I recently purchased a kitten from SVETLANAS SIBERIANS, due to allergies, I can`t go to my local SPCA in Calgary and just adopt a cat.
When I went to go pick him up, my kitten Bowser and his brother each had one eye that was watering and gooby. I asked about it, she said it was nothing, just a kitten cold, and was using normal polysporin in their eyes. Like we use on scrapes and cuts.
I also should have caught on, she kept the other kittens and cats in her bathroom, away from these 2 brothers.
I did not see the cattery... I wish I would have asked.
So we chose one, paid, and went back home. I started using baking soda and warm water on his eye, hoping it was just a scratch from playing or it actually was just a kitten cold. His eye seemed to get better, but not 100%. Then it was back full blown, off to the vet, the vet diagnosed him as having feline viral rhinotrachetis. FELINE HERPES. We have no other animals in our house, so I know for a fact he caught this from the breeder`s cattery. His brother had the exact same symptoms, at her house.
I have emailed the breeder about all of this. She says oh, his brother is 100%, and our cats are tested for this, blah blah... she avoided pretty much all of my questions and concerns in the first email,
She also gave us a pamphlet, showing us their first sets of shots were done.. I am not sure if she went to a vet, or administered these herself, I also asked that AGAIN in my email, did these kittens ever see a vet?!

It isn`t just about the money. I don`t want this happening again. And I want to do something about it.
I just worry if people are uneducated or have other cats in their home, these cats will also be sick.

PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THIS!

I also purchased a kitten from this breeder and she also had the watery eye problem. I ended up taking the cat to the vet and she had the same thing. Unfortunately this is a very common cat virus and can be so easily transmitted between cats. And some cats get this chronically but eventually outgrow it. I had no issues when I contacted the breeder. She reimbursed me most of the vet fees and gave the kitten a dewormer for free. It's a virus and if treated doesn't affect the cat. And some cats that are carrying the virus will show symptoms when under stress.

Thank you for the lie.. Or is this Deana? She doesn't pay anyone's vet bills even when she is at fault.

I bought a kitten at this breeder to, she is 5 months old now. We took her for her spay about 3 weeks ago, when the vet took some blood from her before the surgery, her blood would not clot, 2 test later we know she was diagnosed with a Coagulation disorder( blood clothing problem). I send the breeder an email and her response was, that as a breeder you will hear new things all the time. She had never heard of a coalgulation disorder, and had no complaints coming from other litter mates. It seems like she really is not interested in the welfare of her kittens it is all about the money. It is now 3 weeks later I have send svetlana siberians a report of the blood work and no response what so ever. I am not looking to trade my kitten since we love her just the way she is. This is just to prevent others from running into the same problems. Svetlana SIberian is not what she say's it is.

The complaint I posted on the board has been resolved, Svetlana Siberians has taken steps to find out what is going on. She also honored the contract, letting me know I could get another kitten if I wanted to. Since I don't want to trade in the little muffin we have, we will be going forward with taking care of her, and keeping the breeder informed on what is going on in Kira's life.

My complained about Svetlana Siberians, turned out to be a false alarm from my vet, my kitty doesn't have a blood disorder after all and is now spayed and healthy as she should be. Her last test came back negative of any blood disorder.

I bought a kitten from her. No issues. Healthy, healthy cat...would adopt from her again. I think it's offensive to trash a breeder and then have a "false" alarm.

Actually I had 4 test done to my kitten, where we informed the breeder of the problem we had, it seemed the breeder didn't take this to serious, It cost us over 1 grand to get my kitten checked and spayed in the long run. Don't bash my post if you have no clue what all went on, an that time we ran to the vet just about every week. And I was kind enough to post that it did clear up. Your words really don't hold any value, walk a mile in my shoes before you cast your 2 cents. And for your information I posted the falls alarm on Svetlana's request, I did what I was asked to do!

I found this link today on svetlana after I received mail that told me I jumped to the gun more or less. Thank you for bringing me back to this site, I might have found a sibbling to my kitten that had the same problems as mine did. You might want to compare the 2 complaints and the time line. I have 2 kittens from the same breeder, my first one didn't give me any worries, the second one nothing but worries when she needed to be spayed. Please do your research before you comment on a post you disagree with.

I am interested in this breeder and am taking these comments very seriously. Can I ask what sort of price range their kittens are sold for?

I bought a Siberian kitten from Svetlana Siberians back in 2010. My kitten had the same eye infection as others describe. I noticed it a day or two after I brought him home. I had no other pets at the time and was living on my own. I can't remember exactly what the infection was called, but he was on medicine for about a week (eye drops and liquid I had to carefully put down his throat using an eye dropper type thing). I remember the emergency vet was quite angry and questioned the breeder's practices. Fast forward to March 1, 2016, and my darling cat is now gone. He wasn't acting like himself so we took him to the vet. Turns out he had an incurable cancer (they thought lymphoma) and he had to be put down because nothing could be done. He wasn't even six years old. To say we're devastated is an understatement. I can't pin the cancer on the breeder because I will never know exactly what caused it, but I sure as heck am not going back to that breeder if we decide to get another cat. I just had a bad feeling throughout, and the eye infection was unacceptable. She was also extremely difficult to get a hold of, even after I paid the deposit. I also had to try multiple times to get his papers after I had him neutered.

I used to work here with this breeder she is also a horse breeder. Her cats are in the larger dirty gross cat trailer ... The kittens are diseased because the poor parents live in there own waste, as soon as police informed me that i myself could get in trouble i reported her and moved of the property. Her horses are cross bred with family, and some of her minis are bred with actual sized horses. The parents of the kittens you see are not the actual parents. They are the only 5 cats that are calm enough to touch. The real parents are in the "cattery" of cat trailor of hell. She has something like 25 cats and all but 5 cats are so wild that they seriously injure themselves ehen you have to be in there. The smell of cat urine is so bad my kids couldnt be in there, my eyes would water so bad, and burn. She prints off scanned vet shot proof papes, she does shots herself. While i worked for her 2 litters of 3-4 died in that building ... Omg people please dont buy these kittys... Calll the spca !

Sorry people, Amber was actually a renter at the stables and had to be evicted because of causing damage to the property and having her pets and child living as described. The police were called and she was not happy, hence her vengance here. We wont embarass her but pictures are available and her statements are of course false
