopping 48 days for my claim to be paid out, which is a long time to wait for something that should be relatively straightforward.
I initially tried to start my claim online, but ran into some issues with my email address not matching up. I tried resetting it, but still couldn't get the claim started. When I called customer service, I was brushed off and told to try again online. When that didn't work, I asked to speak to a manager, which is when things finally started to move forward.
The next day, I received an email saying that I needed to file the claim with the manufacturer because my item was less than a year old. I called again and spoke to someone who was convinced that the manufacturer covered water damage. I had to read him the warranty and explain that only manufacturing defects were covered, not water damage. It was only after I asked for a manager that they were able to bypass this step.
Next, they needed a copy of my receipt, which took several more calls to sort out. It was a frustrating process that took up a lot of my time, but I eventually got my claim paid out.
It's disappointing that SquareTrade makes it so difficult to get your money back. It almost feels like they're hoping you'll give up and they won't have to pay out the claim. However, I would advise anyone in a similar situation to keep calling and asking for a manager. It's your money, and you deserve to get it back. Just be prepared to spend some time on the phone and make sure to ask for an email confirmation of anything they tell you.
Disappointing Experience with SquareTrade Protection Plan for LG Washer Dryer Combo
I recently purchased an LG combo washer dryer and decided to purchase a 5 year protection plan from SquareTrade. I've had some issues with it in the past, but SquareTrade has always paid out without any problems. However, this time around, I had to borrow money to pay for the repairs and had to wait on hold for over an hour today while they reviewed my repair invoices. Finally, I got someone who spoke English and he promised to call me back personally to get everything sorted out.
To my surprise, I received an email stating that my receipt didn't have four pieces of information on it that were clearly in the receipt. They never asked me for my purchase receipt, just my invoices. I sent them the invoices with a nasty note and received yet another email saying they couldn't process my claim. I had to send them the invoices six times, with three screenshots each time. This is $490 dollars that I can't afford to pay my friend who used her savings to help me. She has nothing now too! This is absolutely disgusting, and I will be contacting the BBB and whatever legal resources possible.
I would have never gotten it fixed if I knew this would happen. I've never had an issue with SquareTrade before, and I'm so disappointed with their service this time around. The girl who originally approved my claim wasn't listening to me at all either. I had to repeat myself over and over again.
I could have financed a new unit on sale for all this. I'm so disgusted, and I hope that Allstate pays me expedited. This has been a terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend SquareTrade to anyone.

Disappointing Experience with SquareTrade Warranty Service for Laptop Damage
So, I had a pretty rough day at school the other day. I accidentally bumped into someone and my brand new laptop fell out of my bag and hit the ground corner first. Needless to say, I was devastated. The laptop was only six days old! When I turned it on, the screen was all messed up. There were green bleeding discolorations all over the place, and it was impossible to watch anything with a black background. I was so upset.
I decided to give SquareTrade a try, since I had heard good things about them. Unfortunately, they initially denied my claim, saying that the damage was only cosmetic. I was so frustrated! I knew that the damage was more than just cosmetic. After several days of angry phone calls and sending HQ photos, SquareTrade finally agreed to take a look at my laptop.
They held onto it for a week to do a diagnostic check. When I finally got it back, I was shocked at how much worse the damage had gotten. The screen was bleeding even more, and there were all sorts of other issues, like random shutdowns and corrupted files. The battery wouldn't even hold a charge anymore! It was clear that whatever had happened to my laptop during the fall was more than just cosmetic damage.
I have to say, I was really disappointed with SquareTrade. I don't think I'll ever use them again. It felt like a scam to me. I wish that Newegg had given me more options for warranty service. It's frustrating to feel like you're stuck with a company that doesn't care about your needs.
I tried to upload some photos that I took with my phone, but they were all too large. If you want to see them, I've posted them in a Google Drive folder. Overall, I would say that my experience with SquareTrade was pretty negative. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
SquareTrade Warranty Review: Frustrating Claims Process and Disappointing Customer Service
I recently had an experience with SquareTrade that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I purchased a coffee maker from an Ebay merchant for a great price of $22, and decided to add on a 2-year warranty from SquareTrade for an additional $2. Unfortunately, the coffee maker stopped working after only 10 months, and I had only used it for 7 of those months due to it being in deep storage for the other 3.
I first tried to file a claim with the manufacturer, Bella-Sensio, as it was still under a 1-year warranty. They requested a lot of information from me, including a photograph of the bottom of the unit, which I promptly provided. However, they seemed to have blown me off and I didn't receive any response.
So, I decided to file a claim with SquareTrade-Allstate. Once again, I had to submit a lot of data, which I did the same day. A representative informed me that they needed 2 hours to make a decision. I followed up with them on February 20th, only to find out that they had lost the email I submitted. I had to explain to them again that online purchases do not have receipts and that I had provided a scan of my credit card statement instead.
Despite all of this effort, my claim was ultimately rejected. I was extremely disappointed, especially since I had purchased SquareTrade warranties for many items over the years and had never had to file a claim until now. It felt like their service was a scam.
Overall, I would caution others against purchasing warranties from SquareTrade. While their prices may seem attractive, their customer service and claims process leaves a lot to be desired.
Regretting My Decision: A Review of Walmart's SquareTrade Warranty for iPad Repairs
I can't even remember why I went with the Walmart warranty instead of AppleCare, but boy do I regret it now. My iPad's charging port wasn't working, so I filed a claim with SquareTrade. At first, they wanted me to send the iPad back to them, which would have been a hassle and who knows how long it would have taken. Plus, there was no guarantee that they would even be able to reproduce the problem since it was intermittent. I complained, and they finally gave me permission to take it to a local repair store.
I ended up taking it to Apple, and they were able to reproduce the problem. Unfortunately, they said that the iPad was beyond repair and would need to be replaced at a cost of $420 plus tax. They gave me a work order to prove it. I uploaded the work order to the SquareTrade site, but then I didn't hear anything back for two whole days. I finally called them and spent a good half hour on the phone with them. They couldn't find the work order, so they asked me to upload it again and then call them back so they could pre-approve it. But they wouldn't let me do it while I was on the phone with them. So I hung up, got the email, and tried to upload it. But I couldn't because a receipt had already been provided. So I had to call them back again. And even though I gave them my claim number and name, they still had no idea what was going on.
In the end, I think everything will be okay, but man, AppleCare is so much simpler and it costs the same amount. I wish I had gone with that instead.
Disappointing Experience with SquareTrade Warranty: Denied Claim for Used Monitor Purchase
I recently had an experience with SquareTrade that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had purchased a refurbished computer monitor from newegg.com and unfortunately, it broke shortly after I received it. When I called to file a claim, I was told to contact the manufacturer, who then directed me to their refurbished warranty department. Unfortunately, the monitor was just outside of the 90-day warranty period.
Feeling stuck, I reached out to SquareTrade and Allstate to see if they could help me. They started the claims process, but when I asked if I could purchase a used monitor from Facebook Marketplace, the online agent said yes. I went ahead and bought the monitor, submitting a receipt and screenshot of the purchase to SquareTrade. However, they denied my claim and told me to take it to a repair shop instead.
I was frustrated because I wouldn't have purchased a used monitor if they had told me it wasn't allowed. I wanted them to honor their word and pay out the $249 claim. As someone who has worked as a computer repair tech for three years, I know that the cost of replacing the screen or main board in a flat panel monitor would be more than the warranty payout.
After speaking with a manager and reviewing the chat logs, it seems that SquareTrade will pay out the claim. However, the process was not easy and I had to threaten them with a complaint. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience and will not be purchasing their warranty again.
SquareTrade Warranty Review: A Frustrating Experience Trying to Get My TV Fixed
So, I recently bought one of those warranties from SquareTrade for my 55" LG TV from Costco. I mean, why not, right? It's always better to be safe than sorry. But, as luck would have it, my TV decided to give up on me after just three years. So, I thought, no problem, I'll just file a claim and get it fixed. But, boy, was I in for a surprise!
I was expecting the process to be a bit complicated, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It seems like the whole process has been designed to make it as difficult as possible for the consumer. I had to send multiple emails and make several phone calls just to get to the point where I could send them a video of the problem. And, let me tell you, that was no easy feat.
My TV was literally doing nothing, so I sent them a video of it doing nothing. But, apparently, that wasn't good enough. They needed to see the problem happening. So, I gave them another call, and they told me the video didn't work. I mean, the video worked just fine on my end, on multiple devices, but apparently, it wasn't in the right format or something.
They told me to make the video less than 7 seconds and in MP4 format, which I did. But, then they told me it needed to be at least 10 seconds long to be useful. I mean, come on! How was I supposed to know that? At that point, I was so frustrated that I just hung up the phone.
I mean, this is just a $500 TV, not some high-end piece of equipment. It shouldn't be this hard to get it fixed. I'm not sure what the next steps are, but I'm hoping that I won't have to jump through any more hoops. All in all, I'm not very impressed with SquareTrade and their warranty service.
I am having the exact same problem, with a 65" Samsung from Costco, also at the three year point. I have been calling and emailing Square Trade for eight days now. I have repeatedly sent them all the information, photos and videos requested. I am trying to remain polite, but also being adamant that I want the warranty honored. I just got off the phone with a new level of customer service, and now I am being told that I will get another email within 24 hours, detailing my resolution. I asked what that meant exactly and was told that there would be three options. One, a technician visit (which is all I asked for to begin with), OR a refund for the cost of the TV which was $799, OR a new TV. If I don't get one of these three offers, then I am going into Costco to find out what they recommend. I am not giving up. This is a ridiculous run around designed to frustrate and wear you out. I guess they hope that the customer will just give up. It's B.S. and I'm not going to take it. I hope your situation gets better too. I'll update you on mine.
SquareTrade's Inadequate Fulfillment of Claim: Disappointing Customer Service and Prorated Refund
I recently bought a TV and decided to get a 4-year plan from SquareTrade to cover it. Unfortunately, the TV went bad after 2 and a half years, but I was relieved to know that the plan would cover a replacement or refund of the base purchase price. I paid $430 for the TV, but the base cost was only $377.99. I was happy to hear that everything was moving along smoothly and that I would be receiving my refund check via post.
However, when I received the check, I was disappointed to find out that it was for a prorated amount. I spoke to a customer service representative named Billy via chat, and he told me that the prorated amount was because the TV was a used product and to save me the shipping cost. I found this explanation to be total nonsense and a lie. In my previous discussions with SquareTrade, there was no mention of a prorated amount, and I was specifically asked to provide the base cost as that would be the amount refunded.
I feel like I'm being given the runaround, and it's frustrating that Billy and his team are not equipped to assist customers with these matters. He even gave me a number to call, but when I called, I found out that the department that handles TV claims was closed. It's disappointing to experience such bad customer service, especially when a customer service representative tells you to call now when they know what hours that department operates at. At the very least, they should inform the customer of the department times.
I'm so disappointed with SquareTrade's inadequate fulfillment of my claim that I've decided to post this review online and forward it to Gamers Nexus, LTT, Google reviews, and the BBB. Insurance companies make money when they don't have to pay claims, but it's not fair to customers who rely on them to fulfill their promises.
Frustrating Experience with SquareTrade: Difficult to Use Insurance and Lack of Customer Support
I recently had an experience with SquareTrade that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. While I was able to file a claim online and have it approved, the process of actually using my insurance was far from easy.
First of all, when I needed to repair my dehumidifier, I was directed to a cellular phone store. This seemed odd to me, as I would have preferred to take my appliance to a repair shop that specializes in dehumidifiers. Additionally, I found it difficult to get in touch with a human representative when I had questions or concerns. After hours, it was impossible to speak to anyone, and there was no email address provided for me to send a detailed message and wait for a response.
The only help I received was a constant loop back to the FAQ page, which was frustrating and unhelpful. I was left feeling like SquareTrade didn't really care about my concerns or needs as a customer.
To make matters worse, when my claim was approved, I was surprised to learn that SquareTrade would not be sending me the cost of the item, as they had done in the past. Instead, I was expected to take my dehumidifier to a repair shop and then submit the bill for reimbursement. This seemed like an unnecessary hassle, especially since the repair estimate was likely to be more than the cost of a new dehumidifier.
I couldn't help but wonder why SquareTrade didn't have repair shops where I could bring my dehumidifier in for repair and have the shop get paid directly by SquareTrade. This would have made the process much simpler and less stressful for me as the insured.
Overall, I found SquareTrade's approach to claims to be frustrating and confusing. It seemed like they were making it difficult for me to actually use my insurance, which is the whole point of having it in the first place. I would advise others to avoid companies that don't provide email addresses for customer support, as this can be a sign that they're not interested in helping you when you need it most.
