I was sold through a sales call to participate in a time share presentation and initially paid $99.00 for "three days four nights at Tahiti Village Resort in Las Vegas, all inclusive x 2 plus a 4 night 5 day cruise out of Florida". They said that I had 2 years to make the reservation.
I called a little over a year later this reserve it and was told, "sure, you can reserve it. But we will need another $99 for resort fees". I said "ok I guess". And they charged me again. I set the date for 3 months away, and immediately wrote down the details, as well as sent my family members and itenerary and invitation through Google calendar. I received a phone call right after asking me to make sure that I got my confirmation email. I opened up the email, and followed a link that showed me the dates. The day we were driving down there, 756 miles away mind you, I think I better find that confirmation email. I find it, open it and go to follow the link and it's a null and void page not found. I put in a request for confirmation at 11:30. I hear nothing back. We show up down there and I pull up my confirmation email with the void link. She goes in the back and say" it shows that you paid, but haven't made the reservation yet. I have two kids with Autism, so this was absolutely devastating for them. I ask to speak with the sales team and I was told that they were gone until Monday. So, I end up spending over $700 for 2 nights at this place which was everything we brought with us. They still haven't refunded our $200 deposit and we had to borrow money to make it home. I sat on hold for two hours just to talk to someone when the office opened just to find out they are there all weekend. Talk to the person and essentially there's nothing he can do. He sees that there was a mistake in the system but apparently I'm the one who has to pay for their mistake. I ask to get the recorded phone call and he sluffs me off. I ask to talk to the manager and he says he will call me back. He still has not. This whole vacation cost us around $3500 and we only stayed two nights. My assumption is that my credit wasn't high enough and that's just their devious ways of screwing people over.
Desired outcome: Refunded the two nights and the $200, ideally refunded for all of our expenses but that's probably not realistic
