Sun Solar review: Solar electricity vs electric company

In 2019, I contacted Sun Solar about adding a solar system to my home in the country so that during electrical black-outs I would have electricity to my home. My wife is on an oxygen machine due to a medical problem and needs constant electricity for her machine.

I was told they could set up a system that would guarantee continuous electrical power. The system would make me a utility company, and the extra power created that was not used by my home would be sold back to New Mac Electrical company. That I would not have a New Mac bill of more than $15 to 30 dollars with the system installed. Since they did not offer battery storage for night time, I would need to add a Generator that would come on when the Sun Solar System was not producing electricity. I could buy the system or rent it.

I signed up for the Sun Solar system and separately bought a 24 thousand watt electric generator from them. They said I would be charged $198.98 per month for my system. The month charge was based on my 2018 total yearly costs. I was supposed to get 40 each 300 wt panes to cover my household usage and sending excess back to new mac electricity. I have only had 2/3 bills from New Mack less than 40 dollar. I knew mac bills have continued to rise where I was getting bills in excess of $200 plus having to pay Sun Solar $198.98 on top of that. When I complained, they ignored me.

I sat down and figured out the over payments since starting the program and determined they owed me $1401.90 in over payments for breach of contract on their promises from 11/18/2o to 10/4/22. I couldn't fine the number from 03/1/19 which would make it even higher. I found out that in 07/22 my system shut down from a coil going out on the system in the middle of the month which they knew about and failed to inform me but I wasn't the only one with their systems. They did not repair it until the middle of Sept 22. During that time I had not solar energy.

I tried to get reimbursement on my full New Mac bills but they refuse. In Oct 2022 I stopped all payments to Sun Solar with a statement they had broken their contract we me and I would not make anymore payments until they had reimbursed me. I have discussed this with New Mac and they told me that the system set up at my house is undersized. They say they numerous other people with Sun Solar that are having similar problems.
