Super Steel Building review: Don't fulfil order after they receive payment 251

My husband and I are out more than $18, 000 for a large shop we ordered from these [censor], not to mention the expense of the cement foundation that has already been poured. We will be filing with the Fla attorney general as well as the Ca attorney general where we live. We will also look into filing with the Miami Dade Consumer Protection Agency as suggested by a previous poster. As a matter fact, we will pursue any avenue available. We may have to eat this, but it damn sure won't be without a fight!

I agreee totally, these people need to be stopped from starting a new business with a new name and defrauding others, they may have made unsound business decisions but they had better not be driving a new car and living in a nice house with our $41, 000.

The Miami Address is relatively new. Their old address : 2700 W. Cypress Creek Rd. Suite A110 Ft. Lauderdale, Fl 33309. As far as I am aware, they did not have a warehouse or a manufacturing facility. Their expertise was in INTERNET, not in Metal Buildings. Super Steel would draw the building, create a cut list and shop the cut list to companies like mine and others. I would take the order and deliver directly to the job site. My company never delivered directly to Super Steel. Once Super Steel would receive the final payment. Super Steel would remit payment to my company. Thank you for providing us with this valuable information. I read your post with disbelief. When I called to talk to Jamie once in Oct there were loud noises in the background he said he was at the loading dock, which had me believing they had a factory. Wade and Jamie always signed their email messages " Plant Manager". So now I find out they really had no manufacturing facility! So that's why their website said they could ship out of muliple sites from around the country, they were getting other companies to build the buildings we ordered.

I was wondering Super Steel contracted our buildings out to other contractors to build the buildings if they paid them the money we gave them to start the buildings. These other contractors could be sitting on our buildings somewhere. Did they pay you anything if you took the contract or waited until the end to pay you full payment? We paid them a $3000 fabrication dep on 1-7-10 you would have thought whoever was building it would have had it done by now.

Well, here we all are together...getting ripped off by these y0-yo's! I got the "form" letter and "small" check today as well. Wow...I fell for thier line hook, line, and sinker. I'm in TN...so, will file a complaint with the State's Attorney. I'll take the advice and file with the FL Attorney General as well. Don't think it will do much good, but maybe a class action suit. Good information and helpful as I am heading over to file a police report. Talk with our Sheriff, describing the circumstances, and he recommended we all file complaints which he says we should be able to do. Granted our local jurisdictions are not able to do much but you have a record of the fraud and what it cost you. Also, I've sent the details to my attorney and will be talking with him this afternoon on what we should be doing next to assess the magnitude of this fraud and what official venues we can pursue these criminals. No, we would only get paid once we delivered the material to the job site. We never received a deposit. However, I would imagine that your deposits may have been required to draw (engineer) the building? What percentage of the cost was required for deposit? We have not received any orders from them since they decided not to pay the last order we delivered. I have spoken to the last customer hoping that he had not fully paid Super Steel and could forward the amount directly to us, and he advised me that he had paid Super Steel in full. We are not sure who Wade and Jamie are however, we are sure that Super Steel or United Steel did not have any manufacturing capabilities.

Well we just got our handwritten check from Super Steel today also, for pennys on the dollar $190 we gave them $8138. Here is what their letter says, dated June 25, 2010 on blue paper with just Super Steel Buildings across top no address.

"Dear Customer,
We regret to inform you that Super Steel Buildings has fallen to unforeseen economic hardships that we have been unable to recover from. Super Steel has undertaken significant efforts to remain a going concern and to complete your building, but the drastic charges in our economy and the price of steel has effectively closed our business. Therefore, we have been left no choice but to close operations. We, have chosen to take all remaining company monies, whether such monies were received from our customers for deposits or not, and distribute them on a pro rata basis to all remaining customers awaiting fabrication. We cannot express enough the regret we have for this, and wish we could have found another solution to benefit you as our
customer more. We have enclosed check for your pro-rate and final distribution of a return for your deposit monies. Please accept our deepest apologies for this outcome, we did all we could to avoid it. You have been a valued customer and we wish you luck.

I got a stupid check today also for $190 In the letter its says pro-rated well jn2375 says he gave them $8138, well I gave them $4018 and got $190 also. Maybe they are just trying to shut us up. I think Ill have to be getting a lawyer as much as I would hate to.

We also got a check for $190 and we paid them $41, 069.90. I think they are lying. I also think that they have not filed backruptcy or we would have some kind of legal paperwork and not a copied letter.

Maybe they think they can con us with that letter, they probable never figured we would find each other to compare what they have done to us and how much each one of us lost. This letter does seem fishy and the checks handwritten. I'm not cashing it I need to find out more. Going to our state police tomorrow with my papers, their letter and check to see if I can file a criminal complaint, I atleast want to get it on record.

They Have not filed for backruptcy as of lunch today I also got a 190 check for my 4450. We need To find a lawyer together that is out of florida and get this hunt started

I spoke with my lawyer yesterday and he advised me that the ONLY chance of it being somewhat worth a shot is if we get together. These crooks have put me on hold since Oct. 2 2009. Wade whoever that is, told me that the building I was buying was a cancelled building. How blind was I, anyway I spoke with multiple people today which was mostly uneventful other than finding out about them not filing for bankruptcy and did get a police report filed with Miami Dade

I would be willing to take down names and addresses and phone numbers of people who want to nail these guys, is there any one in Florida who would be willing to look for an attorney. My brother in law discovered that this guy has businesses all over, we need someone who is very quick and agressive. I would love to help in some way, we have saved a long time to get together the money for this barn and we are not happy campers. So please let me know if there is something that I can do. I just spoke with Gavin Caddy - if any one is interested in pooling resources to bring action against these criminals, please contact him. He is not allowed to solicit clients, therefore you must contact him. This appears to be a long-standing and well-planned fraud, there may be assets somewhere that should be used to pay restitution.

As everyone is aware the more people and or material supliers that get involved the better our case and less expensive on everyone.

I had received a letter as well today and a check for $190.00 and we gave them $5, 849.00. I also had contact with marie by phone and email as recent as 5/24/10.

We also have been taken for $10, 000.00. We were told they had a canceled building of 80X90 and they could give it to us for a discounted price due to the prior buyer had to back out. I tried to call them today and their phone has been disconnected and I've not received a response from my e-mail I sent to Marie. I tried to log onto their web page to see if their number had changed and stumbled onto this page. I called our attorney and she said we had to find a lawyer in FL and recommended that I file a complaint with FL Attorney General Office and I've done that. I agree we should get a lawyer. It's awful that people have no shame. Count us in as well!

That was the story i received back in October. They had a 30 x 38 building that someone back out on and could give me a discounted price. The followed through with phone calls & emails so i had no reason not to believe them. I even looked up the BBB rating and it was A- needless to say thats a joke, they arnt worth a [censor] either.

The story's above about discount buildings is the same as mine. Kept getting emails from Allen, Wade. But thanks to poster Pablo on this forum we now know they didn't have a factory. I would advise all you new people who have just found this forum to go back a page or two and read what Pablo had to say.

I"ve contacted Mr. Caddy via email...hopefully we can get enough of us for a class action...we're talking 10s of thousands of dollars here...wow.

The Florida AG has known about this for over 2 years.
Ft Lauderdale PD handed this over to the FBI...but William Knote continues to steal deposits. United Stell, Building Steel, or Super Steel..it's the same scam.

Before you put out more $$$ with attorneys, know that USB has refused to satisfy court ordered settlements. USB has told the state they are "bankrupt". There are currently approx. 80 complaints against USB totaling several hundred thousand dollars.
